Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 3070 Ti MASTER 8GB GDDR6X GPU + MSI SPATIUM M390 250G $999 + Shipping + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

171

I personally own this GPU and got it when it was $1149, great GPU, it is a chonker at 3.5 slots and does not quite have the cooling performance of a 3.5 slot GPU but it is in no way bad for a 3070ti and at the end of the day it is a 3070ti. Awesome 1440p anything and 4k60 card, also the fully customizable LCD display is fun :). It should be noted I've heard shopping express does not have the greatest support and are online only so do your research before buying since gigabyte are also not very compliant when it comes to warranty and support.

It looks like this specific deal also comes with a free MSI 250gb Gen 3 SSD which is pretty cool!

Also probably worth mentioning that this is not the best priced 3070ti but it is very pretty, another great cheap 3070ti is the FTW3 Ultra I believe for $50 less but this card looks cool as hell so ¯_(ツ)_/¯. There are definitely still cheaper 3070ti deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070…

HODLing would still be a decent idea with Lovelace around the corner but hey if youre not gonna need more than a 3070ti and you've been eyeing this one down for a while, here it is at the cheapest its ever been!

I like the design of this card with the colour LCD screen on the side its awesome…

Power consumption at 290 W TBP and only 8GB's of ram for a high end card looks stupid when

RX7600XT and RTX4060's will be coming out next year also with 8GB's of ram but at WAY less power usage and way lower price.. We also have the new high end cards coming out from AMD and NVIDIA in a few months that will drop prices on RTX3080 & RTX3070's

I'm happy with the Asus Radeon RX 6800 TUF 16GB i got for $670 a week ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719849

+1. you wouldn't touch this for 999 with a 10 foot pole, especially if you secured a 6800 TUF at that price

    • +1

I've noticed my 3060 with 12gb of vram hover around 8GB of vram usage at 1080p in Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is like 7 years old.

It does seem kind of iffy to think that 8gb will be well future proofed, especially for a card which is meant for higher resolutions and higher quality textures, but then again people might have done extensive tests showing that it's fine.

      • Nvidia does this so that people upgrade to the latest and greatest thing all becuase the old stuff was gimped when it didnt need to be…AMD doesnt

I would still hodl. There have been a few 3070 ti deals for cheaper lately.

    • Oh you're right sorry I'll fix my description

HODL. The world is not a happy place. Think we can go much lower.

    • +3

we definitely can, just thought I'd post it for anyone who specifically wanted this card since it is at its lowest.

Not sure this 3070 ti is a deal when there are 3080s for the same price:

3080 10GB anyday over this. 250GB free SSD is too small to be occupying an M2 slot anyway - considering most mobos have just 1. But I would HODL for 4000/7xxx series.

Very true! although do consider a 3080 is where ampere starts power spiking and a new PSU will in some cases be necessary. Not that a new psu is an issue when spending $999 on a gpu but it can be annoying to need to replace a perfectly fine 650w/750w psu just to cater to the 3080 and its power spiking and larger power usage. This is just what I found and found that the performance difference was not enough to justify this, especially since I don't game at 4k.

      • A good PSU will handle power spikes beyond thier continous power rating. People complaining having system restarts due to power spikes would probably have a bad capacitor or very less hold up time on thier PSUs. Or even a bad GPU.

Expensive considering ETH is merging soon.

    +1 for description. A chonker.

3070ti can go much lower afaik

we've seen 3080 at this price, come on.

    • +2

Very unlikely. Nvidia has a massive stock excess that they need to clear for next gen.

      • -7

Everything goes up, due to war in ukraine. the usual excuse.

Very unlikely. Nvidia has a massive stock excess that they need to clear for next gen.

          • -4

@Aureus: war in ukraine, war in ukraine, up up up.

          • @Aureus: They can choose how to deal with that in a few ways. One may be not dump them on the market and cannibalise the demand for the 4 series.

            • @tm32: I believe they have more or less confirmed they plan to release high end 4000 cards later this year and drop prices of the 3000 series. That way they can clear out stock and bring out the rest of the 4000 series next year.

              • @Aureus: They can kind of delay the price drop seeing as high end 4000 series would have no competition when it comes to performance in the 3000 series, so the market for that kind of power wouldn't be affected by competition. However, once the mid-low range starts coming out, they're going to have that problem on their hands.

                • @OzBarAnon: You totally forgot AMD, the reason why 4XXX series designed so powerful.

    • Or war in Taiwan?
      Or drought in China?
      etc etc

  • You'd be a real sucker to buy any GPUs now. NVIDIA is going to announce further price cuts in just under a week. They are getting desperate to dump all their GPUs before 4000 series announcement in Sep and release in Oct.

I mean, we've been holding for the past 2 years. What's another 2 months.

    • So what you are saying with this neg is, this is a bad deal because nobody should be buying perfectly good GPUs that are priced at the lowest point in their life and will be more than capable of fulfilling their needs despite not being the absolute bleeding edge best thing that isn't even available yet. You've got a good point, but are very ignorant with that neg.

      • -1

Well that neg is because this is not a good deal.

Why you take it personally? Like you are looking for some sort of approval for finding this "bargain".

        • +1

Nah I just think misinformation is kinda cringe, since nothing has been confirmed :P

        • Cool, got a better deal you can link to?

          • @suburbanmale: Honestly think that buying used on eBay with receipt or invoice from original is best RN. Got my 3070 for $580, 6 months only and yep probably mined on. Still has a 3y warranty.

How is this in size vs the Aorus Elite 3060ti. Thinking of upgrading to this or 3080 as prices drop.

    • It's a 3.5 slot gpu whereas the aorus elite 3060ti is a 3 slot I believe, so a little bit bigger I guess just check if your case/board will be alright with a 3.5slot gpu
