MS Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 LIMITED STORE STOCK ONLY $30 Cashback gives $44.99! - OW

370

Link is to the Officeworks site listing this as $79.00. I've seen it in two store on the clearance table for $30.

A quick check of the OW site list 3 other stores close by with limited stock - no guarantee that it will be $30 there though.

Coburg and Hawthorn had them at $30 - Hawthorn had a stack of them but they were going quickly with people buying more than one. RRP is $149.95 and the Microsoft cashback deal lists the cashback at $44.99

Hopefully you can find some more - I know the frustration of limited stock deals but this seemed good and other OW's indicate some stock (low). Call before visiting. Let's see if I make $15 on this LOL

P.S. It scanned at $79 but the guy applied the discount without me asking.

      dafaq?

    • Oh hey! You commented first, nice little achievement there my friend!

  • not sure but can someone pls check the T&Cs of the cashback deal - i think the 30% cashback only applies to the RRP and not a discounted price??

    • +1

Yes you get 30% of the RRP.

    • i even got cashback for a ms webcam bought on ebay.
it was a couple of yrs ago.

  • After trying wireless keyboards I really don't see the point.

However this one at least looks…. awesome!!

  • Could you post a receipt so that we can try pricematching?

  • Hawthorn Cleaned out…

    Three left on the table…

I pickup two.. and told another guy who was procastinating .. there was $45 cashback… on it..

We confirmed the details using the internet kiosk within the store..

    • curse you - that's my closest store !!

  • +1

confirmed that they aren't selling at this price at South Yarra and Richmond in vic.

careful when you ask them: i specifically asked south yarra if they had them on clearance at $30…he must have thought i said "eighty dollars", because when i went down, they said "it is clearance - $79".

they have 26 at Doncaster if you wanna try your luck…(didn't check, too far)

disappointing, cause i actually wanted one of those keyboards (if it was free, let alone getting paid $15 to take it)! if anyone bought a stack of them just to make $15 on the cashback, and isn't using/selling the actual keyboard, i would gladly take it off your hands!

    • Was at frankston store just after opening, they apparently had 1 in stock but nobody could find it :( I too noticed the 26 at Doncaster when they were checking stock levels at other stores… Might try another store later that isn't as far to travel to…

  • Have made a couple of phone calls. There are some stores in Brisbane have them in stock but they are selling at $79 dollars.

I have reserved one anyhow, with the attached receipt, I think I will still pay only $30. Any thoughts?

in the past, officeworks have not pricematched receipts for me. they've said that they will pricematch catalogue sales only, not receipts (even officeworks receipts, cause i had them too!).

but try your luck, you might get a lenient manager…good luck!

      • +1

Especially as receipt lists reason for price reduction is 'Soiled/Damaged'. Manager can say their stock is not damaged.

        • Good point

        • +3

but when they say that, you look surprised and drop the box on the ground and say "whoops, does that count as damaged now?"

        • "Yes, now if you could please pay for the keyboard you damaged." ;)

    • Which stores, thanks.

    • How did you go?

  • No stock Garden City, Brissie.

    • +1

Underwood and browns plain have them. they are too far for me.

  • None in Parramatta, NSW.

  • Brought 2 at Officeworks Chadstone (VIC) on Warrigal Rd - got there about 7.20 and there were only 3 on the shelf.

Took them to the counter and got them price checked. $79 - I mentioned they were a clearance item at stores including ones above and he price matched as a clearance item for $30 each.

Going to pair with Samsung Galaxy S3 as believe this is possible.

Under Microsoft T&C we are allowed 3 items now - does anyone know if it has to be done as two registered claims even though they are on the same invoice ?

    • To answer my own question - if you are claiming multiple items on one receipt, you have to lodge multiple claims according to the people who are processing the returns.

      • Just email/send 2 (scanned/photocopied/even take a photo - advice from promoter) copies of same receipt for 2 purchases - with 2 claims. I did that & got email that my 2 claims with copies of the 1 receipt has been validated & will receive cashback in 2-3 weeks. (Emailed a week ago.)

  • Upvote for great keyboard. I've been using one for going on a year now. My only issue (minor) with it is that it falls asleep very quickly and there's no way to control it on a Mac. I think in Windows it's possible to prevent sleep.

I'd grab another one in a heartbeat if I could get to an OW with stock.

ow werribee refused to price match. said $79 and ozbargain is crap. time to ban ow?

