Thanks OP. Bought some cookies and cream.

  • Became addicted to the PB cups from the Coles sale sigh. Additionally, birthday cake protein bar macros are excellent! Delicious.

    way too sweet…

      you are

yeah, they use too much sweetener in them. A shame, as they're one of the few protein bars sold where I live that aren't full of soy protein isolate.

      • Yeah, I agree.

Got some the last deal and they have a strong sweetener aftertaste that is unpleasant.

I much prefer the Muscle Nation or Musashi bars.

Not quite as good a deal (the Amazon deal works out at $1.95), but Chemist Warehouse do have several of the Quest protein snacks for $2.55 atm (currently with free shipping over $50, decent if you're doing a large mixed order rather than having to buy 12 of one type via Bezos):

Bought this last time, had trouble finishing it. Was so happy to finally complete it. Quest bars are nothing like they once were

    • How come?

    • agree

  • the photos lie

Seriously can't believe that people would waste so much money on these bars and protein balls just for a bite or 2 just because it says protein bar. The protein component is so small it makes no difference to your diet.

    • +2

You're making a big assumption that "just because it says protein" people buy these.

I find they're a filling snack between meals with low calories (~200kCal).

The price point comes from paying for convenience. If you want to roast 100g of chicken breast each time (or bulk prep more) to be ~ 50% more protein per serve (and zero fibre), go ahead. You do you.

They changed their recipe some years ago. They USED to be one of the best protein bars on the market, a brand strength they're still able to ride off. They're pretty disgusting now though. Their cookies aren't AS bad I find, at least I can finish those.

  • Just having it now (Cookies and Cream) and not really liking the sweetner taste it has got. I hate the taste of sweetners. May just have to blend these in my smoothies to finish these.
