"There is no minimum spend, however your purchase price should be greater than the value of the coupon."
"Hi, so there is not a set expiry on that, at that moment. I will raise this issue to my technical support team. As soon as they provide us with a timeframe, we will notify you via email."

  • Coupon expiry day? Minimum purchase?

    • LiveChat said no minimum spend. Coupon expiration to be confirmed.

  • Great deal!

  • +5

“Emailed to targeted customers who qualify “- that’s a big catch

    • +2

      Good catch on that

    • +1

A little misunderstanding. The voucher will be emailed to people who qualify (that is, if you purchase the correct plan and use the same email address with catch connect and catch)

    • +1

It is on the front page of the website

      https://catchconnect.com.au/

      • +1

Oh, great. So the 60Gb is discounted to $89

        • I'd be careful ordering from catchconnect.com.au when the deal is for catch.com.au. Previous deals have treated these as two separate entities.

Edit: seems terms on catchconnect allow it this time, but this isn't a norm

  • +2

    great deal if it works.

  • good deal

  • +2

Most of the products on Catch are overpriced.

    • -1

So buy the ones that aren't

  • will my data carryover from my 90 day plan? It still has like 65 days and 18gb left.

  • +8

60GB for one year is $89, plus $44.50 credit and 3.5% cashback from Cashrewards.

    • That's a very decent price indeed. Wish they included Int'l calls like Coles current special $99 plan or Boost.

      • +1

I use Skype to call overseas. Bought $50 giftcard at Woolworths for $25, after 3 years I still have more than $30 credit on my account.

        • I call Int'l mobiles for a good 10+ hours per week. I doubt Skype would be cheaper and it requires Internet access rather than just using my normal mobile.
Great idea though for casual calling.

    • are you sure? showing $120 on catch.com.au. Will they still give you coupon if you only pay $89? I doubt

      • -1

Just click the link and read the details.

    • looks like need to order from catch not catchconnect

      • +1

That's the usual, but this time it seems you can order from catchconnect according to the banner

    • Excellent offer. TY.

  • +3

Great deal but I'd be wary of using Catch mobile again - tried them last year and had awful connection a lot of the time (Sydney).

  • So do they use the full Optus Network or a variation of the network? =\

    • +1

      Full but no VOLTE.

      • +1

Catch is moving to VoLTE for new customers and rolling it out for current customers

    • +1

Buy a test sim on this network before going on a long term plan.

I went on a 12 month sim with catch and have been regretting it since. This is mainly due to my area not being great for reception.

  • +2

Coupon is valid until 11.59PM AEDT 16 Oct 2022. Not long to use!

    • +2

Coupon voucher is sent out to all customers on 5th October. So effectively you only have 1.5 weeks to use it. Sneaky tactic by Catch. They are probably hoping some customers will forget to use or run out of time and it lapses. Suffice to say, I will be using mine immediately.

      • Ideas on what to buy with the credit?

        • Personally, I am looking at some musical gear, effects pedals, and the like. Just search for random stuff they have a huge range.

  • Only for new customers

    • Where write this info?

  • Anyone know any 2nd tier carriers like Catch/Kogan that support eSIM?

    • +2

      Woolworths

      • +1

        Cheers. You're the best!

EDIT: amaysim, Kogan, also support eSIM. nice!

        • GOMO/Lebara as well.

      • Does that work for An Apple Watch?

        • No, Apple Watch won’t take a primary eSIM only a daughter plan linked to a primary. On carriers that support it.

          • @itsme56: Apple watch can have a separate esim with its own number, see this comment: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11602483/redir

However, this is really designed so parents can give their kids an apple watch as a way of staying connected. Watch must be in "family setup" mode, which means you need a trusted friend/relative with an iPhone to set it all up, and some features are disabled, e.g. apple wallet won't work on the watch.

  • Currently with catch for mobile, would it work activating or do I need to port out?

    • Port I believe.

  • Is the store credit one per account?

