Lots of sneaky little restrictions keep coming up. One they added recently, they now detect if u plug-in a usb hub, so there's no way to connect a usb drive anymore to play your own content.

      That's so dumb.

I got rid of my vodafone tv box when I got this and went through many hubs for USB storage, none of which worked unless I forked out for a more expensive one.

Seems they've just gotten rid of it completely now. Wish I kept the voda box.

      • And their theory on drop in amps has been debunked on Youtube, even powered hub, and those that support large amps passthrough are being detected & blocked. It just blocks itself at boot-time without recourse.

    • Most routers support usb storage which act as dlna server, my telstra modem gen 2 supports usb playback via plex, it might be slow but worth a try I guess

Hmmm I did the recent firmware upgrade and still listen to music files on an external USB drive plugged into a hub. I also use a USB remote with keyboard. It's a C type USB hub.

      This one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003538714629.html?spm=a2…

Used in conjunction with this OTG splitter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003954612771.html?spm=a2…

I did try to use a standard USB hub with the splitter but that didn't work, i think it affected the OTG circuitry.
