This or Creative V2 for $45?

    • I too am interested in how this compares

On a side note the v2 is coming up as 49 for me

    • +1

I can vouch for the V2, but dont have the Lenovo to compare other than some comments below.

      • Mic on the v2 is great, and cancels background noise well while picking up my voice well too. I use it for WFH, and generally have a moderately noisy background (with family and pet birds in the kitchen, my study is a room away with door closed).
      • Camera is good too and works well in average or low light.
      • Overall good unit.

when Lenovo was giving away free money, I got the Lenovo LC50 which was a few bucks more. very good webcam

the reason I didn't pick this one is I have narrow bezel monitor at home. this white one will definitely obstruct some of the screen real estate

    • I still can't believe they just did that

      • What happened?

    • I had the problem with the bezel with this unit, solved it by taking the lens cover off and using that to boost up the camera.

    Also $29 at Officeworks

  • +10

Bought this bad boy at Officeworks for the same price a couple of weeks ago. It's good bang for your buck. It does have a very wide camera angle though, so more of my room is showing that what I would've liked. It's also not great in low light, but you should use good lighting for video calls anyway

    • Thanks, I'm after a non-extra wide cam. You saved me.

    • Yeah it's very wide which means I don't need to adjust if for a standing desk but it then picks up a window and then messes the auto brightness. The mic also sounds like a bit of a tin can I've been told. Does block a small bit on top of my screen. OK for $29 though.

      • Yes, okay for $29.

Having said what I did about the wide angle and low-light quality, I have to also say that I don't regret the purchase. Does exactly what I need it for and I'm happy I didn't have to fork out more for a web cam

  • Awesome. Thanks all for the feedback! Needed a webcam for new desktop setup

  • How is the microphone quality?

    • +1

      Surprisingly good.

I had issues with volume on actual headsets. I speak pretty quietly and it was mostly OK but with some people there were problems.

With this webcam people who have had problems hearing me now hear me very well.

      • …and everyone else now thinks you've decided to shout at them :)

        • WHY DO YOU SAY THAT ?

    • Personally I find it quite average (a bit tin can sounding and slight buzz) but the mic on my last webcam had a bad buzz so it's still an improvement. There are youtube comparisons that demonstrate the sound.

  • I got this for free when lenovo decided to give free money few weeks ago…

    • so is it worth the outlay?

      • Does the job if you need one. Pretty wide view though unfortunately.

  • +2

It does have a VERY wide camera angle!!! BE AWARE

    • use the privacy shutter to reduce the wide angle:)

  • Only 2 megapixels, how good is it really?

    • +1

It's full HD. How many megapixels did you think were in full HD?

This or $1500 iphone 14 as a webcam

    • +1

      51 of these.

  • I got one in the last deal, it's ok but a lot of noise in the image.
