Exetel nbn FTTP or HFC 500/50 Mbps: $100 Cashback (For New Exetel Customers) @ TopCashback AU

800

Stack with the nbn Exetel One Plan. $80/month ongoing, 500/50 Mbps. No Cap.

There’s no need to give us 30 days’ notice – though you’ll be charged for the rest of the billing cycle. For example, if your cycle starts on the 1st and you cancel on the 14th, you'll be charged for the full month. Alternatively, you can choose to ride out the service until the end of the billing cycle.

To ensure tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the "Get $100 Cashback" pink button to the Exetel website, use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • Cashback is eligible on nbn plans only (all other products or services are ineligible), and for new Exetel customers only. A new Exetel customer is defined as someone that is no longer an Exetel customer and has no active service with them. You must remain an Exetel customer for at least 90 days after placing your nbn order to be eligible for cashback.
  • Orders must be completed wholly online, and not negotiated via phone/chat etc.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • You must accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • You must always return to TopCashback and click the 'get cashback' button through to the retailer's website for each new transaction. Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.
  • To be eligible for cashback, all transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted/negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Good to know

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.
  • If any part of an order is cancelled / returned / exchanged / modified, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.
  • Any accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the cashback system will be banned and cashback forfeited.

  • What's the best way to cancel with them?
I understand they need 30 days notice.

    • +7

Use Exetel live chat. Old Exetel customers need to give 30 days notice.

New Exetel customers on the nbn 500/50 plan:

Want to cancel your service? There’s no need to give us 30 days’ notice – though you’ll be charged for the rest of the billing cycle. For example, if your cycle starts on the 1st and you cancel on the 14th, you'll be charged for the full month. Alternatively, you can choose to ride out the service until the end of the billing cycle.

    • Correct, so what I normally do since the bill circle is always in the middle of the month. Just send an email about 35 days saying that if they can give you any extra discount etc and that would be your cancellation notice if not.

  • +4

Good to seee they have got rid of the 30 day notice period.

  • +2

Tempted. But vs superloop might screw up my Plex server and gaming experience.

    • Im SL and need to stay 90 days for $105 TCB anyway. Then Exetel if this is around.

  • +10

Some pertinent details which may be pertinent to some, namely CGNAT only, VoIP not supported & help is limited to live chat.

Props to nospirit for the info.

    • +1

VoIP should still work with a seperate standalone service so long as they don't mind you pushing registration times that are super low in order to keep the connection alive, so I'm led to believe?

I don't have high opinion of RSP provided VoIP services anyway, many of them are quite inflexible compared to full fledged service.

  • +9

Warning: I signed up in April and still haven’t been paid. I have had a hard time with CAPTCHA due to their CGNAT that cannot be turned off. I will be switching to a different provider next month, regardless.

    • +1

Do you mean while using them as your ISP, you get constant captchas from random sites?
      Cgnat sounds pretty crappy.

      • +3

Precisely, I cannot even log into TCB without going through CAPTCHAs repeatedly for a good two minutes.

    • +4

Yeah I signed up in March with a topcashback cashback and still haven't been paid. It's been 'escalated' to Exetel but it seems if they don't respond then it doesn't progress.

      • @adam Is this a missing cashback claim?

Please contact TopCashback support in this link. You would expect a reply within 2 business days.

@deliriouss Exetel usually pays cashback in about 4-5 months. You can enquire with TopCashback support here.

My Exetel purchase on 29th Nov 2024 was paid on 25th March 2025.

        • @trixieb It looks like they have extended the payout period from when they confirmed it, without providing any reason. It was now gone up to 25 weeks.

          • @deliriouss: Sorry to hear. I've seen that before with another merchant when the merchant delays the payment. It does get paid but delayed.

            Best to contact TopCashback support.

        • Yeah, has been logged as a missing cashback claim since March, despite following up they just say "Waiting for Retailer".

          • @adam: It seems that orders with Exetel that tracked (not missing cashback claims) have an estimated payable up to 25 weeks recently according to deliriouss.

Your missing cashback claim would probably be the same sort of time frame. Please contact TopCashback support anyway.

I waited 7 months for a missing cashback claim from Cashrewards and reminded them a few times.

          • @adam: @carlJack Please check if your Exetel claim has been paid. A missing cashback claim was paid mentioned here.

@deliriouss Not sure about your tracked order.

      • Mine is from Feb. Still pending.

    • +1

      this exactly! Beware!

  • +2

Signed up to exetel via TCB since march, TCB still waiting on Exetel. Dont expect much.

