Should include photos of the actual goods on sale as these are not brand new items. Failure to do so could be conveyed as misleading or deceptive advertising.

And correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it policy of eBay to require real photos provided when the goods are not brand new?

      • +2

They could maybe include the photo of one, but I doubt eBay is going to expect them to have multiple listings to show photos for each one, considering 29 have been sold to date.

How can it be misleading when it literally says there's damage?

These places also aren't going to create a different listing for each of the hundreds of devices they have complete with photos.

  • 7200U, ouch.

Yep big difference from Gen 7 to Gen 8. However under 300 bux not a bad deal…

      • How big a difference

        • Double the cores.

          • @coxymla: Any suggestions for a 8 gen

            • @asa79: Would just wait for another 7490 (or ThinkPad T480 etc.) deal to come up. Probably around $500 though.

OMG, what were you expecting for $299? A bitcoin rig? These are good laptops.
The 8th gen 16GB for $443 was better, but price reflects that, and you could be waiting a while for a repeat.

      • Well… Might as well look for a cheaper earlier gen no major difference between gen 4-7 Into CPUs.

    • yeah …. not 8th gen so no windows 11 support ……

  • Is it charging through USB C too?

      no

        Yes they do

I bought the 7480 i5-6300 from their last deal. Might have been lucky but was in pristine condition and came with LTE which was a bonus. Can confirm it does charge through usbc but comes with standard charger.

  • Sorry off topic, do you have Surface Pro for sale? Thanks

I bought i5 8000 version for $400 in May. Based on above comments, it seems better to wait for the 8000 series

  • Hopefully good replacement for kids school laptop

As per the previous comments, the 7th Gen CPUs are pretty sad compared to their 8th Gen counterparts. What's worse is that anything running 7th Gen is at least 5 years old now - batteries will be on their last legs and you'll have a higher likelihood of wear-and-tear like loose power ports.

You're also not (necessarily) going to be able to install Windows 11, which will matter in a couple years time - that means you're paying $150 per year for one of these. By that maths, it's better to pay $450 for an 8th Gen model (which is achievable) which will be usable for the foreseeable future.

      • 3+ years actually.

After which time if you haven't used one of the many available hacks to go to W11, or you decide you have got your money's worth out of a $300 computer and upgrade, W10 will work just fine.
