I'd probably prefer that to the 28-75. The 28 Prime is great value and is great for what is it and it's value.

  • Any experience on the 28-75? I have a Z50 and want to get something faster than my 16-50 kit lens. I'm conscious that it's a FF lens but I don't really have much choice (would prefer going Z over F mount + ftz)

    • Sorry, I don't. I use the S 24-70/2.8 and it is simply awesome.
With the Z50 being a DX crop sensor, the FOV of the 28-75mm will be 42-113mm. If that still suits, it is the best value proposition f/2.8. Otherwise 14-30/4 and 24-70/4? I don't think there is a 2.8 DX zoom lens yet.

  • Contacted them about the free lens promo and they said purchases from their eBay store weren't eligible, only purchases made from their website could be used.

    "Hi there ,

Upon checking yes , we are authorized reseller for Nikon items however the bonus lens are for orders placed using our website only . Thank you

    Kind regards
    Jaya"

I bought the Angelbird card from digiDirect ebay and the ABN on the tax invoice is the same as that listed on their website. So I'm not sure why there is a distinction between purchasing from ebay vs their store.

  • never understood Nikon's logic with their 'S' series. Why the 28-75 f2.8 is not an s? It's fast, constant aperture 🤷. Shame the 24-120F4s lens isnt in the sale wah!

    • It's a different quality I guess. S glass is really good.

      The 24-120/4 is sold out.

This 28-75 lens is subcontracted out to Tamron. Nikon in house lenses of high enough quality are denoted as 'S' lenses

  • I ordered the Z5 and a 50mm prime lens from Digidirect eBay last week and it still hasn't been sent. Today is the last day for the Nikon bonus lens promotion, so I am not sure if I will be eligible. Did anyone else manage to sort this out?

    • Might want to message them via ebay and see what they say. Maybe ask for an invoice so that you can claim the lens.

      • I have already messaged Digidirect several times and they just say that they will tell warehouse to process the order immediately.

        • Doesn't sound promising. Ask them to send you a Z6ii as compensation.

          • @lomie: After several messages they now sent the camera this morning with an invoice dated 8th September, which is one day after the bonus lens offer period ended. Could this be intentional? Does Digidirect have any expenses associated with Nikon's bonus lens offer?

            • @trippy: WTH. Purchase decision was based on the promotion. Money was taken on the day of purchase. Invoice should be on the day of purchase. Keep pestering them. You shouldn't lose out on the promo lens.

              • @lomie: They just told me that "We apologize for the delay in your order but unfortunately we are unable to make changes to the invoice". This seems odd since purchase was made a week ago.

                • @trippy: Escalate it. Ring them up. It's worth pursuing for the lens.
