Lying is definitely immoral so that checks out.

Wish you could get play points for movies in australia like you can in other countries the extended edition LOTR are available cheap right now. While I have got significanty benefit from this I would love some more!

Wait a minute the page for the extended edition says 10X points boost but the earn terms for Australia don't mention movies when other countries do. I mean the points boost does say all purchases.

Does anyone have any clarity on this?

So tempted to pull the trigger as i have never seen the extended editions.

I counts movies as well. Trigger pulled :) I guess it was just a really special deal as it normally doesn't.

Hopefully my journey is helpful to someone else :) I guess I will be watching movies for the next few days!

I've gotten a lot of credit from surveys but I never know what to buy and it ends up expiring…

    • +1

I just buy some fav movies/shows with mine.

I log into my kid's accounts for Minecraft, Roblox etc and by in app currency. I set up a calendar reminder a week before they are due to expire

      • seems you can't for youtube premium india or argentina. They give you two profiles

      Books in Play Books?

      • +1

Yeah, I buy a lot of eBooks - with my location set to the UK because the store has significantly more sales. I've got a gold membership which translates, points-wise, to min 1% back for everything once I convert it to credit, and regularly 4% when there's a bonus points multiplier. I also get minimum 6c-10c bonus credit per week, and a couple of times have won 50c-$1 via weekly bonus credit draw.

I usually check Amazon's monthly Kindle deals (the Play shop interface is horrendous for browsing) and 90% of them are price matched within the first week of the month. I'll then wait for the 4x multiplier that comes up once a month, and boom - a bunch of books for around $2 each with a further 4% off.

        • Really? How did you get a UK google acc? Aren't you required to provide a mobile no for verification?

          • @PeeDee: Possibly. I was living in the UK at the time and never switched it back when I returned, but I'm pretty sure I've set up a separate Australian account without a number? (could be wrong, or could have been made mandatory since.)

            • @Phanatic: Just want to confirm, you are seeing the currency in pounds?

              • @PeeDee: Yep. The downside is there are a whole bunch of Australian apps not on the UK app store (like banks and some food/delivery ones) if you're on Android, but fortunately you can have multiple accounts off one profile set to different regions and install apps from different regions.

If you're in the google ecosystem, survey money is an easy/free way to pay for extra storage. $2.50 per month for 100gb shared between family (or discounted per year). I easily sustain the monthly fee with surveys.

      • which survey site do you use?

        • The google rewards app.

          • @csider: Cool, thanks. Didn't know there was one

      • How do I change my method to my play store balance? I also have about $40 in credit from surveys and also pay for storage.
        [edit: nvm: figured it out]

      • I don't know where you frequent to get that much cause where I am in Inner Sydney sometimes get 2, mostly 1 never more. When I was in Melbourne, at least 3 surveys

        • I seem to get one almost every time I've been down to the local shopping centre… I've earned over $3 in the last week.

There was a period where I was getting nothing but in the past year it has ramped up. Probably because of my commute going past a few woollies and big shops. I get about 5 a week I'd say. (Vic)

Why do I need to collect points? I prefer not to spend any money.

Google can get stuffed. I want to keep my money and not collect points.
