I got myself one.. was about to post the deal here but you beat me too it :)
All time low for this card

Aussie RRP for this was $1049 from the $579 US MRSP
    https://www.kotaku.com.au/2020/11/amd-radeon-rx-6800-xt-6800…

    • Haha nice. I would get one myself but bloody monitor is g-sync only

      • Funny.. i never use either gsync or freesync :) i just keep my screen on 144hz and game.. never really had an issues

      • How old is your monitor? More recent displays with hardware G-SYNC (not G-SYNC Compatible) can be used with VRR on Radeon GPUs.

G-SYNC Compatible displays are almost universally compatible with FreeSync.

        • +1

How do you check if a G-Sync monitor supports variable-refresh-rate on Radeon GPUs?

          • @nushydude: In theory, most if not all hardware G-SYNC monitors that came out since early 2020 should support VRR on AMD GPUs, based on the publish date of this article. As before, anything that's "G-SYNC Compatible" will already work as they're essentially just FreeSync monitors underneath.

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any specific way of checking which hardware G-SYNC displays work with AMD GPUs outside of that.

RRP is $949, still a really good deal though.

My brain thought this was an RX 6800XT for way too long.

  • +6

I paid more than this for an 6600 XT…………….

  • +2

Guess this card can comfortably game on 2k res @ 100+ fps top video quality for most 3A? if dlss and rt are not within scope of consideration.

    • +2

RT will work well if used with FSR 2.0 ( if the game supports it )

Either way… you wont be buying ANY Next gen RX7000 or RTX4000 series cards with 16GB's of ram for anywhere near this price for at least a year maybe more.

I expect a RX7600XT, RTX4060 to be around this price at launch with 8GB's or ram on both cards :)
They will perform great but AMD and NVIDIA really want you to buy a higher end product and will cut costs in the ram department to do it.

    • +3

In most games yeah. It beats the 3070 Ti overall. If it's AMD optimised it'll be up there with a 3080.

    • +2

I use the reference 6800 on a 34" 3440x1440 monitor, it runs very well. Can't think of anything I can't max out.

  • +4

Keep your guards up, the 6600 crowd is coming

  • +1

Should I get this or the the 6600?
    There's also the 6800XT for $806

    • +1

      or wait for 6900XT for $900 ?

    • +2

RX6600 will play most everything fine above 60FPS at 1440p. but if you want 144FPS at 1440p this is your card

      • But 6900XT is more future proof :-)
And it is needed if you game at 4K.

        • not really… we have next gen coming out with mirage getting close to the 6900XT

          • @vid_ghost: But next gen will cost significantly more.

  • "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."

  • I was laughing at other deals, but this one seem like a pretty decent price.

How does fsr stack up compared to dlss though?

    • +1

fsr…. not very good..around 75^% the image QTY of DLSS … FSR 2.0 though is 90^% the image QTY of DLSS
AMD will continue to optimize this over time.. they are playing catch-up but moving fast. More game devs need to add support for FSR2.0

      • Who is actually using DLSS though? It seems to just be for upscaling to 4k from an already high resolution, in just a few titles, with debatable value vs rendering in native.

For the record I just bought an Nvidia card because I need other features for machine learning, but DLSS is something that people should ask if they really need and prefer.

  • +1

Really tempting price, close to the $650 I picked up my RTX 2080 for in late 2020. But I don't need a new GPU to play 5-10 yr old games at 2560x1080.

    • +2

yes you do, what sort attitude is that?
      :(

  • Anyone notice that the picture on the ebay page has a 6800xt on the box? Gives the impression its a 6800xt

    • But the first pick shows 6800 (non XT)

      • +1

Yep but there are an additional two pics with 6800xt

  • Can this help me get 144 FPS all max out under 4K?

    • At 4k? No
      Some games, maybe

  • +1

    For an extra $90 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185312882193?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…
The 6800xt is a surprisingly much stronger card.
Works out if you don't mind switching brands
Alternatively an extra $135 for asus

  • This will be under $450 after eth merge. Just hold another month.

    • At some point the sale price to AIB partners needs to meet a minimum… They will simply stop production of the GPU's onto graphics boards if the price drops too low otherwise they will be losing money for each card they sell due to the price already paid to AMD. They will try and give the chips back to AMD or ask AMD to make up a new model to recycle the dies.

      • Why would AMD or Nvidia care about too much? There are so many manufacturers begging them for the new chips because they are the only two big whales in the chip world. If the current manufacturers are not making them satisfying, they would easily find replaced ones who keep producing the graphic cards as beside the chip, what else are worth for that high price of graphic cards?