  • none at bris cbd. ps - must have been clearance s&d only. not standard stock

  • Called up Coburg store and they confirmed that they are selling them for $79, not $30. Pretty sure only Hawthorn East has it on clearance and it states as Damaged/Soiled stock on invoice too. Should change status to expired Op?

  • My closest store couldn't price match!

  • Went to Carnegie OW and called up Chadstone OW both refused price of $30.

  • The receipt has comment: Clearance ….. That is using the 'Soiled/Damaged' but the comment is still clearance….

  • Went to Melbourne Collins St store. Had copy of receipt attached to this thread. They only had two in stock, which were opened returns. Manager refused to honour Hawthorn store price because she said all stores have discretion to set clearance prices and she doesn't have to match it.

She said best she would do was $55. I took one anyway because it seems worth it for $10.

  • Can someone please post a 'normal' receipt without mention 'demaged' clearance?

    • I think mine says clearance - does the fact that it has this impact on the eligibility.

I would assume if mine only says 'clearance' and not damaged that I am still ok as this is just purely something on special ????

  • As usual, Bendigo store won't honor anything I see on Ozbargain. Suggested I drive to Melbourne - Shhhhhheah right!

  • Hi Guys - The one I bought had just 'clearance' stuck on the box rather than some other items which had the usual customer returns or damaged carton sticker on it. I think the guy at the checkout just chose a random override code. The boxes looked fine on most of the clearance stock of keyboards.

They did have some logitech 5.1 speakers there too which were customer returns but were an ok $40 - Z506 possibly

Perhaps Kalvin can check his receipt to see if it mentions 'soiled/damaged' as he bought two from Hawthorne.

Regardless - as the price matching seems to be random and Hawthorne are sold out I'll mark the deal as expired. I just hope this doesn't further reduce the price matching chance for some.

    Cheers!

Here's a receipt from Elsternwick but don't bother going there - sold out.
I had to ask really nicely to get this and they eventually did it as a price match with Hawthorn.

  • Went to the one in South Melbourne, they had two and they were both opened stock returned, one $71 and the other $69. They wouldn't match the discount, didn't push that hard, never really good at that kinda thing but at $35 its not a bad deal.

  • Went to mornington and refused by sales staff + manager as well, then went to keysborough and easy as you like after showing receipt. 2 left on the shelf just before 2pm.

    • +1

Nice to see that you got one - pricematch anywhere always seems to be pretty random!

  • Went to Elsternwick, one left in stock, unopened but at $79.

  • Went to Carlton NSW, stock run out though the Sales seems to agree the price matching to me, bad luck~

  • Doncaster store told me that they got an email about this and said a fraudulent receipt had been created and that stores had since been informed not to honour the price match. Some stores had unknowingly matched the price prior to being informed.

    • +3

      WTF .
Just general BS from them so they don't have to honor it.
There's two (genuine obviously who would bother) receipts in this thread that sure as hell aren't fraudulent The OP and many others bought them at Coburg and Hawthorn…. so thats all "fraudulent" too I suppose (massive eye roll)

Every receipt has a unique transaction number.
They are brimming full of it.

  • In NSW, no stock in Glebe or Five Dock

Visited North Ryde, was told they wouldn't price-match the receipt because the phone number printed on it for the Hawthorne store didn't match what they had on record, and this led them to believe it was a fraudulent receipt!

    • +1

LOL so I would commit the offense of fraud just to reduce the price of a keyboard from $79 to $30. Yeah really worth throwing my career away for. Plus get all details correct except for the phone number which is available online. I suppose Kelvin did the same as he stated he got two from there also.

      From the OW website:

      Hawthorn Officeworks

      612 Burwood Road,
      Hawthorn East VIC 3123
      03 9861 5200

Looks right to me but maybe they mistook the 5 for a 6 - crappy phone cam lol.

      • Yeah, it was truly ridiculous.

The manager later also said he wouldn't honour a price-match because it had been marked down for being soiled/damaged, which admittedly wasn't as unreasonable.

Anyway, thanks for posting the deal! It was worth a try.

  • Sales staff in Midland (WA) refused to price match the receipt as it was a soiled/damaged item. They only had one on display remaining which they offered for $49, not as good as $30 but still a good deal given the cashback. I am happy with the purchase and well worth the morning drive and the 5 minutes spend with sales staff. Thanks OP.

  • I just tried the Newport/Yarraville OW. The guy there was nice but said he can't match the price. Worth a shot.. FYI they had two left in stock @$79.

  • Werribee made up excuses. Second receipt wasn't soiled though :P Fact is it was on clearance at two stores, what are the odds that both had damaged stock?
