Needs another 50% off the 50% off price to be a deal

    • Would be nice 🤣

    Where is this 50% off?

Your examples are nowhere near 50% off and the link just goes to the main page with no mention of a sale.

Didn’t think I needed to explain what “Up to” means 🥳

      • +1

Why not just call it a 'up to 99% off' sale then and be done with it?

          Cool story bro 👍

  • Does this mean you've pulled the trigger and solved your need for a new machine JR10?! >_<

    • +1

Yeah I’ll probably order the pro 5 or 7 after work

      • YES!!! I ordered a Legion 5 a while back, ETA was months away with no specific estimation, so I ended up cancelling and going for an Asus Zephyrus G14 with a 1080p 120hz display, and GTX1660. Love it still, and that was 2 years ago.

The examples you’ve given aren’t great deals imo. I’m pretty sure the legion 5 pro with RTX 3070 has gone for cheaper before. Lenovo has a tendency to have absurdly high prices for products to make their discounts look better. These products will probably age poorly from a value for money perspective given how late in the cycle we are. Even worse is that I saw similar prices for the legion 5 pro with these specs all the way back in early 2021 (I saw it go for ~$2500), so this isn’t a big discount from that pricing. New GPU launches soon and laptop refreshes expected at the start of next year, which is likely to have decent performance increases. I would personally wait for Black Friday deals or next gen launch if you can afford to wait and don’t need something immediately.

In my opinion, the value for money option is the low-mid range right now. There have been some budget RTX 3060 laptops around $1,000 (Ideapad gaming 3 and Acer nitro 5), which is great value and unlikely to be best for the price by next gen systems for a long time. When next gen laptops come out, you could probably buy something amazing for $2,500, but you’re unlikely to get something much better for $1,000, than those budget RTX 3060 laptops.

TLDR: Deal is not good enough this late in the cycle. Wait for better if you don’t need something right now.

    • So you think the Lenovo 7 slim Gen6 (rtx3060)It’s overpriced too? Bugger, I was about to pull the trigger.

      • Seeing it for $2089. For that particular laptop, you’re paying a premium for the build quality and the slimmer form factor.

Over $2,000 for an RTX3060 laptop feels overpriced. The one I saw also was paired with 5800H, which is last gen CPU as well. If you want the slim form factor and the portability, you’re going to pay more. The deal isn’t terrible, but it is not great either.

Ultimately up to you. Everyone has different preferences and not everyone is super value oriented.

I've been keeping an eye on the site and you're 100% right. Gen 6 is not discounted enough this far in the cycle and so close to the new GPU series. In fact the Legion 7 Gen6 with the Intel 11th gen processor was going for around $2499 during the Intel Gamer Days sale.

I'm hopeful for a Black Friday "Perfect Storm" with good discounts and decent (talking 15%/20%) cashback from Shopback/cashrewards before I pull the trigger.

  • Legion 7i owner here

    Very happy

    Great cooling
    Awesome screen

You similar laptops from other vendors for a similar price - but most of the time their screens and cooling are significantly inferior.

    Happy Lenovo owner.

  • Isn't this a better deal here?
