  • Will it work with wear os devices?

    • Don't see why not if it downloads to the Google Pay wallet.

Pffft doesn't seem like much of a deal to me.

Anyways I stand corrected if someone can point out the benefits to me

Same, not going to neg (or upvote)

Unless you’re gifting it to someone, then this would be a good deal since you’re saving the purchase fee and usable everywhere
Otherwise, wait for discounted gift cards from Colesworth or buy e-gift cards from this OzB list

      • Do those gift cards have NFC and are reloadable?

        • No but I was comparing the discounts against the MasterCard offer from Giftz

There was a recent promo from Coles on 10% off MasterCards

So if I understand this correctly I need to hand over my card details to this business (is it Black Hawk Network??) to buy this card to prevent me from handing over my card details to another online merchant. Makes sense.

    • Yes we are owned by Blackhawk Network and yes you would be handing over your details to us but not multiple online merchants, assuming you use the card for multiple purchases :)

I had a look at the terms and conditions of the prepaid gift card in this deal.

The terms are very opaque in regards to chargebacks or transaction disputes. Essentially, if someone “hacks”1 your prepaid gift card (which is an issue that crops up on prepaid gift cards from time to time), you may be on your own and are reliant on goodwill gestures from the issuer (in this case, EML Payment Solutions Limited). A lot of people found out the hard way when many Coles Gift Mastercards were “hacked” last year,
; the issuer of that prepaid gift card (Indue) was not clear on whether transaction disputes would be permitted and they applied a very inconsistent approach in regards to transaction disputes.

I find this interesting because the Mastercard scheme allows for chargebacks and transaction disputes…

I would personally avoid this prepaid gift card (even if there was a $0 purchase fee).

    1. “Hacks” are where some people randomly generate prepaid gift card combinations (card number, expiry date, CVC2) and test them until a working combination has been found.

Just use Revolut, which has the ability to make virtual cards.
