    Is it Baseus?

    From the description:

    Brand: B.S

    and

    Compatible with Baseus

    • Yeah something very dodgy about this..

      • +8

        Seems like BS.

    • +7

"Compatible with Baseus". Lol, WTF does that even mean…

      • Sounds like a question for @MostlyMelbourne.

      • It means the seller wanted to capture people searching for 'baseus charger' without lying. Technically.

    • +1

It has "Baseus" on the product in the photos.

  • 2X USB-C + 2X USB-A +2X

    • +1

      2X USB-C + 2X USB-A +2X 100-240V AC Power

    • +3

      X = USB ( C - A^2 ) there, solved for you

  • +1

Reading previous deals it looks like it has an uninsulated CN plug.

    • Yes, looking at the pictures that's definitely the case. It will work, but not technically compliant.

      • Do uninsulated plugs have a higher risk of causing fires or electrocuting you? Just wondering because I've been looking at some type C chargers recently and don't want to get anything that's more prone to failure

        • +1

I believe the idea behind them is if the plug isn't fully inserted (but still connected to mains) and something conductive slips in and touches the uninsulated prongs you can be electrocuted (if you're touching it) or it could cause a spark/trip.

With the insulation the metal is only exposed when it's not actually plugged in to the mains.

You could probably achieve the same outcome by wrapping some electrical tape around the base of the prongs.

    • -5

it has an uninsulated CN plug.

      That's BS

    • Yeah my 65W is uninsulated as well.

    • -2

I didn't buy this because of the CN plug.

It's not worth the small chance of electrocution and I don't like how the cable points up from the power point because of the difference between AU and CN sockets.

    • how to verify the plug -is- insulated ?

  • +4

I want one like the DELL USB-C laptops used to ship with.

Basically, exactly this, but with a few less ports, and a battery bank built in, to quickly get an another 30 minutes on your laptop; or charge unrelated devices over USB.

Basically, it's a PD capable power bank, but with built in AC circuitry.

    • +1

      That's awesome

What models did they come with

  • +1

    OOS

    • -5

      That is BS

  • Spewing, I bought last time for $75 dollaroos!

    • Is the charger any good?

      • Yes

      • +1

        Its not bad.

      • Mine gets hot just trickle charging my phone that's already at 100%. Which is weird but not a deal breaker

        • Odd… Sounds a bit dodgy, since isn't that one of the main benefits of GaN chargers that they are supposed to produce less heat?

  • -2

    BS brand….

    • +2

Their produts are usually good, but this ones crap.

    • +1

I think you're keyboard is jammed.

  • $15 off 65W one too

  • +15

    WORST CHARGER.
Gives me a faint electric shock whenever I touch the laptop or even the cable ends - a lot more than most adapters.
Decent voltage drops at full loads. Drops to almost 19.1V from 20. Most I have tested drop only by 0.3 volts
Big and bulky due to cable being very thick to support 2 extra plugs. Plug is upside down, so are the plug points on the sides.
    No sleeves on the plugs.
Does not support Huawei charging protocol on USB C, need to connect to USB A only and work intermittently.

A beta testing product at best.

    • +2

Bin it. Surely it's not safe?

      • Its now my backup charger. Surely not bad enough to bin it, but wont buy one again.

        • That's BS. Mine is perfect with any device i plug in. You should return your faulty one.

          • @mckayver: Whatever I have experianced is not BS and a reality. BS is when somebody makes things up. Have you checked connecting a huawei phone and also the voltage drop at full load? And the shock thingy is common among chargers that isnt grounded. This has a ground wire on the plug and they probably havent bothered using it.

            • @John Doh: I have both 100w and 65w versions. I think there might be something wrong with your ground wire from your outlet. I used to have your issue with a powered external HDD. I had to swap out the power brick with one with 3 prongs instead of the 2, but no shock, just felt 'something' when running my finger along the metal parts

              • @plague69: No, the ground wires are just fine as I have connected this charger in 2 different houses and its the same issues. It even happes with original macbook pro adapter when only 2 pronged plug is connected, but with lesser intensity compared to this charger.

    • +1

      FWIW

      touch the laptop

Happens with MacBooks since they don’t have grounding.

      cable ends

This is a grounding thing, and happens more with high power usb-c devices.

      Huawei charging

Huawei fast charging only works on USB-A because they don’t have the emark chip, but sure, blame the charger?

Is this a good charger? Probably not. Is your criticism fair? Probably not.

      • +1

The Macbook charger does not give that faint shock when you connect with a 3 pronged cable - but does with a duckhead adapter. This charger HAS a 3 proged super heavy cable. Its supposed to be grounded. They didnt, its shyte. Also that juice is a little more than what normal adapters give out.

Does not matter what chip it has or not. My 65W Zyron GAN charger does support USB C Huawei protocal and WORKS EVERYTIME. This charger supports only on USB A works intermittently. So Yes, I blame this charger and my critisism is fair enough.

      • +1

I had a similar zap experience with my Surface laptop with the original charger. Took a volt meter between it and ground, was a decent voltage (30-50V from memory) but when I touched it it'd drop, so think it's some capacitive effect or something. Either way it didn't really instill confidence. Could feel the voltage on the underside of my arms when touching the laptop.

  • 6 outlets seems to include the cable ties.

    • +1

4 ports + 2 Ac ports sounds like 6 to me.

    • It what way is a cable tie and outlet?

  • It's a shame that it's a POS because it would have been ideal for me

    • Yeah same, perfect for WFH desk

  • +1

    wheres the waitlist?

  • This looks like the one Bangood was selling a few months back that they never got in stock.

    • It's the same.

      • Shame no one makes something similar with 100W and the extra outlets.

  • +1

I have this. The 100w cable that comes with this is garbage. Its not a true 100w cable and makes the unit reset when charging at 100w.
I bought a new 100w cable from cable creation works perfectly. Super happy with it now.

    • Same just 65W instead of 100W

      • Cheers that should cover my needs.

  • I just received this. It suits my WFH setup and it works. Going overseas soon and it will be the one charger I take to charge devices + 2 heymix 20w blocks from a prior deal. I hope it doesn't burn down the hotel!

    • +2

I'm returning this. Sh!t product. Every time a cable is plugged into USB, the other USB already plugged in, turns off then turns back on meanwhile I had once usbc always plugged into the laptop - this didn't turn on and off. When using the other usbc to charge an iPhone, I am plugging and unplugging it to make it charge/turn on. I move over the same cable to a different usb c block and it charges straight away. I shouldn't have to fiddle with the damn thing so often.

  • Just wish the head was interchangeable … They support 100-240v, but I have to carry an adaptor when overseas :'D
