110

Saw this at The Grocery Club Rocklea on Saturday - $4.99 for a 12 pack of Mountain Dew Code Red Cherry Goodness! Normally these cans retail for around $2 each at places that sell American Soft Drink. Will probably be going back to stock up on some more!

so sad :( :( wish this was in melbourne!

  • What flavour is mountain dew anyways?

    • lemon/lime

Actually, it's supposed to be more "orange" than lemon/lime. I like it, but know people who think it smells and tastes like vomit..

        Personal preference as usual. :)

        • mountain dew is great i reckon

Right near my work, thanks OP. I didn't know about this place.

I looked on their website and notice that they've got american candy bars for 50c each (4 for $2, or 69c ea).
    Bargain! Twix peanut butter. Hersheys.

Got some of those too whilst I was there. The American Candy Bars are past their expiry date but the Twix PB and Take 5 are delicious!

      • past their expiry date

Bummer. It would be "best before" date though.

  • Ehhhhh wish we could order online, i'd pay twice the price!

The Grocery Club is famous for selling Goods that's passed "Best Before Date", so is this actually a bargain or poison?

This is what they say on the website:
"Some items we sell are deleted, slightly damaged, past best before or just a failed promotion. With this in mind the savings on fridge and freezer stock alone is up to 80% off normal price."

BTW, Selling goods that passed the "Best Before Date" is legal, but passed the "Used by Date" is illegal, just for those who's wondering.

I read an article a while ago about a man that decided to "challenge" the best-before dates.. He purchased a heap of items, and would only eat them once they were past their best-before dates, sometimes only a couple days, other times weeks.

He never got sick from any of it, even the grey chicken breasts a couple weeks past….. :/

I'd never go that far with meat, but canned goods, including drinks, are definitely high on the list of "should be fine waaay past best-before". Even more so if they are full of sugar..

  • Does anyone know where you can get these in nsw? I love mountain dew, would like to try one
