        Agreed totally. I took this offer and had to look for stuff to buy before the voucher got expired. I anxiously waited for the order to go through and only relax after the item got shipped. Otherwise your $50 voucher is gone if the order got cancelled.

      I usually buy a bottle of spirits or another consumable. Even if I pay $50 for something I can buy on sale for $45, it's close enough and something I would have bought regardless.

      But yeah, find something to buy before signing up due to the terrible conditions (1 use, 30 days expiry).

      Edit: found something to buy but it says "receive your voucher from 4th of November". That's super annoying.

      Edit: I could view the invitation link (I was logged in) so I thought I was eligible. When clicking link, it says it's by invitation only. Double doh.

    No skin in this game but last time I saw a thread like this, I saw dozens of unhappy people, over charged, lacking vouchers or other such weird stuff, there was so many people complaining about ebay plus problems that I genuinely didn't consider signing up for "free" ebay plus, period after that.

      This happened to me, received no voucher 30 days after sign up (by then item i wanted was gone). Ebay refuse to refund even though i didnt get voucher, and i had to go through credit card company and paypal (who were useless) to get the money back.

      Was ironic though, the day the chargeback came from my bank.. immediately ebay plus was cancelled.

        Also they seemed to have a long term system error whereby they do not issue the monthly $5 vouchers which are meant to be included. Contacting CS is a long hassle aswell to get these.
        Not reassuring when people might look to them for guaranteeing online transactions, yet they rip you off from the start. Would it be too much to ask eBay for an honest transaction on fulfilling what's included in Plus?

      I've never once had a problem with vouchers etc like this the promos have always come through. Where are all these mystery stories from? It sounds totally ridiculous to me. Oh no I'm so stressed on what to spend my 'free' $50 on lol

        The complaints aren't made up..
        That monthly $5 voucher thing is a shit show, no set date they are issued, the one time I actually wanted to use one they weren't there till half way through the month or something. Customer support is useless, takes ages just to try and find the link for the help chat.

      Would never sign up again myself. Got some value out of it but the CS is so terrible. I signed up last Black Friday under a "free trial", the free trial didnt work they just charged me a year sub straight away and refused to refund me because i hadnt taken screenshots of the trial promotion prior to signing up. Disgusting

    Make sure you use your voucher within first week as it usually expires before expiry date and they will refuse to issue another one and there is not much that you can do

          Nope it was the seller. Relisted it a day later. Ebay's response to me was something like "sorry we can't issue you another one, but we regularly send out offers, and be assured your name will be at the top of the list!"….

          I then chased them up every couple of weeks for 2 or 3 months reminding them about what happened, and I still received nothing, so I'm done with them now. I'll stick with Amazon…

    Beware the voucher can only be used in one transaction. I used mine on a $2 item unknowingly and it was gone. Thankfully I fought it hard and after a lot of effort and threats got the rest reinstated as a voucher.

    I believe that eBay is engaged in deceptive trade practices and conduct.
    I cancelled my ebayplus membership about a month out prior to expiry but they lured me to auto- renew it, promising me a gift voucher for $30. However, on the renewal date, they said that my credit card was not accepted and since there was no valid payment, my membership has expired. I had to reapply for membership but they only gave me a discount credit of $20 which must be used in 30 days. However, when I use the same credit card for payment of eBay purchases, it is accepted everytime.

      Your auto renewal failed due your card expiry, not anyone else's or ebay but your expired card! That breaks the auto renewal agreement as it's expired it's not then auto renewed! Seriously how are you sooking about something that is entirely your own fault?

    Buy eBay plus on a card that has no cash.

    Check out your item with the eBay Plus code (on a card with cash). It is successful.

    10 mins later you get a message saying eBay plus purchase was unsuccessful… but the discounted item purchase is all good!

    My membership expires in less than a month so wouldn't mind it. Will cancel, just want sure if I can now and still use up until the date.

    It's handy to have for some items, particularly if it only costs a dollar with the voucher. Wouldn't renew for $50 if you got nothing..

    Hahah not anymore, signed up last year and can only use the voucher in one go, without any code, which pretty much no use as nowdays almost everything in ebay uses code,
    And i barely purchased anything, let the $5 plus member go flushed away
