Unusual these days to get a good deal for existing subs… Cheers OP

    • +4

Is it not better to let it expire,. Then it's 40$ per 365 days?

      • +6

Sure, but will Microsoft neuter that offer before your current sub expires?

        • +2

Maybe, but then at the time there may be another deal for existing subs. Take the gamble.

          • +1

@KhevaKins: Microsoft have alluded to getting rid of Xbox Gold all together, and very likely will. I'd rather pay $5 month now to extend it at little longer than $16+ month in a couple of years. No subscription ever goes down in price.

      • +2

I guess my fear is that when 2024 rolls around and my current sub expired, that offer may not exist. Happy to roll the dice on what I reckon is fair value at this point

        • And you just know by 2024, after all our three year deals expire, all the good games like Skyrim 2 will suddenly come out.

      • Where can you get this? Is this the Eneba thing?

        • Yeah, stack Argentina Xbox live convert to GPU

      • Most people are pre-paid until 2024 on the expiration deal so there's a fair chance that loophole (?) won't exist by the time their sub expires.

        • I think you will get the hint the window is closing when Microsoft remove Xbox live gold from sale, it's still available at places like JB etc

  • +1

Am I missing something here - how can you purchase a 6 month card and be given only 100 days? Has not everyone converted to the Gregorian calendar yet?

Edit: Oh it's because gold <> ultimate

    • +1

Gold is a different (cheaper) service than ultimate, so when you buy Xbox live gold with this deal it's being converted to ultimate at a lower rate.

  • +6

My sub just expired so used this deal to get 35 months for approx $85.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706139

  • Thanks OP, happy to extend at around $5 a month.

  • +2

Does it work for Xbox Live PC people as well?

  • Thanks OP, charged up to 35 months. Also, a good heads up (at least for me), didn't realise you can still use Live Gold vouchers after upgrading to Ultimate.

    Cheers.

  • +1

Works out at approx $192 for 3 years for those wondering. This is great for me. I can’t tell you the crippling anxiety I have about mine running out from the ol Argentina trick.

    • +1

Did you not see the last post on Live Gold from Eneba? 73$ for 36 months?

      • Is that offer still live? If so, why would anyone use this one instead?

        • That one is only if you're subscription has lapsed, right?

      • Yeah but my sub still has a year left

        • $1 for new GPU or $16 for expired
      • Link? I can only find $95 for 3 years…

  • +1

Thanks for posting OP. Great for people who don't want to risk waiting for their subscription to end.

Personally, I'm going to roll the dice as I have under a year remaining on mine and not making the most of the service as is.

  • -1

Either Microsoft is going to cheapen their games as partial releases, or they're going to shut down the service at these prices.

    • -1

Lots of people buying these probably won't end up using it much.

Won't cost Microsoft that much especially when the games are mostly 2+ yrs old games.

    • They are getting hundreds of thousands of customers locked into their ecosystem which is absolutely priceless!

  • +2

While I'm sure this shouldn't be confusing and probably isn't actually confusing, I do find it confusing: Is Game Pass Ultimate activated for your Xbox console or for an account on the Xbox. So if there are 2 profiles on the Xbox and Game Pass Ultimate is activated on 1 of them, does the other profile get to use it ?

Or do I need 2 Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions ?

Edit: No it is confusing. If you attempt to Google that question the list of responses are in the billions and all different!!!!!

    • +2

You can share the xbox account ultimate if logged on to same console. Note that a game has to be installed to play as 2nd account can't access cloud gaming.

Although I think the profile with ultimate you have to be logged in as primary account or something.

    • +1

I'll answer that - XGPU is tied to an Xbox Live account, and you have to be signed into that account to use it on your Xbox - unless that Xbox is set as your "home console" in which case other users of that same Xbox can use your XGPU stuff.

      • +1

We only have 1 console. So if I set the console to 'Home Console' both profiles can use XGPU. I'll give it a go.

        • Correct.

  • +1

Confused on this one, there are still 3 month gold = 4 month game pass deals out there

  • Thanks OP . Loaded up all the extended families accounts

  • It seems to be slightly more generous than just 50 days XGPU / 3 months Live Gold, too. After applying 6 codes, I had 311 additional days of XGPU. After applying 10 codes, I had 518 extra days.

  • +1

Hmmm, one of my codes has already been redeemed!

    • +1

check in your account and it's probably applied it, this message did appear twice in the 8 I've done so far.

      • +1

        Yep that happened to me

        • +1

Yep, thanks guys. All good. First time using CDKeys was a bit worried :)

          • @JonShannow: Happened to me too, when I got a bunch of the 7-day codes from Eneba a while ago.

  • I bought it and when I tried to redeem it says “you currently have a subscription from a different region.” My ultimate is from Brazil with the VPN trick. Console is currently set back to Australia. Anyone know a workaround?

    • I was able to redeem them despite having done the Brazil VPN thing in the past.

      • What region do you have your Xbox set to? It’s absolutely not letting me redeem it. Tried on both console and browser through iPad.

  • Very nice. My GPU sub now expires Feb 2025. Thank you!

  • Great deal, thanks!

  • Yeah only my first code worked, second code already redeemed🤔🤔

    • That error almost always happens, but check your XGPU expiry, it should have changed.

  • Getting this error:

    Contact your subscription provider
This cannot be used with an existing subscription.

