I'm on the 50mpbs and I'm getting 16mpbs at night.

    • +11

I'm on the 250Mbps and getting 257Mbps at night

      • +13

Now we know who's been stealing all the speed

        • +28

I'm at the bottom of a hill, so that might explain why it's faster.

          • +24

            @jv: Slow uploads then

          • @jv: Broden?

      • +5

        So you getting More?

        • I see what you did there…

    • +1

I've had no issues with speed, but have had some weird connectivity issues. Could be my terrible copper, but didnt have these kinds of dropouts with superloop

      • +2

I'm with them on FTTP and have weird connectivity issues. Internet will drop off for just 10 seconds here and there. Modem shows no connectivity drop, I think its at the ISP end. I will bear with it for the 30% discount but will consider moving ISP after that.

      • +3

I am on HFC and had so many dropouts that I just had to move. WFH means need better connectivity when on Teams calls. Logged so many tech issues and complaints that I lost count. They even sent me logs showing dropouts but according to them: "we don't consider dropouts a problem until they exceed 5 a day" and "we service millions of customers so its not possible to fix the issues". They did mention that the customer service is shared for a few providers so that kind of explains the pathetic service. Have moved to Leaptel since then and voila! The dropouts have disappeared (2 weeks and counting).

      • I am with Mate and dropouts regular. They blame NBN. Origin were the same but Belong almost perfect. Switching from Mate once current monthly cycle is about to expire.

    • I'm on the 25 and I get 40-50. I had to double check my plan and I'm on the 25 paying for 25 but getting over 40

But as others said, I noticed dropouts almost every day.

When I wanted to switch to More, I called my previous provider Tangerine. They asked me if I was leaving for a cheaper offer I said yes. They said we will offer you same prices just follow the link we emailed you just now. When I opened the link, it was this offer with More. Both Tangerine and More also use the same portal when I wanted to check my accounts etc.

    • I'm on 50 and get 50 virtually 24hrs a day. Was with tangerine before so switch over was literally instant.

      • I just did the switch from tangerine to More. Did you have to request cancellation from Tangerine as well?

        • No don't cancel tangerine, it happened next day automatically. Also no modem settings needed changing as I presume same company, just moved billing to more.

          • @Geoff01: Thanks for that info. Good to know

I'm also with Tangerine and planning to switch. I've been lazy and just let the tangerine continue after the intro discount.

This gives me twice the speed for $8 less a month :)

        • That's legit.

      • +6

I'm with CBA for mortgage so they offered me free NBN (basic offer) for 36 months.

        I then upgraded to 100/40 for $32 a month.

        • they should give you $77 per month credit, should be getting any 100 plan for free no?

          • @botchie: Not sure how it worked but paying $32 a month for 36 months for 100/40 is not too bad

            Hopefully their internet is good

        • This is good deal. How much is your rate if I can ask?

        • Is this advertised somewhere? I have a current mortgage with CBA as well and ready to leave Optus

        • Correct, I got CBA mortgage and got 36 months free internet 👍

    • I received the same offer for a new home loan in July. Was thrilled because I was previously with Tangerine and was going to use again. Getting spot on 50 mbps even at night with FTTB.

  • Had no internet for days because of their useless support team. Would not recommend

    • Had no internet for days because of their useless support team.

More than likely it was a problem with NBNCo.

      • Yeah i had severe issues with superloop for about six months. It was NBNco problem. Wouldn't have made any difference which carrier i was with. Superloop have been outstanding ever since nbn fix the issue but time to change to more for 6mth now SL discount finished.

        • You can always return to Superloop after the 12 months and get a new 6 month discount.

        • +1

If you contact superloops retention team saying you're going to port out, they may extend your discount for another 6 months. They did for me on 1000/50.

    • +2

Same. Mess us around for 5-7 days still no internet and hopeless support (call centre in India) I eventually switched back to Aussie Broadband and within 2 hours internet is up and running again. A complete waste of time and need to chase the money back from them as they charged me for the whole month.

    • +1

"Had no internet for days because of their useless support team. "

I had to call them on the weekend, and they were pretty good I thought. The support person I spoke to was clearly offshore. Wherever they were based there was a rooster crowing loudly in the background on the call. Most peculiar.

      • +1

Lol think I spoke to the same person.

    • Can confirm support is bad, put me through the ringer to lodge a ticket with nbn Co who resolved my issue in less than 10 minutes.

      • So it was an NBN co error/issue?

        • +1

New service nbn connection issue but it took 3 phone calls to more and they made me sit there and redo the modem connection it got to the point I just lied and said oh yea totally did that can you just get nbn over thanks. I think they gave me so much difficulty because I was on a BYO modem but it was from Tangerine and the exact same More would sell me preconfigured but that was never the problem.

These guys back-haul off Vocus, would not recommend personally

You sure your not associated with this company?

        • +2

          No, just a customer…

I've been getting better speeds than Superloop.

          • @jv: I've found the speeds precisely the same as Superloop on FttP (ie no issues with speed on either)

The issue is More Telecom/Tangerine (my current RSP) doesn't have a proper portal to change plans, login, drop-down plan selection, and automatically change plans either instantly or on the next billing date.

I called them, and went to their overseas call centre, they just logged a ticket to get someone to change the plan which is all very antiquated and a pain for those that might change their plans often (waste of time).

            • @SimAus007:

doesn't have a proper portal to change plans

I did mine on the phone.
They answered within a minute or two.

