Love the Absolute Deals they have. They were suppose to release these $199 flights last week with all their other offers but they forgot. I had to send them an email to say they were promoting $199 fair but none could be found on their website lol.

  As far as I know, they sadly have no plans to fly from sydney (as with Tiger) as the airport fees are too high. Sydney would need a new/second airport to allow this sort of thing to happen, I believe.

Anyone tried the XL seats? What are they like compared to the normal seats of full-service economy flights (eg. SIA)?

  Haven't tried the XL seats, only seen them (in my Gold Coast-KL). The seat looks like the normal business class seat, very spacious. When you buy the XL seat fare, you only get the seat, the service is the same as in economy (no priority check-in and lounge, while food and luggage is subjected to different payment just like in economy). That's why the difference is not so much. Some people may want to stretch their legs, especially the economy seat in AirAsia X can be quite small. (AirAsia X uses 3-3-3 configuration instead of the usual 2-3-2 in most airline using A330)
