iPhone 13 128GB $999, iPhone 13 Pro 128GB $1449, iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB $1599 Delivered @ Telstra

3190

Looks like as same as the last month's Telstra day deal prices: iPhone 13 $350 off and pro and pro max versions $250 off. Has the outright buying option and offer valid until the 15th of August. Probably JB-HiFi will price match as last time, OW will price beat if you are lucky!

PS: If you could get a price match from JB-HiFi don't forget to use discounted gift cards to pay! (eg: ShopBack has 2.5% off JB gift cards that you can buy right away)

    • Only Boost because Boost uses Telstra's billing system. We used to get Telstra Plus points with Boost renewals (but Telstra closed that loophole long time ago). To download the invoice for my Boost renewal, I actually go to Telstra site.

iphone 14 out in 6 weeks

    • -1

      I don't know why you were downvoted…

You are right, but - The iPhone 14 non-pro model has the same processor and will have a US$100 price increase. You can buy the iPhone 13 now for less.

      • This is speculation. Some rumour sites suggest there may be a price increase on the upcoming 14 Pro, but there is no mention of any price rise on the 14.

NOBODY knows what the price will be until Apple formally announce it in ~6+ weeks’ time.

      • but the notch will be 15% occupied space for 13 mode and for 14 the notch will only occupy 5% of screen space plus 14 has a larger battery and they tinkle bell the chip to ooze more shingdings for the 14 model only

    • iPhone 14 will obviously be far more than this.

Same as 13 RRP at least, possibly a bit more.

    Any help?

  • Any idea what Telstra back order times are usually like?

i know OW doesnt price beat, would they price match???

  • Thanks for placing an order with us today. Unfortunately, we're unable to proceed with your order right now as we need to physically see your ID.

    If you'd like to place your order again, please visit your local Telstra store with three forms of ID and your proof of address;

    1. Your driver's licence or passport (with your photograph & signature).
    2. Two other forms of ID, such as: Medicare card, bank card or birth certificate.
    3. Proof of address (your lease agreement or purchase of land contract).
    4. For businesses, the original certificate of Company Registration (or for sole traders, partnerships, or trusts, the original certificate of Business Name registration) is also required.
    • Not outright?

Are you trying to signup to a plan with no Telstra account?

  • Just walked into a Telsra store and walked out without any problems (I am a boost customer) after getting errors online.

Ok Telstra just lost an easy sale. Ordered an iphone 13 outright and received an email asking me to come to the store to provide ID. Whatever ok I’ll go. Turned up with passport, license, medicare, bank cards. Only to be told I also need to provide a tenancy agreement or land title to show I own the property I reside at.

First of all, I arrived with more forms of ID than banks require but apparently for Telstra it’s not enough. They also want to record my property holdings. No thanks. I’ll wait for another retailer to offer the phone at the same price who is willing to sell it to me without any BS.

What a ridiculous request from a telco provider.

    • +3

Did you ask whoever requested your tenancy agreement or land title what on earth such info was needed? Photo ID and Medicare card etc are usually more than sufficient.

      • +1

I did but the people in the store don’t really know everything. The request came from my online order, something to do with security.

But with all the ID I’ve already brought and the fact I’m purchasing outright, I refuse to provide anything related to my properties because it’s none of Telstra’s business.

        • I would have told the person that I was homeless and laughed in its face.

  • +2

That’s a great price for a phone that will be really good for a long time.

  • JB should price match. Got my 13 pro 256gb Sierra Blue price matched for $1569.

After Shopback cashback and Coles Mastercard discounts, only paid around $1400 during the last Telstra day sale.

    • +1

JB rep explained to me earlier today that the previous price matching of the Telstra Day sale was a short period of competitive pricing that won't be occurring again in the near future, unfortunately

      • +3

Had absolutely no dramas price matching an iPhone 13 256GB Sierra Blue at JB earlier today. Telstra even had no stock of the specific model, but the JB sales rep had no issue with that.

Might've been just the specific guy that I talked to.

Got one without a plan!! What are you on about?

      • +1

Lol, I think I get it now. At $999 it's like the lowest price on eBay. I'll revert my vote.

    • +1

I’m already with boost and had no trouble getting a iPhone 13 outright from my local Telstra store. They found my boost account and used it to process the sale.

  • Why don't they accept proof of age for id, I don't have a drivers licence so I can't even order it online…

  • +4

telstra has a lot to learn about being a retailer, that's all I can say, after trying to buy a phone outright.

  • how long it takes to receive the phone?

  • +4

Ordered yesterday morning and my iPhone Midnight 128gb just arrived.

    • They were quick with the Telstra deal as well.

    • Got my Midnight 128gb this morning as well. Ordered another Starlight 128gb and it is in backorder. Hope it can be dispatched soon.

    • Did you receive the tax invoice? My tax invoice shows as $0 for the amount payable.

      • You can’t claim GST on this purchase! No TRS

  • +3

Walked into my local Telstra shop and asked to buy an iPhone on the $999 deal.
They weren't sure if I needed a plan, or needed to activate a pre-paid SIM first, or as it is business week if I needed an ABN to get the deal.
So they just tried to sell me one outright first without any service on my account and it worked.

  • Just bought a 13 from Albury Telstra. No issues. Plenty of stock. Didn’t need plan

  • Most colours are back-order, how long do they take to deliver in this case???

    • Ok these iPhone 13's are pretty much out of stock everywhere (unless you want a pink one)! JB Hifi website indicates delivery on the 28th of September!

  • +1

My A33 arrived this morning. Ordered yesterday morning. Pretty good turnaround time I reckon.

