I’m just going to put it here that this product isn’t great. I’ve been using this for the past year and there’s always frequent drops in connection. The only good thing is each of the wifi mesh is a google home speaker but for this money, I would recommend a netgear or asus single router would actually give you more stable connection

    • I have a perfect stable connection since day one. 11 months of use. Strange how it varies.

Could it be its the nbn connection and not the routers?

    • Mine is also a bit hit and miss when comes to stable connection. I've had to troubleshoot random mesh point drop outs but usually a reset of the point fixes it. The speaker is a bonus but kind of wish I had just went with the Netgear Orbi.

Yeah loved it after the first month or so of bugs. Was great for a while…. then went to complete shit with dodgy updates.

    Won't ever touch them again.

  • I’ve had this product for about a year with 3 wifi points (1 extra) and it’s been fast and stable. I get full 100/36 speed throughout our home whenever I speed test. Typically there are 40 devices connect to wifi including 7 HD wifi cameras streaming to the cloud. The speaker function and Google assistant is a nice feature of these units. I’ve been very happy with Google mesh and only became aware of issues through this post so obviously not everyone has had the same experience.

  • Strange the differences people have of the Google Mesh. I originally bought the three pucks and found them great then bought two of the new ones to have better coverage everywhere for my TVs, cameras, doorbell, etc. No problems at all as long as once a month or so I restart the NBN modem, then the Telstra modem then the Google one. I switched off the Telstra wifi long ago and have never looked back. I will wait for the Google AX when it eventually arrives. My only problem with Google is the Google Home App, it is becoming too big for its boots!

  • Now shows $388.

  • $20 discount code $200+ spent from Student Beans.

  • I think the consistent story with this system is it’s good when it works but does have significant problems. Mine was almost flawless for 2 years then dropouts and Aussie insisting google wifi was impacting my speed.

I did a factory reset and it said it wasn’t connected to the internet but it was i could not set up points for 3 days until problem magically resolved.

During lockdown all video calls were terrible until i did some research And switched off a setting to prioritise video conferencing then they worked perfectly.

I also got a tp link ax55 and extender as a back up mesh system (wifi 6), did an experiment where I located the tp link devices in exact same spots as 2 google wifi points and tested wifi strength around the house. Signal was always better on the older non wifi 6 google wifi than the new tp link mesh setup.
