Ok guys I think something fishy is going on.

When looking at search results for keyboards, the Lenovo Go Wireless Split shows as $117. But clicking on it and going to the page it shows as $219. So $100 discount would make it $119 which is more than the previously listed price.

Also the Thinkpad Compact USB keyboard is usually between $50 to $70 dollars. But is showing As $129, making it $30 which I think is an acceptable sale/clearance price for the keyboard.

Not saying getting something for free is a bad deal, just saying with some products you might be paying pretty standard prices.

    • There were a few items that did that for me as well, however given that it's "free" just give it a go with a few things you like and see if it's honoured

      • Yeah I was just adding to my comment.

"For those who are getting stuff under $100, maybe they just forgot to jack the prices on those products."

    • Had this happen on a few items. went to online chat and asked why product was showing one price and then when opening in new tab or adding to cart price increased. he seemed to think was website error but offered it for the cheaper price when i asked

    • There is probably a little bit of price jacking here and there but I think there are still a lot of great deals that you can get for free with the $100 credit.

      • Yeah the products I mentioned are the first 2 products I looked at, and I just noticed something was not right.

    • Message them and they will give you a new deal. I was offered 142 for the split

    • Yep I got a laptop sleeve which was $25~ when I clicked on it price was $99 lol

  • Got the Lenovo pad for $199. Thanks OP.

  • Ordered the $19 tab. Gotta be in it to win it, cheers OP!

  • -5

They likely wanted to offer this $100 credit and quietly jack all the prices up to make less familiar customers think they were getting an amazing deal.

And it looks like they had some kind of website error which failed to jack some of the prices. Well it serves them right for trying to fool new customers.

  • +3

$6 for a headset and webcam.

Let’s see if this get cancelled.

If not, colleagues will be jealous of my wfh gear. If so, they can continue watching me through the shitty laptop webcam and mic and deal with it.

          So in total $300 haha

  • Any chance they will charge the actual price? Or worse case they'll just cancel the order?

    • +1

charge actual price - no chance, it's already showing on my paypal list

      cancel the order - possible

      • Lol how did you pay with paypal, wouldn't let me apply it for paypal, worked when i went to checkout for card

        • +1

after i entered delivery details, it gave me the option to pay with paypal - the rewards were already included in final price
Done on my laptop, not mobile

    • Will most likely cancel them, but you never know !!

  • 8,200 clicks already, I'm scared even if it was a genuine deal.

  • Thanks OP. Got a webcam for $0.01.

  • Sent it on the powered USB-C travel hub for $49. Let's see if this gets honoured… (my guess is "no")

  • Lenovo cancelled the charger price error… seems more unlikely this gets honoured despite being on the front of their website. They don't have an asterisk with terms and condidtions even..

    • Except this isn't a price error, they actively chose to offer 10,000/20,000 rewards points upon signup. The only way they reneg is if there are too many orders or too many multiple accounts.

Knowing OzB users, the latter is what I am concerned about.

      • Might not be a price error but there was probably meant to be a minimum spend / additional criteria to activate the $100 credit.

        • The rewards system was designed without a minimum, why they chose to apply this many points on sign up baffles me, $20 / 2,000pts would have been more appropriate.

        • +1

would the ACCC make them honour it if not a price error, and it seems to be advertised without conditions on the website

      • +2

I'm pretty sure they can reneg for whatever reason they choose to when it comes to online shopping, they could come out and say the $100 was meant to be off minimum purchase of $500 and so on. I might be wrong though. Still hopeful they'll honour it, but there are definitely people currently sitting around making multiple accounts.

        • +1

They can reneg it 100%, they just have to pay the reversal fees for the partial payments made. The deal is as it was made, the person in charges just (profanity) up big time by offering too many points.

Normally I wouldn't expect this to be cancelled, its just that it was so popular, Lenovo may decide to sleeze their way out of it, which they have the right to do.

  • I got a "Lenovo Business Casual 15.6-inch Sleeve Case" for free, surprisingly this was priced at $99 lol

I bought a tablet and just got message from ShopBack that the cash back tracked. They might be paying us to take their goods.

    • I hope you mean Cashrewards. They have 14% 😅

  • +1

Pretty sure it'll be canned. Lenovo is notorious for not honouring their mishap, let see if that 65w usb-c charger order get canned a second time.

    • But they specifically decided to apply 10,000 rewards points worth $100, instead of say 1,000pt/$10. If they reneg it would be from abuse like multiple accounts.

    • They wouldn't actually charge us and ship this stuff will they? Feel bad for their order packers 🤣

    • I don't know about "notorious for not honouring their mishap", but my experience with recent Lenovo is that they are very stingy.
For example during a recent "sale period" I contacted them on chat asking for their "best price" on an expensive product because it wasn't reduced at all from months ago even though other products were on sale.
Their best offer was 10% off which was available to any given customer at the time by joining their rewards program.

I didn't go through with their order because they wouldn't budge on the discount. So with my past experience with Lenovo I seriously doubt they would suddenly be so generous as to offer $100 to everyone with no minimum spend.

      • -1

They're Chinese owned, stinginess runs in their vein.

  • +1

OOS? I just signed up and only got 2 bucks.

    • Try checking it out using desk top mode? Might help

    • Same….

If you can rejoice in anything if they cancel our orders, imagine the man hours this will take to undo. The zoom crisis lines being setup as we speak, the high priority emails, the angry bosses and the sweating underlings. People running crystal reports and oracle calls. Some guy swearing in some hong kong office.

    • +3

The beauty is that most of us would have paid a partial amount, meaning they have to pay the card providers anyway.

    • Paying 4-5 people probably $350 for the day + overtime is worth it considered it would have been easily over $200k TTV. ERP systems exist for this and there would be mutliple verification points in the business process so they can flag it easily.

      • Surely they still have to click to cancel orders one by one though?

        • Majority would get mass cancelled for payment verification. As the message flow would be pretty straight forward as Lenovo could do something with the card verification aspect.

      • It's still unnecessary spend!

        • Probably already started and reallocated live chat officers to this lol