  • Any way to work around the Telstra ID issue? I'm with Optus, would they price match.. or would purchasing a 10 dollar boost SIM do the trick?

    • Depends on store I think. I got mine in Albury and no mention at all about networks. Heaps of stock and colours too.

  • Any idea of a delivery date? If it is as late as "28th of September" (mentioned above), I would prefer to cancel the order.

    • I would place and hold the order till iPhone 14 release, you have a chance to cancel or proceed after comparing specs and price.

  • Does anybody know how to get the tax invoice from Telstra?
I only got a paper with order ID etc, not even a price mentioned.
Checked my emails and Telstra app/ my Telstra but also nothing.

    • +1

Telstra emailed me a Tax Invoice with proper details, so I am assuming they will email one to you too in due course.

      • I actually ordered in July and didn't get tax invoice via email.

        • My bad. I can access it through the My Telstra App. It was not emailed to me.

          • +1

            @webtonmoy: Thanks for the input.
It was not in the Telstra app before (I have screenshots).

There's now a new "Mobile/internet" section that contains the invoice Telstra just emailed to me.
This only showed up after my complaint to Telstra support (and Telstra initially saying I would have to go to a Telstra shop).

            • @johnmelb: And it's gone again now. Not visible in Telstra app anymore.
Forgot to take screenshot while it was there :-(

I was able to purchase outright without a Telstra ID in-store at North Syd. They were happy to create a new Telstra ID knowing I wasn't getting a plan with it too.

    • Did they ask for any form of an ID ?

If you see above one person was asked for tenancy agreement..etc although they provided more than 100 points of ID.

      • just drivers licence

  • Nice. Got a Pro 256 graphite in store this afternoon at Nowra store. Just needed license for ID, and for some reason a different email than the one I already use for the my Telstra app. 🤷‍♂️

  • went to the telstra store in HP and bought it without any problems or having to buy any plan…

they didnt give me a tax invoice so i can use it to claim gst at airport trs, so i must log into telstra ID and download the pdf receipt? that can be use at airport to claim tax back?

    • Going to HP today to try the same

How come you didn’t get a tax invoice from them?

    • Just bought mine today. Sorry Telstra does not have GST on phone purchase > GST = 0.00. Can’t claim TRS.

      • on the pdf invoice says incl $160.82 gst

        • If you don't mind to share the pdf (please cover your details)

      • They will send you tax receipt with full amount after 1-2 days via text message. You can print it and claim TRS

    • Yes you can, I just claimed it today at the airport

Stopped by coles to grab $2 starter sim. Bought prepaid $5 service, registered to get Telstra ID and just placed an order.

No problems price matching a iPhone 13 256gb (on back order) at Jb Hifi Wollongong. Just needed to prove I was a Telstra customer which I used my Belong ID.

  • Thanks OP, hubby just got his iPhone delivered today!

Edit I think he ordered green or something unusual so might have been why it was actually in stock

  • Can someone explain how I can buy the iPhone 13? I signed up for a Telstra ID but I am getting the following error message when I try to buy the phone outright:

    Unable to process your order
You need to have a service with us to buy a device outright. If you don't have a service, you can only purchase a device outright with a plan.

  • Bought a 13 128gb Green from North Sydney Telstra. No issues.

    • Do you need a telstra ID or not?

      • +1

The representative creates one if you don't have one. I wasn't a Telstra customer.

        • I went to Telstra and the rep said in a harsh way I can't purchase them without a postpaid plan.

  • Error:
    Unable to process your order
You need to have a service with us to buy a device outright. If you don't have a service, you can only purchase a device outright with a plan.

    • +1

Probably you have to go to a Telstra store. Today I went there and grab a one. Unfortunately I don't have any Australian verification document, so I had to signup for the $58 postpaid plan, will cancel at the end of first month.

  • Could anybody confirm if they got managed to buy one outright from a Telstra store without adding any plans near Doncaster 3109.
Helping out a mate since they got denied to purchase before without a ABN.
Feel free to pm me the name of the employee since that might help.
    Thanks in advance

Just went to JB and they were happy to price match once they confirmed you already have a Telstra plan. JB chat and contact centre have a strict no match policy on Telstra as that is official head office policy and they have to abide by it. Stores have more discretion to bend the head office policy so even on JB chat, they suggested to go to a physical store to price match. But YMMV depending on which store you go to and who you speak to

    • Agree, yesterday I went to a JB and they were willing to price match. Unfortunately all the phones of the one I wanted to purchase were sold out and they said they can't backorder for price matching.

  • Hi All

Just FYI I ordered on Sunday and got mine this morning. Was really surprised this morning.

  • Any update from anyone that ordered on back order?

    • Ordered iPhone 13 (256GB Midnight) on 9/08. No updates in status beyond the initial order confirmation and order estimate received the following day.

    • Got a text message saying sorry for the delay they’re going to send when stock is back.

      • How long between order and text message?

edit: I should add I ordered through Telstra Plus.

        • Ordered on 9/8 got text yesterday 17/8

          • @alteclan: Similar to me. I ordered on 9/8 and got the text on 16/8.

I did jump on chat to see if there was any update and the agent advised that they are expecting a stock shipment on 31 August, so delivery would likely be after that.

            • @DooDah: Just got a message my order got dispatched. Yay!

            • @DooDah: @Doodah, received a text late this afternoon with dispatch details. Maybe an early drop?

              • @benac: Yep I also got my dispatch message last night :) 256gb iPhone 13 Midnight.

                • +1

@DooDah: And it was delivered yesterday. All things considered, pretty happy at how quick it arrived. Maybe some more comms would have been nice after the initial order.
