[Oculus] iB Cricket Quest 2 Game $29.48 (Was $46.99) @ Oculus Store

150

I don't think this has gone on sale before and for mine even at full price well worth it and then some.

There is no sport that accepts such a diverse range of body types like cricket. Short legs, fine legs, long legs, square legs and even backward short legs and forward square legs etc.

So all in all a must buy for any Quest 2 owner who either plays or a fan of cricket.

Also if you're not planning on using any AU store credit might save a few bucks purchasing via a different region.

Plus a recently released freebie Ultimechs if you haven't picked that one up already.

        No ball

Maybe a bit too much grass on the pitch?

  • How does this compare to the final overs? I don't like cricket but I have been enjoying that game.

    • I wonder the same thing. I like final overs, but would pay for a better version (especially as I recently received some credit).

    • +1

This is miles better. I haven't come across a better cricket game in any platform. This is it if you play cricket or a fan of the game. Devs have done a marvellous job!

    • +2

      I don't like cricket…I love it!

Night and day to be honest. I briefly tried Final Overs and the animation is so janky and the physics are way off.

In comparison, IB is really polished. Every now and then you get some small animation glitches but for the most part it is several orders of magnitudes above Final Overs.

      Some tips:

Against spinners you need to stand back, as the Quest can't track your feet so if you stand too far away from the stumps you'll get stumped.

For better grip, you can buy the Beat Saber attachment, it works perfectly.

So far my personal best record for a T20 game, on the hardest difficulty but with 100% bat shield, is just over 320. :P Don't know how the top ladder players are getting scores well above 500 lol, they'd need to hit fours and sixes for almost every single ball…

      • Thank you, and everyone, for your responses.

might save a few bucks purchasing via a different region.

I think they may have removed the massive price disparity recently as pricing now seems similar regardless of region.

E.g. it is C$26.79 in Canada which is similar price to AUD. This is not exclusive to this game, just something I picked up on in recent months when comparing different prices in different regions. In fact in most cases it is cheaper in AU

Thanks for noting as was wondering if there was a method of buying cheaper elsewhere. Saves me looking.

      Cheers bud!

  • Why does it say "Quest 2" I have been playing it on Quest 1.

    • +1

The App Lab version I think supported both but the one on the main store only mentions Quest 2.

  • This game only has batting, I wish you can also bowl and field as well. Bonus point for able to smoke, drink and dance like the great Warnie.

    • +1

You can definitely bowl. It was included in an update a few months ago. it's just not as fun as batting.

  • Shows as $46.99 when opened in the app - I have $47 credit. Shoes discount when I force link open in the browser, will try signing in this way and see if it keeps the discount

    • Yeah, whenever I log in, the price changes back to the full price.

  • Thanks OP. I was about to buy it yesterday with oculus 30% offer. But now it's even better for $20.

    • $20 ?

      • +2

Meta gives a 30% off voucher every couple of months. I got one recently and combined it with this price reduction to pick it up for $20.64 to be exact.

        • That’s great.

I think overall it's the best VR cricket available in the market now.I am playing it for more than a year now almost every day.

Purchased the game last night and printed this while I slept: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5146370

It feels pretty good, although I'd recommend sticking some masking tape around the locking pin before sliding it in to make it more secure.

      IGNORE THE ABOVE POST :-D

2nd game and the handle went SNAP! The controller hit the wall so hard that even my eneloop has a little dent in it. Luckily the controller survived.

I guess if you're going to print one try 100% infill or just don't use PLA.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted…

      • Haha, nice!. At least you now know how well made and tough the controllers are. Sorry to hear your project didn't work as expected.

      • I bought one of those Beat Saber dual handle kits with the middle extension off AliExpress for around $30. That has worked well thus far aside from the velcro strap they include with it which ripped off and nearly took out the OLED. So instead I use zip ties now but yeah definitely be very careful you do need a bit of clear space for this one.

  • Also thought I share a couple of iB Cricket tips for anyone interested.

To make the graphics sharper go to settings and max out render scale plus max out brightness via Oculus settings as well.

To improve gameplay make sure you work out your ideal height and bat grip settings. Also I take a leg stump guard since there are no pads/body that helps a lot for mine.

Against quality spin try to clear the front leg and hit straight that works for me and work on the sweep as well. Their practice/coaching mode is great definitely give that a go if you haven't done so. You can select just spin or whatever else on there and spend some time honing your skills and figure out what works for you.