              • @jv: That's the issue, you need to call them and you won't always have zero wait time.
The fact you have to live chat or call, go through getting ID'd then request the change is so odd. What year is it?
There is absolutely no live integration with their website and NBN along with their billing system.
From all the NBN RSP's I've had over the last 6 years, I've not seen such a backward system.

                • @SimAus007:

That's the issue, you need to call them and you won't always have zero wait time.

I doubt I'd need to change my plan more than once a year.

                  • -3

@jv: That's you. I change mine usually once a month, depending on my usage patterns, I'll be leaving for this reason alone.

                      • +3

@jv: Keep making excuses for their BS system. They don't have live integration, that's my point, if it works for you, great, no need to comment.

                        • @SimAus007:

Keep making excuses for their BS system.

It's only BS for you. It doesn't bother 99% of people…

                    • +1

                      @SimAus007:

I change mine usually once a month, depending on my usage patterns

                      Maybe look at Launtel then…

More probably isn't a best fit for you…

                      • @jv: I have no interest in Launtel. They are more expensive than the others.

                        • +2

They don't offer what you want.

                    • +1

@SimAus007: Changing once a month would be a pain for most telcos. Imagine we all did this. Make your mind up and stick to one

            • +2

@SimAus007: you sound like you need Launtel - they charge per day and you can swap plans daily

              • @botchie: Does it have live integration with NBN, ie, not a ticketing system?

                • +1

@SimAus007: yes, log into portal - change the plan, done - dont like them? pay for 2 days, leave, no need to pay the month
customer service second to none, you wont get better provider

                  • @botchie: Excellent, thanks for confirming botchie! :)

                    • @SimAus007: if i wasn't getting free NBN with these guys I would be with Launtel - only weird thing is their accounting
you have to pre pay - its a bit like toll - you set up $100 credit and when it comes down to $10 it charges back automatically

pros - if you go on holidays you don't pay - how good is that

                      • @botchie: Ohhh, very handy as I'm always heading away, that is quite unique. Perhaps that'll save me some dollars alone not having to pay for the days I'm away.

                    • @SimAus007: For an Associated Rep, you don't seem to be promoting the company that much. Do you instead work for Launtel?

                      • @D3m3ntia: Haha, yep, I should be fired… I've tried to remove that, and accidental click by the looks, should be done soon by the mods.

        • +3

@FDA2020 lmao so satisfying to see someone else use it

      • +4

@JV You posting this proves you have no idea how the NBN back-bone works, but its good to see its ok for some people in some areas, but again Vocus as a back-haul has a world of other issues, which do only sometimes effect specific people.

I've helped people fix more Vocus related issues than i have with other backhaul providers,

        • -5

you have no idea how the NBN back-bone works

and you have no idea how much others know…

      • Do they use cgnat?

        • I don't think so, IP is sticky and shouldn't change.

      • +1

I get the same speeds love it so cheap

      • How do you get 250/25 for only 83$ per month?

        • Through this deal post

It's 30% off any of their plans for 12 months.
As long as you do automated bill payment with an eligible CBA Credit/Debit card.

          • @jv: Ahh okay, that's pretty deal. Pity I stopped banking with CBA 20 years ago… Might sign up for a new credit card with them just for this deal.

      • Why on earth do you need 250???

        • +1

Halves download times for big files.

    • Congested CVC or you're running VDSL?

      • CVC issues but also they have alot of blacklisted IP's I've come across due to their IP range being shared with their wider business unit to list a few issues

  • From the PDF with Full Terms and Conditions in the description:

This offer is offered on a no fixed term contract. You are free to cancel at any time without charges. However, cancelling your service within the first 12 months forfeits any remaining months discounted at 30% off.

  • +1

They used to offer 10,000 Woolies rewards points along with the discount two months ago.

  • So if I have a quite stable NBN HFC connection with the current provider (ABB), would it make any difference in connection stability or transfers? Or is it just customer service? The infrastructure stays the same after all.

    • +2

Backhaul is different between the providers. It's only the same on NBN from your place to the exchange. After that it's whatever the ISP use for interconnects between other networks and international.

I moved from ABB to More several months ago for this offer and haven't noticed any slow downs - 250Mbps HFC.

      • Thanks. Any issues at all? ABB has that friendly website, sends you emails on disruptions in advance or on the fly, I believe it's easy to connect with a consultant. All of which I need never on average, but happens.

        • +1

Touch wood - no outages yet. But I think I'd miss their nice self serve tools for debugging if we do. They do send emails on outages but nothing as snazzy as ABB

  • -1

NOTE: Tangerine Telecom is their sister company.

both 25% owned by CBA now.

  • +2

I am on More because of the 24 months discount due to having a Commbank credit card. Been very happy with the 250mbits plan and the static IP which makes accessing our home server quite easy when we are out and about compared to when we were behind a CGNAT on Optus.

    • -1

      and the static IP

I don't think it is static.

      • +1

they are providing the IP call sticky IP, which is not static IP. but still useful for reach your home network from outside. They might be change in couple of months or years, depends on how often they refresh the DNS server

        • It was static until recently. In saying that, my IP has still never changed.

      • Been with them since March. IP has not changed.

        • The can change it at their whim though, so it's not really static. They call it sticky, so it shouldn't change for a while.

  • Not a bargain with the support and services they provided.

    • I've found their support pretty good.
