When is Q35 going to be on sale? they been cheap in US just not amazon au.

    • Cheapest I seen was 149 this year I believe

    • These are better

      • Can you explain more?

One known issue with Q30 is that on the plane you cannot use it with ANC + the cable to watch airplane movies. Q35 can do ANC + cable connection, so in this example Q35 is better?

        • Sorry missed this.

Basically, the Q30’s can be corrected nicely via the app (which saves the EQ to the onboard memory.

          See here:
          https://www.dropbox.com/s/kv9yf7fd15hgnne/Anker%20Soundcore%…

The Q35’s cannot be corrected in-app to the same degree.

But you’re right. There’s more to headphones than sound quality. It’s just the Ankers provide a lot of bang for your buck around the $100 mark.

          • @seerious: From what I read and saw the Q35 uses the same App, and the EQ does look exactly the same with a "Custom" option.

Or are you saying the Q35's default sound is different to the Q30, so it's harder to fix?
I think you could achieve a similar end result to the Q30 by looking at Rtings frequency measurements for the Q35 and correcting it to your liking with the Custom EQ option.

  • PSA the Q30's ANC function does not work when using the 3.5mm cable. Q35 fixed this issue so it's worth waiting for that one if that's important.

ANC on the 35 not as good as the 30 according to reviews, if that's a priority.

    • That's weird because they changed very little about the headphones.
Most of the reviews say they are pretty much identical except for the added features which are slightly deeper earpads, LDAC and ANC working with 3.5mm I think.

Maybe the slightly deeper earpads have an affect on ANC? But depending on how soft they are when you put them on your head the Q35 earpads might end up being the same thickness as the Q30 ones.

  • Decent set of headphones, only reason sold mine cos I'm a TWS preferential guy. App is needed for good sound but literally a two minute job.

Be aware of headband cracks issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/anker/comments/lhcei6/soundcore_q30…
Mine developed it after 6 months of daily use which allowed me to get another pair using Soundcore warranty. The issue itself can actually be remediated by zip ties :-)

    • thanks for the warning, I guess I'll wait for the Q35 sale… whenever that is

any known issues with the Q35?

      • +1

Probably same issue as they have the same design, unless the manufacturer used a different stronger type of plastic :-)
On the bright side though, with the replacement pair Soundcore sent me, I didn't have to send the old one back, so after I applied the zip ties fix, I now have two working pairs of these headphones for the price of one.

  • This or spend the extra for bose qc45? Will only use it for train commute

    • +1

To me, QC45 not worth x3.5 the price, but Q30 have their own issues to consider (see above).

  • Anker Q45 just dropped but not on amazon AU yet.

    • Hey thank you for that update.

I just looked it up on the US Soundcore website. If you didn't know, in the US it's called the "Soundcore QX5", while in Australia the models are called "Anker Life QX5".
Edit: It seems like this time round in the US the Q45 is called the "Soundcore Space Q45".

They changed the design it looks all new and much better. Hopefully those arms which connect to the cups are metal and they fix the "headband cracking" issue that was on the Q30. Improved battery life too 50 hours ANC and 65 without ANC.

I am in no rush to get ANC headphones, so I might wait around for the Q45's and see how much they are on Amazon AU.
