Are these eligable for Australian apple care plus?

  • +6

    where's the deal?

Edit - whoever is upvoting mind sharing why?

    1. Potentially grey import
    2. Previous gen phone

    Hi cheap432,

Thanks for double checking, the iPhone 13 Pro are genuine Au stock

    • +6

If you didn’t jack the prices, it would be a deal. I agree, it’s a marginal saving for a last gen device. Give us 20% of RRP and you’re getting closer.

  • +8

Not a bargain at all - last gen iPhone with prices well above every other retailer.

  • +18

Where's the bargain? The original price is jacked up.
For example, a new iPhone 14 pro 128GB is $1749 at the apple store.
but your iPhone 13 pro 128GB is $1,774.89

If you read it carefully, bird380 is referring to the "original price". Offering the discount on the jacked-up original price is not cool and straight-up shady!

      • They mean the original price is jacked up before Ebays own discount done.

Sorry, I'm a little bit skeptical - what's the catch? How are you able to undercut any other retailer on the 13 pro on about $200? Brand new AU models?

    • +6

OP has jacked up his prices, eBay plus gives 20% discount, which doesn’t come out of OP’s pocket

      • +2

Ah I see, gotcha. Is that principle why people are upset with the deal? After the coupon this is still one of the lowest prices I've seen for the 13 pro

        • also the seller is shady with the prices

if the price were not jacked up, customers could buy it at an even cheaper price

          • @pinkybrain: But then the retailer would be losing money if he has to take $200 off the 13 pro?

(lets just assume apple iphone 13 has $200 profit margin, I mean if it has $300, he has made $100, but you would be losing money (or not made as much) compared to other retailers).

      • isn't it like 50/50 split of the discount or something like that?

else why stores regularly jack up prices whenever there is an ebay code discount promotion

Neg for inviting Jack to the party. Also, Centrecom have Pro Max 128Gb for $1645, which can then be price beat by Officeworks for $1562.75

Or if you wanted to double your storage for less than $100 extra, you could price beat Centrecom's 13 Pro 256Gb at Officeworks for $1581.75

Harvey Norman has iPhone 13 pro 128GB for $1579 , price match at JB Hi Fi, use the 10% discount gift card from Coles, potentially can go to the price of $1421.1 .

      • Do they price match items which are considered to be 'on clearance' though?

        • I asked this afternoon at Sydney's City store, and they do match the price. Because it wasn't a member-only deal nor coupon is required.

      • +1

Also how do you get 10% off JB gift cards at coles?

    • They are sold out…

Interesting Amazonesque sales strategy… Seller yesterday and today had listed their remaining (silver and sierra blue) 13 Pro models at $1599, correctly displaying a 6% markdown off the $1699 RRP. With the current eBay 20% coupon (which actually equated to 18.76% in this case due to the $300 maximum), it was available to buy at $1299 — looked like quite a good deal, better than $1399 on Telstra Day in July, albeit for a superseded model. (Purchase history: https://www.ebay.com.au/bin/purchaseHistory?item=35428091431…)

Past tense because its list price has now been jacked back up to $1774.89 (higher than RRP). This makes getting an OW price beat guarantee off the current Catch price of $1529 more attractive.
