Bonus $700 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card with Telstra $69 150GB+150GB/Month, 24 Month Plan (New/Port-in, in-Store/Call Back) @ JB Hi-Fi

83

Similar to previous deals but this one works out to be better value long term imo since it’s $69 x 24 months - min cost $1,656….(previous deal that ended on 21st was $99 over 24 months with $1200 gift card)

150GB monthly bonus data ends 31/12/22

Great if you missed out on the previous deal and planning on buying iPhone 14

Edit: gift card is in fact $700

Crap deal for a 24mths contract.

Should be $1600 GC instead of $600.

    • +3

      Agree

Got the same for 99pm for 24 months down to 79pm for 12 months then back to 99pm for 12 months after talking to Telstra with a $1200 gc.

      • How did you get it down to 12 months?

        • Read again

          • @Carrian: $1200 GC from JB or Telstra?

            • @Maxxjet: Jb to sign up with Telstra - then chat with Telstra

              • +1

@Carrian: sorry but how does that work process wise? you go into JB and get a quote then hit up the telstra chat to haggle or ?

                • @iainmacsoul: sorry for late reply. no quote from JB. i signed up full price, and then asked over chat for the discount.

                  • @Carrian: Thanks Carrian, interesting not something I had considered possible! Figured they would just say "you are contracted, do one"

      • +1

Interested to know more but i find your comment slightly confusing.

        Are you saying you had

        99pm @ 24mo with 700gc changed to 79pm @ 12mo?

        Then resigned

        99pm @ 12mo with 1200gc??

How did you manage this? JB doesn't do 99pm @ 12mo

    • the min cost of the contract is $1656, so you want them to cover pretty much the entire 24 months of payments with gift cards?

  • +4

Almost jumped on this till i saw 24 months lol

    • +2

I know I had to mentally talk myself into committing to 24 months but it’s ok since Telstra service is decent…

12 months for $49 a month, 60GB + $150 gift card…$150 gc isn’t enough for me to commit to a contract since my month month was cheaper

    • Well , you'll just have to jump on something else !

  • Nope

  • +3

Thanks but no thanks, $500 card for 300gb 12 months was awesome deal.

  • This deal is worst off than the $99 for 24months + $1200 gift card.

    • It’s worse off but honestly not terrible, especially if you don’t need that much data.

I did the math and it’s 0.$26/g/month without accounting for the bonus data and the 99 dollar deal last month comes down to $0.245/g/month. It’s comes down to be eve cheaper than the kogan 180 500g offer right now.

  • This is not a good deal at all.

  • Just got an email they are offering $700 gift card now

$1000 gift card and it's probley a alright deal
$59 a month after (telstra chat port in credit)
    300gb a month
    $1000gc

    • Yes. It's only worth a $1000 GC. Nothing less suffices

    • Is that was from directly Telstra or Jbhifi

    • I didnt understand the telstra chat port in credit bit. Can you elaborate a further i am keen to know.

  • Bad deal

  • I've realised these are only good if you want to buy something at JB. Took me a while to get it. Needs to be a damn good deal

    • I will be using the gift card to buy a new phone…so $700 off the new iPhone 14 isn’t bad imo

      • Yes but they've done these deals for either larger gift cards, or cheaper monthly costs before

I thought JB mobile deals weren't allowed for L platers due to all the sockpuppeting?

    • For the users negging me - have a look at the past JB mobile deals that were removed by mods.

  • You are also comparing broadband deals and mobile phone deals.
The mobile plan is still the same as last time

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/jb-mobile-instore

    • is that still active? shows "ends on 21/09"

  • Not the best deal but probably enough to scrape in all the people porting off optus right now.

  • Nooooo deal

24th contract these days needs wayyyy more gift card incentive than that in my opinion. 2yr lock in within competitive market, no dice.

  • Does the personal plan from telstra still allow sharing of data under same account?

  • better than nothing to port-in considering what happened to Optus recently…

  • Hi
I have seen these deals go around and havent pulled the trigger because of the locked in part.
I need constant reception for work as im always on the road and am scared of being stuck in a plan for 24 months if
i dont get receptions in areas of work

so Im curious if anyone has signed up with one of these JB / TTG / HN 24 month plan deals and needed to port out because of
reception issues and how did it go ?

Do you just pay the penalty for terminating the contract early or is there some sort of guarantee ??

  • While this isn't as good as the previous offer, I think I might need to get a new phone soon so looking at my options.

Can you use the gift card to buy a phone from JBHiFi? And the remaining amount if its more than the gift card value, is that purely outright? or can you add it onto the plan for a month by month pay off?

  • I signed up for 12mo contract instead on $69/mo plan. Got $300 gift card and $20 off for 12 months via Telstra chat. Seems to be a better deal considering they can only add the discount for 12 months.

    • Hey mate, getting an additional $20 off for 12 months sounds awesome. How did you go about doing that on Telstra chat?

      • Just asked them to apply $20 welcome port in credit for 12 months

  • Does the $10 port in credit work for the $49 pm plan as well? TIA

  • Worst deal ever for iphone 14

  • Vodafone were so sh!t that I pulled the trigger. Telstra chat applied a 6-month port in credit. Have seen them reject this on jbhifi deals, so wondering if anyone successfully got a full duration credit?

  • So gr8ful for all the awesome help n tips. Got an awesome deal in store(i think, go easy).

1500$ off, for the new fold 4 at 2499$ - 99$/month plan for 24months 300GB data. 1000$ out of pocket.

Straight off the bat, hit up Telstra chat and the first rep gave 20$ off per month. So 79$/month. On top, 150$ credit to use for International Roaming (5$/day for NZ, 10$/day for other countries) - 79×12 = 948$ + 99×12 = 1188$

Flew to NZ, GST refund 227$

    Total cost - 1000$ + 948$ + 1188$ - 150$ - 227$ = 2,759$

    Considering the phone is 2499$
    Telco cost - 2759$-2499$ = 260$ for 24 months (10.83$/month)

    Appreciate any feedback, cheers.

  • Hi All,
How long it take for me to get that offer after i port out from Telstra to different provider ?

  • How do you go to Telstra chat these days guys. When I log into the Telstra Web site, I don't see any option to start a chat. Is there a hyperlink or something like that ?

  • They're doing a $500 gift card now with the $69 plan. Was in JB just before, runs until Oct 5th. Sorry I can't remember if it was a 12m or 24m plan.

This $700 gift card offer was not advertised so likely now expired

    • It's on the 24 month plan for $500 at $69 a month.

      Not such a good deal.

Works out to be about $48 a month.