  • +1

Good luck trying to read the CIS on your mobile, the idiots at CatchConnect have decided to provide it in .DOCX format. Because PDF is apparently too difficult for them.

Hey CatchConnect, when you're selling a mobile phone plan, how about making it easy to read on a mobile phone.

    • I see the "CIS - 30 Day Mobile Broadband Plans - 28 Aug 2018 - 05 Aug 2021" as DOCX format, the rest are PDFs. I see your point though! (On a desktop PC BTW)

  • Cheers. Purchased a small plan for $89 for the year as I was needing a new provider and got sick of sim slutting every month. Now I just need to find something to buy with the credit voucher. Shame you only get 1.5 weeks to use it by the time it is sent out (should be on 5th October).

    • +3

Plenty of time to wishlist a cart eh

  • is it still an issue porting optus reseller to another optus reseller?

  • +1

    $89 for 60GB with $44.50 credit and $2.67* CR = $41.83* theoretically. Great price.

Only thing with Catch is I swear they have worse reception than other Optus MVNOs.. when I switched from Catch -> Amaysim I was getting consistently better speeds and bars across Sydney.

    • I went from vodafone retail to catch and actually jumped in speed and reception. YMMV of course.

      • But that's Vodafone to Optus lol.

  • +1

Catch is terrible for connection. I live metro Sydney and ONLY plan I've ever had where 20% doesn't get coverage always. And if areas have too many people for event or on a Thurs payday.. .. nothing.

  • They do have volte/ vowifi, got it turned on this week after calling them.

    • Thanks for this - I thought that I had to wait, but I contacted them today and got VoLTE enabled after a few hours.

  • Does anyone know if you get some sort of confirmation around the 50% credit prior to it being paid on the 5th October?

  • Has anyone received the coupon code?

    • Nope

      • Also nope

        • +1

Nope and not happy that most of us have to follow up and chase it up with them.

It's almost like they withhold on purpose and hope people forget to claim what they are entitled to.

I called Catch Connect who told me I need to contact Catch.com instead because they are separate companies. I will ring Catch first thing tomorrow morning so I can get my $45 credit!

    • no

  • no

  • No coupon

    • I'm on the phone with Catch now. Bloody hopeless. Their systems aren't integrated. They don't even recognise my order number.
Did you purchase the sim plan through Catch Connect or Catch.com?

      • I got it from Catch Connect. Any idea how to get back our $44.50 credit?

      • I purchased through catch connect.

  • Still no credit. Anyone got it successfully?

    • +1

Nope. Ringing them is so painful. Both companies were pretty clueless about the promotion and lots of back and forth between both of them passing the buck. Finally, this dismissive person from CC said that it's Catch's responsibility to email the vouchers and she will follow up with them for me but it can take 2 business days before I even get a response. She couldn't even tell me the expiration date of the vouchers. I feel like just escalating to consumer affairs if I have to call again. It seems misleading and false advertising this promo.

      • same thing happened to me today. Wasted almost 2hrs of my time. If they don't resolve it soon, I'll definitely take it up with consumer affairs for misleading advertising and bad business practices

      • Those who haven't rung them salute you. Thanks for taking one for the team.

  • Dodgy catch asks for screenshot of their deal

  • +2

They asking for a screenshot of that deal from me too. Does anyone have a screenshot? They are so dodgy. Wasted almost two hours of my time back and forth between catch and catchconnect teams and know one knows about this deal.

  • +1

No credit here. Sounds like a full res screenshot posted here would be useful for those that need to go through the pain of calling catch/catchconnect

  • +2

was worried that this would happen so I actually did take a screenshot of the deal. How do I post the image here?

    • Oh that's great someone has taken a screenshot :) You should be able to paste in comments. If not direct message me and i can try to post it here

      • +5
        • Yes I can access. So everyone can directly access through the link. Thanks mate. I’ll follow up again tomorrow and keep you updated

          • +4

@richiekath: Thanks for posting. I was at work when I saw the request for screenshot.

