Looks like an amazing deal, in fact I'm a little sus on it as it seems too cheap. Seems to include a pen. Amazon regularly stuffs up listings with title and description of product etc. lets hope its good..

  • Specs refer to no usb C but it has 2
Might be a error in model number or title

    • Where did you see 2 USB-C ports..?

      • The pics show 2 usb c
The specs on amazon page only mention usb2 and usb3

        • +1

The product image only shows 1x USB-C Port.

The oval on the left side is for a Kensington Lock.

So the laptop has 2x USB-A and 1x USB-C port (based on product image)

As for the Amazon product description

Number of USB 2.0 Ports: 1
Number of USB 3.0 Ports: ‎2

          I wonder if Amazon categories 'USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A' & 'USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C' under 'USB 3.0 Ports'.

          • @RichardL: Sometimes they list the USB-C port as Thunderbolt 4

  • Hope you get it, but this has to be a price error.

    • +7

I've bought a few things from Amazon with pricing errors and notice that they generally get honoured still. Is a great price and I'm kicking myself that I missed out

  • Good luck to those that got one

  • For non tech savvy peeps, any recommendations for extra ram and how much should I be expecting for install at the local computer store?

    • It easy, just get screw driver, pop up the back cover and slot it in…

    • +1

My recommendation: Crucial DDR4 SODIMM 3200mhz. Can't go wrong for the price.
Install is pretty much plug and play.

  • Has anyone received theirs?

  • +11

I got mine. It does have everything as stated, even the pen! great bargain, thanks me :)

you actually received it? not a pricing error?

        • Yes, I'm posting pictures of what I got. not a pricing error

      System spec summary.
It does have a USB-C port on the side

        Well done OP.

        Thanks for posting pics.

Hoping they fulfill the order I managed to get through soon after you posted.

    • I think Amazon will still ship it even it was price error

    • +1

Awesome to see you've received! For future reference if you want to embed links better you could use [Title] (link) (without the space) like Google

Do you know if there's 1x8GB stick or 2x4GB stick installed by any chance?

      • +1

The picture shows 4+4gb. Those photos are really blurry

        • Must've missed where it said it but yeah is really blurry haha. Thanks

          • +2

@pennypincher98: Must be shaking of happiness snagging a good deal. Looks like I'll have to wait out until it ships.

      • +1

Thanks for the link tip, didn't even occur to me to check how to do it cleaner.
It has 4GB soldered, and one 4GB 3200Mhz module installed.
Apologies for the blurry photo(s?), I did see it was blurry but thought the majority of the important bits were legible so that'll do :)

        • It has 4GB soldered, and one 4GB 3200Mhz module installed.

Wait this 4GB is soldered? How can it get to 16GB then? I don't mind having only 12GB (4+8) but was expecting to be able to take both out

No worries for the tips and all good your photos have all the info on them :)

          • @pennypincher98:

How can it get to 16GB then?

Yes, you can. But asymmetric RAMs will not operate in dual channel mode.

            • +1

@O O: Hmm have to disagree there, I'm pretty sure it will work. Always comes up as dual channel and simply to the point where it isn't any longer.

          • +2

@pennypincher98: Yeah as mentioned you could do 12GB or 20GB and get some of the memory acting in dual channel.
I believe Asus have been doing this for years.. and its kind of annoying but at least there is some modification available..

    • Awesome!
Mine still says Arriving 6 Sep - 19 Sep. Fingers crossed.

      • +1

        Good luck buddy!

  • +3

    received cancellation :(

  • +4

Dreaded cancellation email. Well done OP for getting yours

    • +2

Yeah glad the OP got theirs, at least someone walked away with a bargain.

Bit disappointed for having my order cancelled, but honestly expected it after they switched the item to unavailable and a $10 credit isn't a bad consolation prize.

      • +1

Yeah tbf we all knew it was a pricing error so a free $10 Amazon credit without having to basically do anything is alright

  • order has been cancelled, first time ever Amazon proactively cancel my order :(

  • +1

    Order was just cancelled too.

Didn't receive any email, just a Amazon App notification that it was cancelled.

EDIT 6:40pm: Just received cancellation email with a $10 Gift Card applied to account.

  • +1

Amazon just emailed and advised order has been cancelled but will apply $10 Amazon credit to my account

    • +1

Yeah got the $10 Amazon credit too, guess it wasn't for nothing

    • +1

Damn, I should place my order. 😢

  • Cancelleddddss

  • Cancelled :(

  • Did anyone else get this? Mine was cancelled :(

  • -5

Bastards cancelled it. Wouldn't have minded if they didn't screw me around for days.
Ordered within 5 minutes of OP's post.
Got delivery advice overnight that it would be delivered Monday.
Then "we're sorry there's been a delay with shipping, we will email you with a new shipping date".
Now - "no stock at supplier, we're cancelling your order".

So that's 3 different story's - which one is true Amazon?
Just be honest and tell us you stuffed up and it was a pricing error instead of bullshitting.

    • Not really 3 different stories tbh.
They were going to ship and deliver it yesterday, but while shipping they realised there's no inventory left so they emailed you to relay that while contacting the supplier who informed Amazon they aren't stocking it further. Amazon then passed that message on to you.

Unless you got a tracking number, your order never made it further than others here.

Bummed they cancelled it too, but weren't you a least a little suspicious they wouldn't deliver?

        • +1

Wise up, and thanks for the downvote

I didn't downvote you, but you can be assured I now have :)

You've obviously got no idea how a supply chain works so not even going to bother commenting on that.

  • Mine has allegedly shipped via auspost (tracking number supplied)

    • +1

      That's awesome, congrats mate.

  • Did anyone actually receive it?

I thought there was only 6 in total, and I'm reading alot of cancellations.

    AMAZING DEAL IN THEORY 🤣

    • +2

I did. I saw the ozb thread very early fyi.

Now to find an 8gb stick of ram to run reading eggs at 240hz

    • -3

I received the 3rd one today :) Thanks OP

      • +1

What went wrong with the first 2 you received?

  • Interestingly the item is now back in stock for double the price ($999 Delivered) after orders were cancelled last month for "they are no longer available from the supplier"…
