    Rather an LG gram

    • +1

But the LG gram doesn't have the CPU performance of the this laptop and only scores 10,000 in Passmark. The Predecessor of this CPU,5600u, already scores over 15000.

      CPU in LG Gram

      https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-1135G…

      5600u

      https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+Ryzen+5+5600U&i…

6000 series can provide up to a 34% uplift in multi-core performance vs the 5600u.

Lg Gram only lasts up 13hrs in a real world test, despite claiming 25hrs, due to Intel 11th/12th gen being much less energy efficient than Ryzen. Ryzen 6000 gets better battery life with a 57wH than the Intel based Gram with a 71wH.

Additionally the iGPU on the Gram, Intel Xe, is significantly worse than what is on the Ryzen 6000 series, RDNA 2.

    • I have the LG gram the keyboard is not as good as Lenovo to type on.

1800 is too much for laptop with 6 cores, 16gb 6400mhz ddr5. Historically there have been better laptops for this price. It also only has a 57watt hour battery, 1080p resolution.

    • +1

      1080p resolution

Not quite FHD, it's WUXGA (1920x1200)

  • +1

Refer to my post above and also please provide proof to back up what you are stating, that has similar performance and battery life that is currently available in a similar sized chassis.

  • +1

For anyone reading, please disregard the majority of the above comments and check websites like notebookcheck or lenovo reddit forums (r/thinkpad) to judge whether this is a good laptop or not. The above reviews seem to miss the mark.

  • This thing is a productivity monster, if it had a 4G upgrade I'd be all over it.
Seems none of the Ryzen laptops come with a 4G option.

Chip shortage or compatibility I wonder?

The new Lenovo Yoga 7 deal with Ryzen 6800U for the same price is a better deal than this.

    • +2

My previous post was a good deal, but that is a different class chassis to this and target's a different market. This would be viewed as purely a business focused laptop with long battery life.

    • -1

I'm not so sure about that. I believe the Yoga 7 is 600 grams heavier: that's a lot, and it means that it's not an option for me.

      • +1

Yoga 7 is 1.42kg with the OLED model

        • Good point! I googled it, but I apparently didn't read far enough into the results.

This is an outstanding laptop. If only the screen was different, I'd be all over it! Even so, it's tempting.

  • Help…
    This or ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 with 24gb ram, i7-1255U, 512 GB SSD for $1353 ?

    • +1

Thinkpad E is more of an entry grade business laptop. The T series is viewed as a higher grade business laptop, hence the Carbon Fiber build.

The i7-1255u is weaker CPU than a Ryzen 6600u. The i7 only has two performance cores and 8 "efficiency cores". If you compare that to the Ryzen which has 6 performance cores. I think Notebookcheck did a review where the 12th gen U series i7 was up to 30% slower compared to the 6000 series Ryzen.

The i7 1255u is also less battery efficient. The Lenovo website says up to 8hr battery life. The AMD bases T14s has up to 19hrs of productivity.

      • Thank you :)

  • Can this handle dell USB C docks?

  • I am a bit afraid of the quality of the screen. Anyone could give me his review on it ?
    Thank you

    • It's apparently shit (300 nits) with washed out colors. Unfortunately they don't offer the better screens for this model in Australia.

      • That is what I thought.
        I bought a Huawei matebook x pro 2021 instead. 3k screen.

  • How do I get it at $1791?