    • lol…. keep dreaming

  • +4

    Price prediction 16 Sep:

    6800 - $400
    6800 XT - $500
    6900 XT - $600

    • +2

      I hope your right :)

But Unlikely…normal prices drop 50% well below RRP due to new products coming out and old "discontinued models no longer being made going on clearance sale"
Once these high end cards sell out they will be replaced with next gen products at around the same price but higher performance.
We will see great deals like we did last crypto crash but if we enter a global recession prices will tank on everything and at that point we may see those prices.

Low end to Mid range RX7000 and RTX4000 series cards wont see the light of day until stock of old high end cards sell out.. unless one of the two companies wants to screw the other while hurting their own sales in the process.

      • You have to know that this generation is totally a different story as the mining had broken the original structure of graphic card market. Due to this new craziness, the stock level of 30’s generation cards could be extremely high compared to previous generations. Speaking of now, the price crash of 30’s or 6000’s graphic cards have already been insane and we didn’t even know what’s the capacity of 40’s GPU cards. I believe once the 40’s card out, the whole 30’s price will drop to a new low level that no one else has ever seen.

        • +1

Rumours are that both AMD and Nvidia are looking to reduce cost on the new gen cards by reducing the amount of ram they come with.
This is due to the low demand from buyers and improving profit margins while keeping them affordable.

8GB's on the RX7600XT and RTX4060 along with maybe 8-12GB's on the RX7700XT and RTX3070

Wont see 16Gb's at this price for a while.

          • +1

@vid_ghost: Like I said before, all rumors. And another recent rumor said that new 4070 will be more powerful than 3080 ti with a picture for proof. But the truth is that no one even know what’s the new graphic card look like. So we can only predict the trend, which is no doubt the highest stock level of graphic card ever, including Nvidia had reopened the manufacture line of producing more 3080 12gb cards to consume his chip stock.

    • Are you a gambling man? I'd wager against that.

  • this afterpay discount, do u need to have afterpay to buy? seems like theres a few afterpay sales going on, but dunno if i need afterpay or not to purchase?

    • +1

You need to use Afterpay, yes. It will let you create an account if you don't have one.

So tempted to pull the trigger on this.

    • So yeah, turned out I did pull the trigger on this. I currently have a Gigabyte 6600xt OC which I can put into my friends machine that im building. Cant wait for some 4k gaming goodness on the 6800xt

      • Prerty sure this normal 6800 would of also given you 4k 60fps gaming

        • Depends on the title.

  • I thought we hate Harris Technology?

    • +1

I have been quite impressed with HT. I bought a motherboard from them, sheared off a capacitor near the GPU slot. Messaged them to ask if they could send this to the ASUS service centre and as its my fault, happy to pay all the charges (It was a x570 ITX board). They said sure, I sent the card in to them and two days later I got a notification saying that the item had been refunded.

    • I've had no issues with them.. my items get to me quick and they are packaged well.. ordered via their ebay site many times.

  • This is actually a really good card, I upgraded from a 5700 XT to a 6800 XT and it's handled everything I've thrown at it at either 2560x1440 or 3440x1440.

    • 5700xt is also a really good card. It outperforms a 3060 in today's benchmarks.

  • Beast of a card for the price.

  • seems they raised the price.. well that just lost them a sale from me

  • Best GPU deal in a while and they only managed to sell 14 of them lol.

    • +1

Before they sold 14 they had sold 0 :) so they lowered the price.. i guess they lowered it tol far :) its all about making a profit vs maybe selling at a loss

      Its showing 18 sold

      • +1

Check the sale history by clicking on the number sold. They had sold 1 for $849, then sold 14 for $788.88 and since the price jack have unbelievably sold another 2 for $849.

        • +1

Not everyone that's buying these are doing if from this link… :) Otherwise they would get the 6800XT deal for $20 more

I think one order was canceled :) as its showing 17 Sold now..

  • now at $720

  • +4

    Back to $670 after discount

    • Yep.. i guess they turned off the sales tap with the higher price :) so back down it went

      • +1

        OOS now

        • Yep all sold out.. :).. time to sell my rx6600 8Gb :) dont think i'll get much for it

  • I added a comment on HUBs latest GPU Price video on youtube about buying thenASUS Tuf rx6800 fo $670AUD 460USD and everyone called me a liar :)

Tried to tell them it was on oz bargains via a retailer on ebay and Hardware Unboxed deleted every comment that mentioned ebay.. oz bargains or harris techology.. People in the comments said if i refuse to say i must be a loar lol.. oh well.. Hardware unboxed really doesnt want people NOT using their amazon and newegg referal links!!!! Wow they nit pick and delete everything that could effect them. Most of those links are in US anyways and they only hurt their Aussir viewers from future savings by deleting my comments.. i had no links in them either

  • I had to move around some front mounted fans as the card almost dint fit in my case :).. This is the largest graphics card I've ever seen in my lifetime
