Note in the same deal last time, I have tried get a $250 ampol gift card and put transaction on two amex card $125 + $125, I have received $10 cashback on both amex cards.

      I did in the past. Only thing is gift cards are $50 or $100.

      But gift cards are useable at many Woolworths petrol outlets.

        • AmpolCash physical gift cards are sold in $25, $50, $100, $250 and $500 denominations at Ampol locations, but stock at your local Ampol will vary depending on availability.

        • AmpolCash physical gift cards are redeemable at all EG / Caltex Woolworths locations across Australia.

        took the words out of my mouth! 6 weeks and counting down! Save Ampol search on Ozbargain for a 'heads-up'!
        I got the offer on 2 cards, and so I plan on checking with the operator & stock, and spending $20 on fuel and $100 Gift cards and split payment. And repeat a week later!

          Ampol appears to have some sort of pattern with their physical gift card deals (at least the recent deals)…

          Of course, Ampol could break this pattern at any time… but if there is no discount on AmpolCash physical gift cards at the moment, you may want to wait until 05 Oct to check again.

      I checked my NRMA app, but all I can see that is new is a competition to win 1 of 10 $2,000 AmpolCash Digital gift cards. The fuel offer for me is only 5c/L discount for premium fuels and 3c/L for regular fuels.

    Thanks for mentioning the gift card strategy - I didn't notice that last time and it helps me since I barely use a tank per month.

    For anyone that might not know, remember that even though the deal ends 28/10, the fuel excise discount ends 01/10 and likely 42cpl increase

      To further elaborate on the gift card strategy…

      • Most Ampol locations around me only sell AmpolCash physical gift cards.

      • There is one Ampol location near me that also sells a bunch of third-party gift cards, including Amazon, JB Hi-Fi, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox and BCF gift cards. That may be handy if you don’t want to be locked into just AmpolCash physical gift cards, especially since you cannot use those to purchase gift cards at Ampol or EG. (I tried this at both Ampol and EG recently and got error messages on the EFTPOS terminal.)

      Btw, I think the fuel excise increase scheduled for 28 Sep 2022 is a 22.5c/L increase.
