I bought one and modified it to be used for my 3d printer (ender-3 s1). The handle can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5426465

I got the Anko LED Monitor Light $9 on my laptop. it will only fit laptops or monitors that are just as thin. its not bad a little loose fitting on the top though.

      Worth buying?

    • Did you mean "thick (bezel)"?
I bought the $9 version, and put it on top of my Dell bezel-less monitor (which has a 5mm bezel). The clamp of the LED covered part of my screen. The total height of that part of the clamp is about 1cm+, so it looks like my monitor has a rectangular cutout (the size is approx the cutout on my Macbook Pro screen)

  • Maybe it’s just my monitor but this for me makes them harder to look at

    • You’re not supposed to shine the light at your monitor… rotate it forward until none of the light shines on the screen. If that doesn’t work, the light bar might be faulty in design.

      • I'm not sure about the $19 version, but on the $9 version, there's no way to rotate the LED. It makes a 90-degree angle to the screen.
I use the LED for reading/writing on the desk only, not for lighting the screen.
        Not a good design IMHO

      • probably was it, one i used barely kept on the monitor so was probably hitting the monitor, prefer to be in the dark anyway

        • Yeah the xiaomi one I use can rotate around the mount itself to get the right angle without shining in your eyes or on the screen.

  • Is the Monitor light worth buying and of any real use?

    • well there's this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12392988/redir

But also you would use it if your desk in front of the monitor is used when computer not on, like for writing and you don't have a desk lamp.

    • If you're asking for yourself, then no.

I got one when we moved houses and the light in the study (desk is attached to wall) is behind me and the desk, so I need extra light. Also my eyes are doing its own thing.

Might make a good fish tank light. Got one to try.

  • I've got the $9 one, I couldn't find a monitor in my house with bezels thick enough that it wouldn't get in the way of the screen so I ended up putting it in a network cabinet to light up some switches. Can't adjust the angle meaning if you don't like dusty monitors you're going to be triggered unless you keep it clean.

I bought this a couple of days ago. I used double-sided tape so that the light is pointed towards me. Works really well for zoom calls so my face isn't so dark. Brightness adjustment is great, as are the 3 colour temp modes. Highly recommended for this purpose.

Hows the one with the webcam?

  • Just bought "Anko LED Monitor light with webcam" for my partner; to be honest disappointed with the LED brightness and I am planning to return it to Kmart; perhaps because I've got the BenQ screenbar model (which I understand it costed way more than this one, $100+).

    Pro:
    - Good webcam - detected by my MacBook pro just fine (identified as "WeVO WV-1080" by the Zoom app)

    Cons:
    - The BenQ is much brighter than Anko one, it has up to 930lux (as per their spec page - haven't tested it myself); I normally use my BenQ as a desk-lamp replacement when I'm working during the night; with the Anko one, no one near as bright as this one

Both fits Xiaomi 34" curve monitor just fine
