For $1499, I sorta expected delivery would be free…

Ordered 1. Paid nothing, because that seems to be the price

    I’ve got the Dolphin X 30 it’s great!

Can we leave it in the pool 24/7 or best to remove it from the pool after each cycle? I heard that if you leave these in the pool, the seals eventually break water goes inside the electronics and it breaks.

    • Don't be a fool and keep it in the pool

My neighbour leaves his robot in the pool during the summer months.

I follow a Facebook group and opinions are always polarising. Manufacturer says to take it out and keep it in away from sun. People on forums say they leave theirs in full time. Logic is that keeping it in the pool will wear the seals faster due to the chemicals.

I take mine out. If it means keeping it a few years longer, the slight inconvenience is a fair trade off.

Pool guy here. Officially, you're supposed to take them out. In actuality, as long as you're taking care of the water balance, it'll be fine.

I know have Dolphins that have been left in pools 24/7 for 5+ years and have no issues with water ingress in the electronics.

      • Thanks, that's good to know. 5+ years is definitely more than what I actually expected from these things to begin with.

All comes down to looking after the water. I've also seen them last a LOT less. I do some warranty work for Maytronics and issues are almost always due to neglect.

          • @Pipersaurus: Only had one season with a pool so far. It's currently in winter mode, the rain (Vic) pushes the pH out to about 7.8, but I'm still getting water tested every month - 6 wks.

            • @jigna27: You'll be absolutely fine then. Keep up the regular testing and protect your investment!

              • @Pipersaurus: How do you rate these.. I have a fibreglass with a ledge around, step at deep end, and steps at shallow end. Will it get caught up?

                • @HitlersDad: Best brand on the market. Couldn't recommend any others. They may struggle at cleaning sharp corners or shallow steps/swimouts, but they won't get stuck. If people have areas that get missed, I simply recommend brushing those areas before running the robot and 2hrs later you're sorted.

        • I have the S300 and leave it in the pool probably a bit too often. Have had it for just over a year now and while the robot itself seems fine, the cable is starting to bleach a little and feels a bit sticky. We have a freshwater pool (Naked pools), so no harsh chemicals, but a strong Queensland sun.

    Anyone use one of these?

Does your pool have to be rectangular for it to work? Ours is like a "grand piano" shape where … So not sure if it would work.

We recently had the whole pool redone and was advised not to use a creepy crawler as it can damage the new floor… So we should get something like this to use…

    • The pool can be any shape. It just moves in a random direction and covers the whole pool. The only issue I can see is that it has problems with getting the top of steps or seat clean.

  • I have this exact model and it’s great. Game changer in terms of time saved. The robot means I spend 1 hour per week in Summer doing pool maintenance versus my mate who has no robot and spends 2-3 hours per week on maintenance. Have also left it in the pool 24/7 for over 2 years with no issues.

  • I have read mostly average to not to ok reviews when it comes to servicing the equipment. I Really hope this Isn’t the case for anyone purchasing here.

  • Thanks. Been on the market for a pool robot but didn't want to spend close to $2000. This seems like a great deal for our 8 meter pool.

  • I couldn't seem to find how often you have to change the rollers/track on these units..

    Anyone have experience?