    • -1

Signed up with SB less than a month ago, didn't even track.. Though that's not new for SB for me.

      • I assume you submitted a missing cashback claim with ShopBack.

        • -1

Yeah not hoping for much tho tbh, out of the three cashback sites, ShopBack has been the only one that doesn't track.. consistently.

My fault I keep using them - if this doesnt come through, I'll probably never use them again.

          • +1

@buckethat: I use mainly TopCashback and ShopBack. Rarely use Cashrewards.

I've had a few missing cashback claims with each of them and they have all been paid. Longest wait was 7 months with Cashrewards.

I use TopCashback app and ShopBack app, mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

Hope you get the cashback soon.

    • @Italianfriedrice Please check if your Exetel claim has been paid. A missing cashback claim was paid mentioned here.

      • +1

Can confirm it just got paid recently. Thanks for the heads up!

  • +7

    CGNat no thanks

    • +1

      What is cgnat?

      • +5

Exetel use CG-NAT which works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you join an ISP that allows you to turn off CG-NAT you can use remote access and host online P2P games again. You won't be affected if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

        • And even if your devices don’t use a cloud server, you can get a free mesh network sorted out anyway for free.

      • +5

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation. Basically, you share an IPv4 address with other customers. This can cause issues:

        • Unable to login to XBox (including XBox consoles) sometimes.
        • Being prompt with captchas or verify you are a human more often.
        • Unable to setup server(s) including VPN servers. Your router likely detects you are on CGNAT and warn you that you cannot setup VPN server on the router (IPv4).
    • +2

They do support IPv6, which is pretty good IMO.

      https://support.exetel.com.au/support-hub-article/Our-servic…

      • Just saw this- so is that a good alternate solution, ie overcome the issues of CGNAT? 🤔
        Thanks.

  • So actually how to properly switch NBN?

I have been using 4G until it is extremely bad around my new address.

    • Sign up with new provider. Easy.

      • What about the 30 day of notice period? Or I need to tell the new provider for specific start date? e.g. T+30

  • +2

Throwing in 2c, I'm also currently experiencing cashback issues with TCB for an Exetel service signed up on 4 March 2025 which is still pending resolution for over 5 and a half months.

    • @panpowa Please check if your Exetel claim has been paid. A missing cashback claim was paid mentioned here.

  • +1

March 2025 still waiting on retailer under missing claims.

    • @Roflcoptor Please check if your Exetel claim has been paid. A missing cashback claim was paid mentioned here.

  • +4

After experiencing extremely poor customer service from TPG in relation to random drop outs, I switched to Exetel a couple of weeks ago and I have been super impressed. It switched over within a few minutes of signing up, the cashback tracked automatically within an hour, the Internet has been great with no dropouts experienced.

  • +2

Please do look at the post for https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/917241 for IPoE that those with current PPPoE internet provider may need to update their config in their modem.

  • I've switched to this deal and after a couple of days of 500mpbs I've been out back on 100/20 plan for some reason that Exetel can't figure out, and there customer service has not been as good as it used to be, so just waiting for it to be fixed for last 2 months, they are asking me to run like 3 times a day speed test with pulling out different settings and switch in and off, completely useless so far.

  • +1

Still waiting for confirmation on my untracked Cashback since signing up in February…. Been having so many issues with untracked cashback with TCB. Looks like I’m not the only one experiencing this and all TCB can say are they’re “actively following up”…. Yeah, right, sure….

      • +1

I’ve sent follow ups in my missing cashback claim but it’s all just the same response “please wait” “we are actively following” “should get an update soon”…

        • @itsmehuey Please check if your Exetel claim has been paid. A missing cashback claim was paid mentioned here.

          • @trixieb: It was NOT paid and the claim is still sitting with Exetel and TCB customer support…

            • @itsmehuey: Check with @tightarse

              • @trixieb: funnily. after posting my response to you, it was awarded/approved. it really shouldn't have gone through such a tedious calming process..

                • @itsmehuey: Thanks for the update. Glad you got it. It was calm :)

                  • @trixieb: sorry that was a typo - should have read "tedious claiming process"..

  • This or tangerine?

    • I'm with tangerine, $74.90 1000/50 6 months but ending soon

  • +2

FYI I've had a ticket open with TopCashback since 11/02/25 for $100 cashback to signup with exetel that never tracked properly. In fact it has been so damn long that I have since churned away from exetel since the deals at the time only lasted 6 months

      • -1

I'm not sure if you're associated with TCB (your constant requesting people to follow up with support implies you are), but if you are can I suggest you raise something internally. There sheer number of people in this thread who are raising t he exact same problem makes it obvious its TCB's problem & not something numerous users should be being asked to follow up individually.

