  • No reviews of this specific one on Scarbir?

  • Sunvalley the same company that went bust on Amazon?

They didn't go bust, they got caught paying customers to leave positive reviews, so amazon banned them.

Just a heads up. These Taotronics (who got banned from Amazon for fake reviews) TWS units might have been sitting in the warehouse for a long time and have faulty battery units.

A few months ago I saw 2 different TWS earbuds on Amazon which I recognized as Taotronics from the pictures but without Taotronics in the product title. They were real cheap one was $9.99 and the other $12.99. I had a good experience with Taotronics in the past so I bought one of each.
After both arrived I fully charged them both but when I started using them one of the earbuds would get a "low battery" warning within 1 minute and a few seconds later it would stop having sound. Tried the other one which was a different model and the same problem. So 2/2 that I bought had faulty batteries in one of the earbuds which made them unusable.

I can't remember exactly but pretty sure one of the models would stop sound in both earbuds if 1 had a low battery warning. So basically useless earbuds that only last 1 minute.

If you really want to save money you can give them a try but just be prepared to go through the whole return process. If you are planning on getting these as a cheap set for a trip, riding a bus train or flying in a plane I would just avoid these you might end up and be stuck with no sound at all.

    • Yeah I got one a few weeks ago and battery definitely doesn't seem right. Also it's an absolute nightmare to pair up with a Windows laptop. Works like a charm on my phone, but gosh they simply don't feel like syncing with my laptop at all - I Googled it and turns out it's another well known problem that no one seemed to be able to solve. I'd be furious if they were expensive. I also recommend to look for something else.

    • This is the second time I have written this comment, so I forgot to mention some details.

I made sure the cases and buds were fully charged. I even took them out and put them back then closed the lid and left them for 2 hours to make sure the buds were fully charged as well before testing.
It was clear to me in both products either the left or right earbud had been sitting with 0% battery level for a long time probably many months and was completely faulty.

There were plenty of others who experienced the same thing as well. You could read all the negative reviews with the same issue earbuds were "DOA" at the time on the Amazon page, but I think by now they would have sold them all and the page might be gone. There is a small chance you will strike lucky. As I do remember 1 or 2 "positive" reviews which mentioned they were working. Not sure how long they would last though. Months? Years?

And to anyone who doubts they were genuine Taotronics. The product photos were identical so there was no reason to think they werent. The boxes that arrived for both models also had Taotronics branding on them and so did the contents such as charging case user manual etc.

  • Got TAO headphones that are not fantastic but yeah OK for tv with decent audio , comfort and battery life . How can these buds be so cheap ? Something confusing here

  • I bought a different pair even cheaper price. They are still going strong.

  • Try soudpeats for cheapish chi-buds. I've had a couple of trueAir 2's (lost one) and they do the job admirably.
