Was looking for a cute retro keyboard for the wife (have seen her eyeing this in shopping centres sometimes).
This looks to be a good deal on the purple colour.
There are other colours available as well for a couple of bucks more.
18 reviews on Amazon and pretty positive so far.

Wireless keyboards are a potential security risk. There's no mention of encryption in the description.

Don't know why someone would neg your comment. :/

That is a definite risk and not something people would normally think about.

      • -3

They're definitely a security risk, but not for an average joe.

        • This comment is garbage.

By the same token, is wifi encryption also not for the average Joe?

          • @b2dz: So based on your logic nobody should be using wifi either, since it is a bigger security risk than a wireless keyboard.

            • +1

@BeefBiryani: Nobody should be using wifi without WPA2 enabled at a minimum, preferably WPA3.

Nobody should be using a wireless keyboard without encryption.

If you dont think it's important, why don't you disable the password on your wifi network and let your neighbours and god knows who else onto your network?

          • @b2dz: Are you sure the "wired" keyboard you're using isn't already bugged by the CCCP?

Time to get my tinfoil hat…

            • +1

              @BeefBiryani: Oh dear.

              This is basic security 101.

If you don't think wireless security is important, great news for you, turn your wifi network into an open network only with no authentication required!

So easy to connect all your devices!

Your neighbours will thank you as well.

              • @b2dz: I am not saying that wireless security is not important. All I am saying that nobody is going to go after hacking your "wireless" keyboard unless you are someone of real importance. And if that is the case, it wouldn't matter if you're using a wireless or wired keyboard, you "will" be hacked.

        • It's not like the range on these things is going to fly across neighbourhoods..
I doubt it would reach outside most suburban homes with walls and fences inbetween.

The only place it would be a risk is office, school or public place. But why would you haul stuff like this to those kinds of places anyway lol.

especially on 2.4ghz which is likely to be saturated with interference to death in those places.

          • @IronOrchard: If you are one of the millions of people living in an apartment, the risk is quite high to be honest.

Even terraces or townhouses that are close to each other would be at risk.

If the glowies want to get you they can already

I’ve had one of these circle keycaps designs from Logitech. Took me a while to get used to typing on circle keycaps so just a heads up YMMV

  • Now that these use a USB-A receiver. If you have a Surface or similarly modern laptop or 2-in-1 device, you won't be able to plug it in.

I spent ages looking for one with this design that uses Bluetooth and couldn't find one.

  • Logitech Pop ripoff lol

    • +1

To be fair, this is a full keyboard with numeric keys, but without the Logitech's emoji buttons.

    • +2

I'm fairly sure round keys existed long before the Logitech Pop.

  • Looks like this price has ended

  • How is this retro? Its just novelty imo