I received an email from the CC rep this evening. I'm glad that they have acknowledged my entitlement to the deal and that Catch.com are responsible for delivery of the vouchers. Hopefully it comes through tomorrow for everyone.

            "Hi XXX,

            Thank you for your patience.

We apologise for the delay in you receiving the coupons. Catch will be emailing this in the next 24-48 hours (by tomorrow). Please also check your spam/junk folders.

We appreciate your patience and apologies for any inconvenience.
            Kind regards,"

            • +2

@Windows7forever: Thanks for following up mate. Great work!! I also followed up this morning with the screenshot and finally acknowledged. I received my voucher too. Happy shopping

  • +1

I have finally received the coupon code.

  • +1

    Just got mine too…

  • Still nothing here… Did anyone receive it without any effort required?

    • me, received it this arvo, didnt chase anything it up and was in my email inbox.
the coupon can be used with different sellers on marketplace, just need to checkout all at once.

    • Did you activate the sim plan within the required timeframe?

      • Yes. 16th September.

  • We have been advised by the Catch Connect Team that there has been a slight delay with the preparation of the vouchers. Rest assured that these will be circulated within 1-2 business days. Please check your spam/junk folders for sometimes our emails are routed there.

Please note that you will have a 14-day window to use the vouchers.

  • I purchased two $89 plans and today I received two vouchers for $29 instead of $44.50, has this happened to anyone else? I will chase them up with the screenshot provided but wondering where they got $29 from

    • You had to buy by Sept 6 and activate by Sept 30, so those 2 x $89 wouldn't count. Did you buy&activate another plan last month?

      • I purchased them in September and received the vouchers on 7/10. I've contacted both catch.com.au and catch connect several times now and they both say they can't help me, it's the other guy's problem. Very frustrating! Definitely starting to regret the move…

        • +1

Same here, I'm having the same issue - bought on 03 SEP 22 and activated on 29 SEP 22.

I'm going to try calling again sometime this week before lodging a complaint

          • @Chimpus: @Chimpus did you also receive a voucher for the wrong amount? I've contacted both Catch Connect and catch.com.au several times now, both insist that they can't help me and won't budge! They don't offer any solutions or assistance at all, just 'not my problem'. Seriously regretting transferring to Catch Connect after many years with Amaysim, will be avoiding both companies from now on! Will be lodging a complaint with NSW Fair Trading and the telecommunications ombudsman (unless anyone has a better suggestion)

            • +1

@larndis: Sorry my case was a little different from yours as I didn't receive a voucher at all.

I called catch.com.au today and they sent me an email after the call requesting further details for verification so I emailed back copies of my order confirmation and activation emails and a screenshot of the original offer from the catch connect website.

Haven't heard anything back yet but next step will be to lodge a complaint as well

              • @Chimpus: Follow up for anyone still following - I received this email today:

                Hi Chimpus,

Thank you for your recent Catch connect sim purchase.

We recently had a 50% Cashback offer for Catch Connect customers.

Due to a technical glitch in generating the coupon, your code could not be sent to you.

As such, we have applied a store credit of $44.50 to your Catch account which is available for you to use immediately. Your Store Credit is valid for 2 weeks and will expire on 29-10-2022.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Catch as we are always here to assist.

                Thank you for your understanding.

I've checked and the store credit has been correctly credited to my Catch.com.au account with expiry on 29-10-2022.

I sent the email with all of my evidence on 12 OCT 22 so approximately 3 days to get it sorted not including the prior contact attempts via web chat/phone call to Catch Connect/Catch.com.au

  • +3

Still waiting for catch customer service to send my voucher. All evidence has been provided to them. Honouring a promo shouldn't be this difficult.

  • +4

Lodged a complaint to the Tele Ombudsman today.

  • bought 3x$120 sims , paid $267, they only email me $27 credit , how can that be right?

  • +3

Finally got my credit today. I have removed my negative vote as it was a good deal in the end.
