Some one did that at my local KFC…. And the actual "Scotty" had no dinner because they wouldn't replace it.
That sounds like the old "Chicken and Wicked Wings" deal that used to go for $25.95 ! That was the best KFC family deal ever IMHO. Wish they would bring it back.
Some poor sap will be short of wings and chips!
No doubt next week it will become a general deal without the app etc. I was lucky today that I was able to get a mix of wings and rib pieces, I know normally when they advertise it without the need for the app then they usually say that the piece types are set and that you can't request changes.
Is this deal today only or will it be available next week? I totally forgot and I'm home now and CBF going back out!! Dumb me!

Thanks OP, I visited my local at 10 last night and they said they only had eight pieces in the next 20 minutes so would I mind if they chucked in some tenders instead. I said no worries, drove to the window and it turned out they did have 9 pieces, and gave me four tenders as well anyway. The box was absolutely bursting at the seams so I weighed it - 1.175 kg!
PSA - The best method for reheating Leftover KFC, is to Heat it for 150 degrees Celsius for 12 to 15 mins. This is as per the recommendations that were on there packaging before people developed food poisoning due to not storing it correctly.
I usually do 180 but for a shorter time, but sometimes can be a little inconsistent.

Yeh don't mind 2-3 pieces when they are like $5, but 9….
Reheated is not bad, but its not the same as piping hot and crunchy. KFC seem to take more care with cooking when these sorta promos aren't on.
Air fryer
Reheating in an air fryer makes it so crunchy like Wicked Wing levels
agree, i've had either burnt or overly greasy under cooked pieces when these deals are on as i think they try to rush cook more batches due to overwhelming demand…

Yeap, it's kind of like drinking a can of coke.. first few sips are awesome and it gets worse after that.
Store I went to yesterday was absolutely smashed with orders, with some of us waiting up to an hour so heaps of disgruntled customers. The store manager eventually came out and asked if anyone was willing to drive to another store where their order will be honoured/transferred.

Got one box (app, drive thru), no dramas with survey for chips and orange juice. Crunchy, large pieces (4 thighs!!). Can't believe this is the same price as 10 years ago.
Got 3 large drumstick pieces and 3 thighs on average per box!

I went to order it last night but it wasn't in the app!? I even restarted the phone and opened it again in case something hadn't been updated. Looked in every category 3x times.
I read previous comments that might mean that particular store has run out of their allocation of 9 for $9.95.
Oh I didn't realise each store had an "allocation" they could sell. Thanks. Until I came in here, I assumed it must have a one-week only thing this time.
IT gets so ridiculously busy at peak times at the Doncaster VIC store near me it is not worth the wait (last time this deal was on i waited 15 mins!). Can't be bothered going out in the cold after 9pm either when its quieter either.

Actually I've had 2 good weeks near dinner and 1 soggy week near lunch. KFC is just so inconsistent.

Got a fresh batch of Original Recipe, but it was so greasy and a bit soggy. A sad end.
2/4 weeks of quality from my local. Typical KFC hit or miss rate.
I weighted the big round box of 18 pieces. 2.1kg including box.
Ordered 9 pieces of chicken for $9.95. Picked up the order and in the bag was 10 pieces of chicken, 10 wicked wings, 3 large chips and a large potato and gravy. Lunch is sorted for tomorrow as well. Ozbargained!!!