        • Not associated with TopCashback. I also advise the same to contact support with my other posts when there are issues with the company, whether cashback related or not.

I've also contacted TopCashback, ShopBack and Cashrewards support when there were issues. Unfortunately it seems the issues are resolved quicker when you contact support.

I've used ShopBack more than TopCashback with the bank/Apple Pay bonuses and gift cards.

        • @adam Will tag the rep @tightarse if he can look into this. Thanks.

      • +2

Yeah buddy I raised a support ticket 6 months and 7 days ago lol. I've been adding to the ticket as time has progressed and they've replied saying it's progressing so idk what else I can really do aside from wait. For the last 2-2.5 months they say it's with exetel and we're waiting on them but who knows hey

  • I presume this is ineligible if you use a Exetel One Plan referral code?

    • Will ask the rep @tightarse

    • +2

its only $1 off per month, not worth the risk of trying

  • Your address is not available. Please check with superloop. Weird.

    • You're in an opticomm building?

      • Just a normal residential house

  • Good plan no issues.

  • @stampella Will Exetel be providing an increase on the plan speeds when NBN Co increase the NBN speed tiers next month (Sep)?

    • +3

Old Exetel customers get a speed increase. 500/50 is the new speed for new Exetel customers.

You may have to change ISP to get the speed you want.

  • Still waiting on TCB from the last deal a month or so ago, nada

    • -1

Is this a missing cashback claim? TopCashback does not add the tracking manually. There is no tracking initially. After the claim is paid, then you will see the transaction track in your account.

You can check on the progress of your claim or add further info here.

      • +1

        "Hi there,

Your Missing CashBack claim has now been submitted to Exetel (via their affiliate network or representative management agency who run their online programme for them).

Please understand that this process is likely to take from four weeks to several months (often longer with contract/policy based transactions) to complete, and we may not be in a position to update you until the final decision has been made.

We ask members to remain patient during this time, if we do receive an update or we require your intervention we will get in contact with you via this system.

        Kind Regards

        The Missing CashBack Claims Team"

        • @jaypee06 Not sure about yours but the claim from Feb was paid mentioned here.

  • +1

@trixieb When does this cashback deal expire?

    • Will ask the rep @tightarse

      • @trixieb any chance you got an answer from rep on this?

        • +2

          @Daybreak3439 @Guenouse From the rep:

Hi. There is no end date at this stage from our perspective, however please note that Exetel can change or pull the cashback promo at any time. This is obviously something we have no control over. Cheers.

  • any options for static ip?

    • +1

      Nope.

  • Will CGNat cause issues with me VPN'ing into work?

    • +1

      CG-NAT can affect VPNs.

    • +1

Not usually an issue unless you're hosting the VPN

  • Dumb question - as a long-term Telstra NBN customer, can I port to Exetel while keeping my Telstra hardware (modem etc) or will I need to change my physical setup?

    • +2

You can re-use your Telstra modem/router. Don't change any settings.

  • +1

My cashback from feb is still pending.

      • +1

Nope.It still says "Waiting for retailer".

        • Hopefully paid now. Replied here.

  • If your cashback shows up, you can spend the money on booze to take away the pain of dealing with their support.

  • "Your connection is HFC

Unfortunately, our internet plan is not available for this address. The good news is that our friends at Superloop offer a wide range of affordable internet plans that would suit your address."

why wouldn't I be qualified even though I have an HFC connection?

    • Weird I have been Exetel and SL HFC no problems.

    • Got the same result. Previous Exetel user here. Also on HFC.

      • gave them a ring and they said it’s because my house has 2 nbn boxes and i need to get 1 of them removed? not sure what that means

  • +1

Previously I got rejected on similar cashback by SB. just beware

  • Lol funnily enough my cashback claim just got approved after 6+ months

    • Thanks for the update. That's a good outcome.

Exetel seems to pay in 6 months now even if it had tracked. Estimated payable for tracked purchases has been extended from 23 to 25 weeks.

  • It seems Exetel/TopCashback have paid the missing cashback claims from several months ago. Please check if you are waiting. @Xavier1128 Just letting you know.

  • +1

    Signed up this evening…
Within 5mins internet had dropped, reconnected with Exetel at 546/45, and tracked with TCB..
    All in all fairly happy!

  • Has anyone tried cancelling service exactly after 3 months (90 days) and received cashback?
Tired of never ending captchas since switching to exetel.