    Anyone have an idea?

    • Yes getting the same. Only thing I can think of is I got mine through Telstra when it was first released and subscription is included til September.

      • I was with telstra too and have cancelled it since signing up, so idk why it would still be linked via them

      • same here and Im with telstra too, think thats the issue

      • Same :(

  • bought a few times until Microsoft website give me error warning, might be some kind of protection plicy.

    Subscription expires on
    August 29, 2024

  • Worked perfectly fine for me. Added another 200 days. Expiry now 6 March 2025

  • +1

Is anybody else getting this email after purchase? Never had a problem buying from them 🥴

    • We regret that we are unable to process your order. We are not able to tell you specifically why the order failed, but it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

We are unable to confirm your payment
The code you are purchasing is region-restricted
A technical error occurred while completing the transaction -

    • Had a similar problem. Couldn't get past the "Complete Order" button. Brief message popped up saying to turn off VPN or add blocker. Only turned off VPN and order went through.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just added 16 months expiring in 2025.

  • -1

I heard Microsoft we cancelling subs for people doing this
    https://www.gamingbible.co.uk/news/xbox-game-pass-subscripti…

    • -1

From the same article “They’re not banned, though - anyone affected by this can simply resubscribe by paying the price they were supposed to in the first place. Their accounts and game history will all remain intact, too, so things could have been a lot worse”.

      • -1

Yeah but they voiding the cheap credit I guess ymmv

    • +3

That article & most other are mis-reporting the facts, likely seeking clickbate. The official article (linked below) from Microsoft states "Xbox has identified a fraudulent group of resellers who were stacking multiple instances of the PC introductory offer and converting it to Game Pass Ultimate. To resolve this issue, we have notified the impacted users individually prior to having their fraudulently acquired subscriptions cancelled."

      https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/game-pass…

Microsoft advertise and allow "upgrades" from Gold/Game Pass too Ultimate so, I can't see it being a violation of their T&Cs. I also haven't come across one person on OzB or Whirlpool that have been caught up buy this.

  • Thanks OP! Grabbed 4 lots of these and redeemed OK just now. Topped my my ultimate access until May 2025!

Got 2 of these for $15.83 (paying in Euro).

    • -1

This deal is for people who have a current subscription, the one you linked is for new/expired.

      • I just did it, each 3 months converts to 50 days.

      • It's the exact same code type, both deals work for existing subs (It's just that it's better for new subs)

    • +1

$8.745 on this deal for 50 days, whereas it's $7.56 to the one you linked but Eneba also charges a service fee of $1.09 on purchases, bringing it up to $8.65. So basically very similar prices.

      • -3

Actually the discount code from the other deal almost negates the service fee. 9 codes will cost $68.77 total or $7.64 per 50 days

        • I can use this as a current subscriber? Thats cool, going to grab this

          • @PlagueistheCheap: Yes you can, but if you are close to your expiry date it's much better to wait and get a better deal as a "new" sub.

        • Thanks for pointing out the code. Tried it and Eneba seems to be charging Euros, which will most likely incur conversion costs + overseas transaction fee for most credit cards. Makes the difference minimal imo. But yeah considering this deal is now expired, Eneba would be a good place to go.

          • @animasoIa: Currency can be changed to AUD on Eneba, plus you can just use a card that doesn't charge you an international fee, this is the same with CDKeys.com anyway. I assumed most people on Ozbargain had one of these
The total I posted above is the final total in AUD.

            • @wangasm: Already switched Eneba to AUD (region and currency) and it still tried to charge me EUR using Paypal.

              • @animasoIa: My mistake, I had forgotten about the Paypal part (Still can be avoided by using a fee-free card)
Just a warning for CDKeys, even though it charges in AUD you may still be stung by an international transaction fee - I haven't tested them yet.
                eg. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/659799

  • Am I missing something? Bought one x 6 month deal. Entered first code and got prompt saying it would convert to ultimate. Second code gave no prompts. Checked subscription and only received total of 4 months!

  • I didn't get prompted for 100 days GPU but instead shorten my sub, please help …

    • +1

should be 50 days per code, unless you had a billing problem I don't see how adding to a subscription could shorten it.

      • yes, it is 100 days, i didn't work out the dates but it is all good now, thanks

  • -1

Not a bad deal, but I've already more or less been doing this for two years and extended my subscription out to 2025 using Microsoft rewards points. Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are usually better value than GPU.

  • Thanks OP happy to max out at this price when I had a year left

  • +1

    Already increased

  • +1

Still discounted. But less discount now.

  • It should work with any Xbox live gold code if you can find a decent deal.

  • +2

Showing up as $21.39 now, was supposed to get one last pair of codes to max out my sub.Was $17 in my cart then switched to $21 as soon as I was gonna click pay.

  • +1

Yeah bought one for $17.49 but went to buy more and it went to $21.39, still better than full price.

  • Not sure why this deal is getting upvoted. Even at this deal's original price of $17.49, the previous deal is still cheaper at $15.75 for 100 days GPU. (Even if I recommend not extending an existing sub)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/714410

    • This one works for extending existing ultimate subscriptions, that past deal doesn't.

      • +1

Both deals work. Any Live Gold code can be used to extend a GPU sub. (that works for AU)

    • +2

This is correct, Enba is much cheaper, buy more than 2 at once.

  • Showing 21.39 to me
