Looks like an amazing deal, in fact I'm a little sus on it as it seems too cheap. Seems to include a pen. Amazon regularly stuffs up listings with title and description of product etc. lets hope its good..

  • Not actually touchscreen?

Edit: amazon title says touch but description of this product variant does not mention touch

Googling the model number suggests touch though?

    • yea seems to be touchscreen, not sure if it comes with the pen tho

    • +2

      Seems to be this
At $449 it's definitely worth a try considering it's $1147 at Bing Lee. Just please no Karens if you get a refund instead of the product.

      • +9

Yep i ordered first and asked questions later in accordance with Ozb rules

It's literally just for reading eggs and whatever comes up in the next few years of school

        • +10

          Ah yes the Ozbargain way.
Order, screenshot, then try to work out what you actually bought 😂

  • +2

Thank you. Bought one for dad :)

  • +4

Pricing error for sure. Cost price is way higher than $449.

  • +1

Thanks OP, unbelievable price. Was in the market for something exactly like this. Wonder if it's a price error, but sold by Amazon themselves so I'm not worried.

  • Don't forget 3.5% cashback

    • Personal computing is 0%.

  • +2

Unfortunately wasn't able to grab one of the 5 in stock so I'll be waiting until mid September for mine. I reckon the one day delivery orders they won't have a chance to cancel whereas the others might

Worst case scenario is a refund though right?

    oos

    • +1

      Backorder is different to OOS.

    • +1

You can still add to cart and complete the purchase. I just did it even it said temporarily out of stock.

  • +1

    Got one, Thanks OP

  • Still 1 left

  • +2
  • Cant order via amazon app but odered one from Firefox browser.thanks and wait

    • what the hell?

  • +1

couldn’t add to cart anymore :(

  • Snagged one. Thanks! Don't even need it, but for this price it seems like an absolute bargain.

    • My laptop can go a while yet without an upgrade but if this actually comes with these specs it can get an upgrade now 😂

  • +3

Tried to add to cart when upvotes were at 20, but couldn't. Wonder how the lottery works.

  • +8

Actually needed a new laptop :( Will just try and pretend I never saw this

    • +1

Get one of the higher model Thinkpad refurbs when they come up again, I bought one to mess around with around the house didn't really need it and was massively impressed. Looks brand new, better specs than this one and was cheaper still than a price error.

      • +2

Which Thinkpad deal did you get that had even better specs than this one?

        • +1

Maybe they meant better specs as in RAM and storage? In that case they’re right but definitely not a better processor.
They might’ve also meant better build quality, better keyboard, etc.. And in that case they’re right too.

      • I already know about thinkpads, but I need something with a recent a CPU for intensive Photoshop work. I'm waiting to see if a cheap E14 gen 2 shows up, but this would've been good

  • +1

Son's Xmas present sorted, thanks OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP! I have no need for this but managed to grab one and arriving tmr, nice random birthday present for myself lol

    • arriving tmr

Did you purchase it early or a different model/specs?

Mine isn't arriving until early September.

      • +2

Lucky I saw it early, it had no upvotes when I purchased ;)

        • +5

Keep us updated on what you recieve.

  • +1

Bah.. this would have been the perfect laptop for my son's upcoming birthday, but impossible to order within 30 seconds of getting the notifcation from Ozbargain.

    • +1

You have notifications for all posts on OzBargain?!

      • +3

All posts pertaining to laptops, yes. As I said, i’m on the lookout for a deal for my son’s birthday.

        • it's a bit late at night to be waiting for a notification, I have noticed that no deals are posted between 1am and 6am.

    • +3

See this is my problem - people on here are so IT savvy and that's how they get the deals. I would have no idea how to create notifications for this and like even for PS5's, people were subscribing to twitter stuff and all sorts of things to get the jump on me. I even checked the notifications section and couldn't find any way to do this.

  • -7

Dam I also missed out when urgently needed one. Now everyone is saying they copped one when they dont even need one. My loss is your gain

  • Can we add another 8gb ram to this

    • -3

no it's tooooo late, sold out because you bought them all for yourself

    • +3

From Kingston memory search, it seems VivoBook Flip 14 (TM420) has 1 soldered + 1 slot for expansion.

      • Thats great, yea just watched a youtube video
confirms it can be added to 16gb max ram

        • Can probably go beyond 16gb on it, just not something the manufacturer guarantees.

        • +1

Can confirm that you can switch the 4GB non soldered RAM with a SODIMM 3200Mhz 16GB stick for a total of 20Gb. I also switched the stock Samsung NVME to a 1TB. The biggest downside to this laptop is the non backlit keyboard. Barely used it tbh, but seems ok and quite portable. $449 is an absolute steal.

  • I keep missing out on the best deals :(

    • +3

You spend too much time on the warehouse. 😁

      • +2

I was actually babysitting so I had to pretend to sleep while all of you took the deal HAHA. I forgot the warehouse existed since there's been no deals for 2 days now

        • You were busy sitting on babies?

