  • Samsung Q60A 85" QLED 4K Smart TV [2021] $1,590

That is an insanely good price right ?

edit: apparently not, TVs just keep getting cheaper.

    • +3

Yea it seems that most low end/average tv's are dropping hard in price.

The Samsung is Edge-lit backlighting. So very low end

      • Is this worse than a TCL or Hisense 85" (similar priced)? Cuz I just bought one. Buyers regret setting in..

        • +5

Hisense kinda blows, so it's better than that

        • TCL I think has better backlighting, but both would be pretty average to be honest.

        • +3

Samsung image processors are vastly superior TCL. I’d avoid TCL

          • @WindowsXP: I’d be using Apple TV with it so you can rely on it to do the processing. Processing from rtings for the Samsung seem very average anyway.

            • +1

@onlinepred: Apple TV is a player and decoder but the tv still has image processing to do.

              • @WindowsXP: If it’s 4k, there is next to no processing to do. The less, the better. Through Apple TV it outputs 4k60fps HDR, all the tv has to do is pump it out. The Apple TV can also adjust colour profile which is nice. It’s only if you are watching 1080 source etc.

          • +1

@WindowsXP: Tcl make quality tvs my guy. Long been better spec value for money than samsung. Samsung s 21 and 22 range was garbage and overpriced. Tcl brought in mini led and micro led technology at accessible prices. Please dont diss TCL.

      • Low end is the budget tvs from Aldi these are solid tvs with all the features of the top end ones

        • +3

60hz, edge lit, low end cpu, low brightness, low contrast, poor image processing, no hdmi 2.1, and it’s a huge list that keeps going, and that’s for mid range to high end TVs. This is a very low end tv mate.

          • @onlinepred: I think people buying it knew it is low end TV but still better than the ALDI TV

        • +1

This do Dolby Vision? Cheapy Eko QLED supports Dolby Vision. Some of the 'better' Tvs only support HDR. Check the viewing angles on this as well.

Bought a Samsung Q70a 75 in the last deal for $1250. Yeah, prices for the 2021 TV are dropping hard.

      • How does one go about cancelling an order w JB? Call CS or go in store as paid w gift cards. Q70A looks better.

        • Where are you seeing the Q70A?

        • No more stock for Q70A, I posted the deal but no stock near me, I want one.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/720773

        • Did a comparison, Q70A better overall. Anyone done a cancellation can provide some advice?

          • @armageddeus:

Q70A better overall. Anyone done a cancellation can provide some advice?

Yes Q70A is better but no more stock.

      • Can I check mate, where did you bought Q70a for $1250?..because previous cheapest deal from JBHifi I could see for q70a on ozbargain was for $1488

  • No stock in Brisbane it seems (Q60A)

    • Yes, no delivery, no pick up, no in-store within 200km in Brisbane

just thinking about that G2 deal from yesterday. 83 inch for nearly 10k.

astonishing price difference for just panel and feature quality.

    • +1

Yep, better products cost more money most of the time.
LG G1 77" $4,888 though, get an extra few inches and newer gen for more than double the cost hey

      • and less ppi haha

        i'll stick to my c2 65 inch.

        • +1

Haha yep! I'm still rocking my $2300 C9 65". Got a Sony X90j recently for a second TV, and man I was so disappointed.

          • +1

            @onlinepred: in the sony? why?

            • +1

@Carrian: I'm just so used to the C9 in it's handling of backlighting. The only things that look good on the Sony is 16:9 content where there are no black bars or no dark scenes. The sound is much worse, much worse than the LG too if that matters to you. Also any light makes huge reflections on the Sony. I also really dislike google tv compared to web os, so buggy and slow.

              • +1

@onlinepred: i was considering the sony for my parents. i'll do more research.

                cheers

                • +1

@Carrian: Yea I guess I just expected a lot given the reviews and peoples opinions here. I doubt most people would care, but I'm pretty picky.

          • @onlinepred: Yes my B7 OLED is better than my Sony 9500h. Wanting a C2 however my B7 is perfect. Did have the panel replaced due to burn in when out of warranty has been perfect for the last three years or so.

      • G1 Seems to be limited in stock. not available for delivery or pick up in SE Melbourne.

    • QD-OLED will be $4k eventually

Based on AVSForum 50000 or even 60000 hours is not unusual.
