      • +1

And the shops will have it starting at 2200 citing covaids, hahH

      • +3

Why do you care if people wait? You run a shop that sells these or something?

        • -3

Why do you care if people don't wait and buy now? You scared the price not keep going down or something? lol.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: I don't care if people buy now and my comment history shows as such - I've said multiple times that people should pay what they're willing to pay. Nice attempt at a gotcha though.

    • I raise your 1080 with my 970! Any other 970s still rocking too? Oh yeah

      • +1

        Yep 970GTX still going strong.

        • Respect brother!
Plans to upgrade soon or nah?

          • +1

@Section: Meh will prolly wait until it dies or a super-bargain comes along. Though the last time I did that my current card died about a month out from the 10 series release so I had to get the 970. :)

      • +1

yeah my housemate still gaming on his steambox/tv with my old GTX970

    • I'm still running a Radeon R9 390X, starting to get hard to ignore the deals, but might as well see what happens when the new stuff is announced.

  • -1

$399 by the end of the year.

    • +12

Jensen would probably burn his leather jacket collection before he lets that happen

      • Then let Jensen burn his leather Jacket.

  • waiting for the 4000

    • Nah nah nah mate, clearly you should wait for 5000 series

  • +5

3080 12gb should be this price by now

    • -6

but its not, thus the HODLers are WRONG! as always.

  • +2

Nah, just wait for 4000 series, Nvidia and retailers is getting desperate

  • +6

Stand your ground and the price will hit the floor, there's a huge oversupply of 30 series cards which are EOL. They're running out of time to clear warehouses full of these

    • +1

True, the only people who oppose our HODL, are those poor guy whom paid double or more for these card a year or so ago.

    • +1

the oversupply only comes form the mining stocks, used partially broken cards.

brand new cards will hold steady.

your choice to buy cheap ex-mining cards, or brand shining new with warranty and support.

      • +3

No, not that many mining cards have hit the secondary markets yet.
New rumors from AIBs suggest Nvidia is offering discounts to suppliers for selling off old stock. Hence EVGA 3090 Price cuts over in US. Nvidia also buying back GA102 dies from AIBs. (Probably a business strategy to claim it as an Geforce Cloud asset for depreciation tax shielding or expense write off)
Anticipated 4000 series cards (AD102) are probably going to be paper launched in a couple months followed by AMD launches. Significantly higher power consumption and TSMC 5nm process will undoubtedly make it perform better than existing cards.
I personally recommend getting by with a lower end card if you want to buy one now. Like a sub $400 6600XT

        • +1

Totally agree. That's my plan. And then upgrade to 4000 series in 2 years time. And… at the end of the day… Not much from gaming industry to utilize top graphics cards anyway.. Cyberpunk maybe.. But still…

        • -1

most mining cards have reached ROI late last year, majority of miners don't care to sell the cards, they can leave them in a shack for years to come as they already made profit from it.

oversupply doesn't mean price to hit rock bottom nor hit the market.

those copper heatsinks can be recycled and cheap source of materials for 4000 series.

          • @[Deactivated]: Probably still being used today, mining 1060s weren’t available last boom until RTX 2000 series came out. Polaris then became incredibly cheap (RX480) as later generations came out and were more energy efficient so many miners switched to it. By this, I don’t mean the majority of miners as in those who bought a single 3080 and started mining on it, but rather large warehouses filled with custom racks over in China.

The mining demand still exists unlike the state of the crypto market back in 2017 so it’s likely that there’s still a reason to continue using those cards before selling them off. I do believe some are available in China’s secondary markets though. 3080s will still be in the farms until there’s a more energy efficient alternative to replace them with.

Salty crypobro logic right there "I made the purchase price back on my house through rent, so now I'm burning it down".

lol, no. all you wannabe millionaires are just upset that everyone's jumping ship on your ponzi scheme.

  • I wouldn't go as far as calling this a no-brainer when RX7700 is just around the corner and likely to be 20-40% more performance than 3070 at similar price point

  • +3

The best thing is to wait for the next-gen card, you have nothing to lose, current gen card will only drop further in price.

  • +1

hodl more and get these retailers to panic dump as the 4xxx series comes soon.

  • Lmao non-lhr probably works for Nvidia as he seems to shill for buying overpriced opus

    • Just downvote and report he has nothing useful to say other than if you don't want to pay 3 x the real price of a nvidia card then your poor … lol

    • +3

Everytime he makes a comment it reads like someone having a mental break.

  • how is 3070 vs 3070ti?

  • 8gb not enough ram for an $800 card.