    • That's mean you are not addicted to ozbargain enough.

    • Think positively, maybe a good thing, you end up not spending thousands of dollars on things you may not actually want.

      • +2

Says the one who "grap the 5 in stock" ;)

        • +1

I only bought one, i should have worded it better lol ,see screenshot

          • +1

            @ozvictor: I know, only a joke mate :)

          • +1

@ozvictor: Glad to see you're still taking care of your teeth in amongst all the bargain hunting! 😋

Jokes aside, good luck to you and all those who managed to get in on one. Hopefully Amazon comes through with the goods!

  • that went fast

    • +1

there were only 5 and I didn't get one and I am not sure they will even honour it.

  • -1

    8GB RAM? Bit limiting.

    • +20

Keep telling yourself that but I bet you would have grapped one if there was stock.

      • The laptop serves no purpose for what I need, what would I buy it for? 🤣

        • -1

Logic serves no purpose at this price point. Whoever says they wouldn’t buy it is probably lying.

          • @[Deactivated]: That's like saying I need a large 7 seater car for the whole family, but I bought a Yaris cause it's cheaper?

Didn't realise it was upgradable ram till later though

            • -1

@Bargein: Broden all the cheap Yaris’ and resell for a little extra profit to get you the 7 seater. It’s a win all around.

  • +2

So was it sold by Amazon or a third party?

I'm seeing quite a few third party scammers on Amazon AU lately. You leave your order, it's suddenly delayed and delayed and they hope you forget. Or supply a game tracking# and if you query then they say it was a warehouse issue and it's delayed.

    • +1

Had this 3 times this fortnight.

    • Where’s the warehouse/seller located?

Hope Amazon not become like eBay. Full of rubbish sellers/products with inflated prices. Better to buy direct at Kmart/BigW.

      • +1

Various sellers. There was (is?) a wave of them selling Nexgard (dog flea/tick tablets). Mostly new sellers, but some established ones.

Funny I got in & dis'd the seller, Shopping Zone and they sent me a private message "hey Motherf+++er, why are you sending feedbacks Assh++e" hmm

It doesn't appear to say where they ship from. So now I double check whose sending it and what feedback they have. If it's from an Amazon warehouse, no worries.

      • Hope Amazon not become like eBay. Full of rubbish sellers/products with inflated prices.

In my experience, it's been like that for quite a long time already. Not only is their search function crappier than eBay's, you can usually find the same product for cheaper on eBay, sometimes by a large margain. Worse yet, from the same seller.

The biggest positive that I see with Amazon is their customer service if it's sold by them and the faster shipping if a product is coming from their warehouses.

    • "Sold by: Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd"

      • +1

In that case you're in luck!

  • +7

Luckily it's OOS otherwise I would end up with a laptop that I don't need

    • -1

Saved by the OOS ha ha

  • +3

I don't know why I'm kicking myself for missing out on this deal, have absolutely zero need for it.

    • Welcome to ozbargain hunters lol

      • +1

There's an idea for a new reality TV show? 🤔

  • +4

Damn the one night I dont check ozbargain, oh well shit happens.

  • +1

I need a laptop replacement and I missed out on this!

  • +2

Can someone who bought it see if it's ship and sold from amazon or where is it ship from? Had in the past when the price is too good to be true cos it's scam. Not from amazon etc. Took awhile for amazon to give me refund but yeah just buyer's beware.

    • Too good to be true.

    • Was definitely shipped and sold by Amazon so at least the refund will come if the product doesn't.

    • -1

"Sold by: Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd"

Sorry, no idea how to see where it's shipped from.

    • It was shipped and sold by Amazon AU. I checked that, and whether it had a spare slot for RAM, before buying one. Let's hope it goes through.

    • This one comes from Amazon directly (it listed Amazon as ships from and sold by), from one of their warehouses. It looked initially like the Dandenong South (Victoria) one because it was 1 day shipping for me as I'm also in Melbourne. At least while it had stock. IME there is little risk with these because any issues you can just click a couple of buttons on their website and get a refund and they will give you instructions on what to do. So even if wrong, it's worth a try when these pop up.

      • did you get it in one day from dandenong south?

        • No it came from Sydney, sent yesterday

          • @oddjob: it arrived already? so not a pricing error..

    • +2

Took awhile for amazon to give me refund but yeah just buyer's beware.

Never have any issue with refund/return from Amazon, Amazon themselves or 3rd party seller.

      • I agree. When they first started here for a year or two, it was messy though, they would give push back if it was a third party and refer you on. Seems to have been changed or relaxed now though, last couple of years.

        • Received my credit as soon as posted it.

Last time my toilet rolls returned by auspost back to amazon because of damage, chat with them and they resent it and after a few days also received credit back.
