Microsoft Lifecam HD-3000 High Definition Webcam $14 after Cashback @ OW:

http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Per…

$29 before Cashback, need to claim $15 from Microsoft:

https://www.microsoft.com.au/hardwarecash/index.html

Works out $14, not a bad price for a 720p HD Webcam. DSE has this unit for $29.95 but it seems most stores have already run out of stock now.

Here is the link from DSE:

You can check stock level on both OW and DSE websites before heading out to get one from the nearest store.

I know there is already another post on the Microsoft Cashback, but I hope this find will help those interested in a cheap HD webcam. :)

If I remember correctly, DSE just had the sale during the weekend and this one worked out to be about $3.

    • yep, dse had this for $17 last Sat.
worked out a $1.20 after OW pricebeat and Microsoft cashback.

  • attach to netbook + software
get hd camcorder w/ anti shake support (netbook base) for peanuts

    ??
    profit

  • Not as good as the DSE deal but you can get OW to price-match Umart price $27 with additional 5% markdown:

    http://www.umart.com.au/newindex28.phtml?id=10&bid=5&sid=773…

I clarified with OW staff a few weeks ago. They will price-match online stores provided the final price includes delivery or it is available for pick-up.

  • Anyone an idea what bandwidth HD-720p as a webcam would take?
(We really enjoy some of the worst bandwidth in the developed world when it comes to bandwidth in the uplink direction, bottleneck 1.5-2 Mbit/s - even if you're on cable).

  • will these fit on a laptop alright?
my stupid laptop has no webcam :(

EDIT: Duh,, of course it will fit on a laptop… most people use LCD screens these days and it has to fit on one of them. Lol, just another dumb blonde moment.

  • I'm a bit confused about the MS 30% cashback on full RRP. So for this LifeCam 3000HD, on their ebsite the MSRP is stated as $39.95 so… 30% of that should be $11.98… So where did we get the claim $15 from MS? Am I missing anything?

    Cheers!
