That seems like a lot of money to not get 4K 120hz.

With Thunderbolt 4 you should be able to passthrough at high refresh rate so I'd say the specs are wrong and you can certainly get 4k 120hz on at least single monitor. Thunderbolt 4 is the highest bandwidth connection available currently so if it can't do it nothing can…

      • Definitely buy it assuming the specs are wrong and they would leave the marketing opportunity of “4K 120!!!” on the table. Good plan.

      • From their Quick Start Guide,

        Video Resolution Support Table

Operating Mode Number of Displays Supported Single Monitor Max Resolution Dual Monitor Max Resolution
        Thunderbolt 2 7680x4320 60Hz 2x 3840x2160 60Hz
MFDP (USB) Mode 1 Host computer dependent - see table below Not applicable

USB-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode Support Maximum Resolution
        DP1.4 (HBR3) with DSC 5120x2880 60Hz
        DP1.4 (HBR3) without DSC 3840x2160 60Hz
        DP1.2 (HBR2) 3840x2160 30Hz

If the hub has the bandwidth to support 1x 8K@60Hz, it should has enough badwidth to support 1x 4K@144Hz in Thunderbolt mode output.

60W sounds not a lot. Eg my notebook needs 65W :(

    • Will still charge fine. My monitor does 45w but I find it sufficient when docked with the monitor as I'm not needing a quick charge at that point anyway.

There is a ALOGIC Thunderbolt 4 BLAZE Docking Station that does 96w I think. This is the smaller more compact and cheaper Hub.

the power supply is useless. Most laptops (apart from the smallest laptops) will need more power

    • Unless you’re gaming most laptops will amble along at 40W or less. If your battery is dead you need something rated to the maximum power draw. If not, you don’t.

60w wouldn't be enough for most laptops
