I ordered a hoka clifton 8 for my wife yesterday, They are supposed to be more durable but a bit heavier than rincon's. I read that Mach 4 is not durable, so best to avoid that.

Just be careful with storing your shoes (specifically sneakers) for too long as they can deteriorate. A few years is okay but if you go through them very slowly they can fall apart
Yeah I had this happen once. I leave them in a dry dark wardrobe before I open them, tend to go through a pair every 4-6 months with 2-4 runs per week. It's a bit of a risk to buy so many but I guess it's worth the roll of the dice for me.
If you go through them that quick you’ll be fine; it’s more if you leave them lying around for years at a time the rubbers and glues start to go

New Balance 1080 are nice, but I think they were really cheap during eBay sale?
I got 3 pairs of 1080 v11 for $90 total during the Iconic NB sale.
According to my partner the 1080 V11 is inferior to V10 due to the shape of the heel. NB have reverted to old design in V12. V11 seems to be much easier to find on sale than V10/V12.
Yeah the v10 or v12 are reviewed as the preferred shoe model. Doesn’t mean the V11 isn’t right for you though.
I tell you what, the NB trail shoes are more comfortable than the latest Under Armour runners I bought!

Can anyone recommend a pair of running shoes, please. I mainly run on treadmills max 3 times a weeks, other times I tend to do a walk around the block for about 30mins every now and then. I'm 180cm tall and 80kg in weight

It's very tough to say. Wide foot, narrow foot, pronation, toe box width, heel offset…start with what you know about your foot and back etc then take it from there with trial & error I think. FWIW I used to wear Asics but now swear by Mizuno.

I actually exercise and hike, ride a bike etc. weekly multi km hike. Still haven’t needed to replace my Aldi special. There would be thousands of km on them. They don’t look brand new, but who cares, they’re shoes. I don’t understand the fascination with footwear…
Just as an example I suffer from pronation when walking and running. If I don't wear supportive footwear I get a very sore lower back and legs. Corrective footwear makes this a non issue, but eventually the compression cycles through the footwear render the shoes ineffective at preventing pain. At that point, it's time to swap.
