  • wow a Bosch branded lawn mower for $109.20?
i thought an ozito at that price would have been good enough never knew bosch mowers were cheap

    • +1

I have it. It's "ok". Very plasticy. Does an ok job at the lawn.

      • +1

Agreed. It doesn't go low enough (i.e. 37mm). But the good thing is I don't have to visit my local petrol station when I do my lawn.

        • 37cm is the width of either the blade it'self or the 'deck' the area the blade is spinning in. It is nothing to do with height
It means you need to go back and forth more times, as the strips it cuts are thinner, compared to a petrol mower that may be closer to 50cm. It matters more the larger your lawn in

        • Haven't you heard of a jerry can? You can fill up when filling your car and 1 fill should last you quite a few mows. Definately worth it for the power and speed of the job. CBF running cables too!

    • +5

Bosch has two very different quality lines, there consumer stuff is basically Ozito with a Bosch sticker. Don't confuse Bosch blue with Bosch green they are completely different beasts

Eh if it wasn't just electric, its ok for someone who has a small lawn with few square metres.

  • +21

ARM lawn mowers are more efficient than x86

    • +11

But are less compatible maybe, It's the RISC you take

      • Call me back when an M2 is available…

        • +2

          Okay M8

  • Are these even powerful enough for fairly long thick grass?

    • If you are careful and pull instead of pushing.

    • +1

I have this and would not recommend for long grass. It is great for normal lengths.

    • Yeah if you consider 10mm long.

    • Got a Bunnings generic one from years ago, they are actually decent enough, just set to highest height and go through a couple times.

Personally I ordered the cordless one for 194, the cord does getting really annoying.

    • If it's too long or gets stuck, i have to put the height level on 5 for the first round and then on 2 for the second round.

    • As good as any standard petrol mower.
      It's 1400W, that's just under 2hp.
It's a powerful petrol mower that is more than 1.5hp.

    • Use an edger first if your grass is knee deep

  • +6

    Is this Exynos or Snapdragon?

  • +2

    Band 21?

  • what would you do

For the last few years, we've been dragging my brothers lawn mower back and forth from his house to my parents to cut the grass. It's light and battery operated and only 7 minute drive. We have to cut the grass (I.e parents can't). I've been eyeing out a cheap mower to keep at my parents to avoid having to drag the other one around. "it's so cheap" it's hard to not to buy it but it's also a waste since I/my bro have to cut the grass anyway. So the only thing it saves is another 10 years of putting the lawn mower in and out of the car. That's not completely nothing for $100.

    • +4

      Buy the bosch

    • My first inclination is to say resist the urge to buy. But if you do, let your brother know that the new mower is his when his current one breaks, so this purchase is useful now for you but aldi a thank you and useful for him in the future.

      • good point re acting as a back up if the other dies

  • +3

Buy it man. $110 is one dinner for the family
I got one of these. It's pretty good and does the job. Bosch

    • haha that's what I think of, it's one lazy dinner. but didn't know if I was being too wasteful

      • I say the same about formal shoes. Im on my fifth pair this year

    • +2

You could say that about so much junk though… You won't get far in the end.

  • Been using on my lawn for 6 months, does the job,
It ignores borders, is corded so you need to keep an eye on the wire always.

For this price is a steal. I just spent extra $10 for 20m extension cord as our lawn is slim but wide

    • +2

Always keep the cord between your legs and cut in a zig zag, back and forth slowly moving away from the powerpoint.

When you turn, the cord will only be in the lane's you just cut.

      • Thx, will try next week.

  • How is the 36V cordless one for 186? Can we use the Oztio battery with it?

  • +1

    Oh Wow.
this mower bring lots of memory of my first mower bargain shipped from Amazon UK :D

Had it for few years and it's quite tough.
I used it for small lawn (a unit) and as well as after I moved to a bigger property to mow a lawn 5 times the size of my previous one.

For the price its very good, the blade is quite sharp and the motor is quite strong.
The only hassle is you have to use long extension chord.

    • Ditto.
Mine was abused for about 6 years before the motor seized.
Not terrible, but not great either.

  • Good mower just powerful and convenient enough for my front lawn, had it for 3 years and still going strong.

    • Manual is a workout.
