Unlimited nbn 100/20Mbps $63.90/Month for The First 6 Months (Then $85/Month) @ Dodo

309

NBN 100/20 for $63.90. I personally won't touch dodo and will probably go with exetel, but dear I say this is tempting. Apparently guaranteed evening speeds of 95Mbps.

  • First 6 months

    • First month free. So maybe 7 months ?

  • Offer ends 14 Jul 2022

    • Says 2nd of August for me?

      • Weird. Opening link in private browser or removing the query string from url makes it also show 2/8/2022 for me.
I'm already with Dodo, so that could have something to do with it.

    • i was thinking of signing up on the 14th and decided I'd go with another provider, the next day they extended it out till next month

  • +1

    Should say via whistleout affiliate.

  • It ain't guaranteed speed.

It's Typical evening speed. If you can get 100 anyway.

  • Be great if could combine with first month free?

    • Why not 2 months? And 30% off for CBA card users too?

It's one or the other. 6 months discount rates or a free month with new ISP switches.

    But Dodo

    • +2

      Enough said.

      • They still run out of Bombay?

    • +1

I signed up under the first month free deal and ran away in less than 2 weeks due to the horrible connection I was getting. I would not use it even if it is free forever. Oh and it took them almost a week to get my connection working vs a few hours on ABB.

    • Yeah, worst company on earth.

  • +3

    Hahahaa. No.

  • Do these guys do the free FTTP upgrade if I join?

  • +6

do yourself a favour and dont go with freaking dodo even TPG is better

      Internet that flies

I thought they said "Internet with flies" ??? because they stink…

  • +6

    Never go Dodo

  • +17

Terrible customer service and slow peak speeds due to them cheaping out on CVC bandwidth from NBN.

    Dodo reviews 2.1/5
    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/dodo

    In comparison ABB 4.5/5
    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/aussie-broadband-p…

You get what you pay for.

    • it's not that simple, exetel has an even worse score than dodo and they are excellent, they use telstra and not vocus like dodo.

a lot of people complain due to poor customer service and a lot of that is just down to poor communication and poor infrastructure

sure the carrier should be able to easily determine the fault for the customer and arrange telstra to go out and fix the problem - but that is where the money is usually going

if you are still on some crappy ADSL connect to a node then sure, you probably want good support but if you are on HFC, FTTP or FTTC then the average person is not going to notice much of a difference between dodo, exetel or ABB.

it's those customer service fails based on substandard support that is largely responsible for those poor scores

worth noting that someone in the comment does mention an unstable ping on dodo and a poor gaming experience, thats a pretty big issue!!

    • Product review reviews are either very bad or very good. Take with a grain of salt.

    How garuented is it?

    • +24

      Higlhy garuenteed.

      • +3

        😂

      • -1

you will not get a higher garuentee

        • Kinda missed the moment there mate.

        • Does their modem have good waruentee?

  • I've been with Dodo for a year. Haven't had many issues with them

    • What are your speeds like compared to what's advertised?

      • +3

Hold on, he replied to your comment an hour ago… It should be coming in soon…

        • +2

His dodo Internet must be really really slow or stopped working. Still hasn't replied. Lol

  • +15

I was with dodo for a year in 2016. In that one year I had to go to the TIO once, and kick up a stink on Whirlpool another time because they signed me up to a 24 month contract instead of the month to month I agreed to when switching from ADSL to NBN. Even when they called me to try and resolve it they still tried to upsell me. Absolutely pathetic vultures. Avoid.

    • +5

      pathetic vultures

TBF I think they're pretty upfront about that!

    • Absolutely pathetic vultures

      dodos, not vultures.

  • +13

I'll never touch dodo again after they were down for 3 straight weeks for me years ago, their customer service was horrible during this time.

    • They just resell vocus now, no idea if that’s different from then but a free month is a free month. Customer service is limited, i waited nearly 3 days for a port which was weird

  • +3

I know people are shitting on dodo, but I've been with them since 2010 and I can say they dont deserve this. Adsl 2 days were kinda shit yeah, but since nbn I've had 0 issues with them, and at least for me with the 50/20 plan, I'm getting speeds above that and during peak traffic usually maintaining the 50/20 speed. Their customer support has really improved too!

    • I've had 0 issues with them…THIS. An ISP's value is more highlighted when there are problems. In a lucky and ideal scenario (like yours), all seems good but once there is a problem, the shit hitting fan.

  • These kind a deal expect customer to setup a reminder every 6 month to change provider.
BTW how easy is to change provider? Do we just call new provider and they ll take over, like porting in mobile, or we need to call previous provider to cancel and then new provider to take over.

    • +3

      yes its easy to switch

the pain in the ass thing is but heaps of the providers all use different modem settings so that can be a pita to sort out

also most of them dont pro - rata bills, so u need to switch at the right moment or u might accidently pay for a month you dont use, or cancel too early and be without internet for a few days / again pay too much

      • +1

I am pretty sure every ISP will do prorata bills, either automatically or after being asked to. If you get the lazy/greedy type you just need to call, they can't refuse you and charge for services you didn't use.

        • +1

From experience Superloop, Spintel and MyRepublic pro-rata. However, from what I have heard, Exetel do not so that's one people should be avoiding.

        • If their terms of service say no pro rata then they dont, doesnt matter what you think they should do

    • Singing up with the new provider would do the trick. Some providers need you to call them to provide you with the pro rata refund. I would just time the switch at the end of the cycle. Should be connected with in a few hours too.

  • +2

    dodo is doodoo

  • Dare, dare I say.

  • dodo is extinct

  • but dear I say this is tempting

    I haven't been called dear in a while…

  • How about daily speed? Anyone knows?

  • +1

Was with Aussie Broadband before moving to Dodo for 2 months - 100/20 FTTC.

Download speeds were fine - average 90-95mbps download /16 mbps upload at peak.

The ping was fine, but it would spike continuously to 600+ ms; however, because it would average out over the course of a speed test, Dodo customer service told me "it was fine", and there was nothing to fix. Online gaming was absolutely miserable because of it.

Went back to Aussie Broadband and instantly the problem disappeared again. I highly recommend NOT swapping to Dodo if you game in any way shape or form.

  • +1

Dodo is so dodgy and bad, when I requested to cancel the service 3 days before the billing date, they decided to wait until 1 day after the billing date to actually cancel the service and then charge me for the next month's service in full.

    • +1

Did you get money back? Otherwise tio.

      • +1

I removed dodo's ability to direct debit me with the help of the bank when I noticed the delay. I got a cute SMS from dodo a day after the billing date that they are unable to charge me and only then proceeded to cancel the service.

        • -1

          Smart!

  • +1

    Dodo sucks a dildo

  • +4

Exetel is a better deal: $68.95 for 6 months and $70 cashback via cashback or shopback (you need to stay at least 3 months for the cashback).

  • +1

my neighbour had Dodo, lasted 3 weeks, slow connections, customer service was useless always blame nbnco. or wiring issues.
I recommended Superloop, 100/20mbps, 6mths $68.95. Don't know if I can link my referral code so we both get 10% off per month for 6mths.
    Hope this helps people.

  • I had that free month and didn't have any issues, maybe worth a try

I switched back to abb after that free month though :D

  • +1

    So glad I left Dodo
    Worst service ever

I have been with Dodo a few years ago and their customer service was bad. Really bad.
