[NSW] Free Entry to Walkabout Wildlife Park Using NSW Stay Voucher

930

No need to book! Jump on it!!! Can also use it to purchase items at their souvenir shop.

Although you may use Service NSW Stay and Parent Vouchers for onsite purchases, there may be long waiting times and we cannot guarantee we will be able to redeem them before the 9 October deadline.

We are sorry but we cannot redeem vouchers over the phone or by email.

  • you can phone us on (02) 43751100 to redeem them over the phone when making your Wild Sleep Out booking.

So I assume you can only use the Stay voucher for the sleep out

    • +1

Nope. Used it for day entry. Then claimed the remainder on some items at their gift shop

      • Anything cool in the gift shop?

        • +2

U bet. Soft toys, tshirts, toys, food, drinks. Get out there and youll find out!

    • It's very confusing. It seems like you can use the stay vouchers for anything but I don't see anywhere that clearly states that.

      • +2

Theres no need for me to lie. The bargain is out there if you wana claim it. Plenty of people redeeming their stay voucher for day entry yesterday.

        • +4

It is on the front page saying stay voucher is acceptable.

    • +11

I'll call the place move it closer to your house

  • pretty interesting deal. thanks for sharing op!

  • +10

Thanks looking to use this voucher, anyone seen any other non stay deals?

    • +2

i’d be interested in that too, if anyone knows.

    • +1

      Super interested

    • +1

      First I've seen

Thanks looking to use this voucher, anyone seen any other non stay deals?

      try a brothel

  • Any good for adults or is it more for kids?

    • its been a long time since I went but theres some decent trails to wander around a bit different from the usual curated 'walks' at most parks

  • Can we use voucher to book online for a future date or is it only over phone?

    • "ALL NSW Service Vouchers accepted: Parent (value $50), Stay (value $50)
      service nsw vouchers accepted

Just bring them with you when you visit. We can redeem them on the spot. We will then discount your purchases to the value of the vouchers. Or, if you have already booked and paid online, we will refund the value of the vouchers to you.

YOU CAN USE VOUCHERS TO PAY FOR ENTRY TICKETS, SPEED DATES, PERSONAL RANGER TIME, SHOP PURCHASES, ACCOMMODATION IN AN ECO-CABIN OR SAFARI TENT, PRIVATE TOURS, AND EVEN AN ANNUAL PASS
We can redeem as many Parent and Stay Vouchers as you like. There is no limit to how many can be redeemed in one day."

Just bring your vouchers with you and redeem them on arrival when you are purchasing your tickets at reception.

      • Thanks but in that case I need to visit before 9th Oct. Was planning to do it later so was checking if we can book for future dates

  • Thanks. set course!

  • thnx

  • how do we use vouchers buying tickets online?

    • You had to email them the vouchers to get a gift card and then use that gift card to book online, but they stopped accepting emails as of Wednesday.

  • +5

I'm here right now and it's packed incase anyone was thinking of going today…

    • +2

If I knew it was this busy I wouldn't have bothered

  • O

  • +6

I went yesterday.. too many ppl. You will be in a looooooong queue for several hours under the sun..

    • +2

Youre not a real ozbargainer. Some people skipped the queue and went straight to the shop. Tell them you wana redeem items not entry

  • The queue is 200 meter long, and no parking right now, so think twice before you go.

  • Are we able to redeem other people’s stay vouchers? Have some family members who won’t be using theirs.

    • +1

You can. The person scanning the codes doesnt even look at your name

  • +1

    The place is ozbargined

    • LOL that explains why they aren't answering their phones

  • +4

Ok after waiting in line for 2 hours I walked around the park for 30 minutes.

I'd recommend anyone who doesn't want to wait and pay (if you didn't have a stay voucher) visit central gardens in Merrylands. I'd say it's just as good but free.

    • Thanks for the info. Looks good. And closer to home for us. Also adjacent to Western Sydney Parklands which is on my list of places to take the family. The Walkabout Wildlife Park does have the Aboriginal rock hand paintings which I really liked - as well as the rock engravings - although one was covered with sand and they are very hard to make out. I liked that area - away from the animal area and more of secluded bush feel - although you can hear the highway. The open grass area at the bottom is also nice. They didn't kick us out at 5 pm - hung around till nearly 6 pm.

Can't see how they can justify using the Stay vouchers for park admission, gift shop etc….. None of their competitors seem to be doing this. Hope they don't get audited….

    • +1

Maybe they allow for staying overnight.

It is one of the particiating business under NSW service app list.

      • +1

Yes you can stay there, but they are letting people use their Stay vouchers for entry to the wildlife park, in the gift shop etc. Nothing to do with accomodation.

        • they are 'accommodating' you, when you are there :-D

    • +1

i think its like the dine and discover vouchers 'couldnt be used for alcohol' but they absolutely could, the total cost of meal was the only thing considered. i mean im sure you couldnt just walk in and use it to buy a round but there was nothing stopping you adding a drink to a meal

      • I recall the FN Media getting huffy about the dine vouchers being accepted at fast food outlets when originally it was for "dine in" only. You could just order, pick up and leave with your food.

We spent the late afternoon here. Phoned and advised book online and skipped the long line. Surprisingly few people given the long line and loads of cars. Received $100 credit on our card for our 2 vouchers. Thanks OP.

    • +1

Received $100 credit on our card for our 2 vouchers

Do they actually send credit to your bank card? Or how does it work?

      • My wife did the refund on the credit card - but didn't get a receipt and it isn't showing on the card. She said they tried a few times and they were having issues with the machine but she thought it went through. I'll have to give them a call.

        • I didn't call them but the $100 credit is now showing on our card statement, so all good. Must have just taken a bit of time to go through the systems.

The locations worse then torannga zoo

  • Are there any other places you can use this

  • +8

Just called them on (02) 4375 1100. If you cannot get there before your vouchers expire, send an email with the voucher code to [email protected] asking to redeem them for a gift card which is valid for 12 months (include your name and contact number). You get a gift card, your voucher is used and, most importantly, this benefits the park as all purchases and so forth go to helping the furry and non furry critters who call the park home! 😊

  • how many plush toys can you buy for $50?

Can no longer redeem Stay Vouchers… Received this in email

    STAY VOUCHERS

We are very sorry, but we have no more capacity to redeem Stay Vouchers for use at Walkabout Park.

We have been overwhelmed by requests so have had to stop offering Stay Voucher redemption from 10pm on Tuesday 4 October. We just do not have the capacity to accommodate these before they expire on Sunday.

We will do our best to accommodate requests received up to midnight on Tuesday. After this time, we will only be able to redeem vouchers for bookings that you have already made.

It continues, saying they will still do Parent vouchers….

    • Wonder if they will still accept them at gate?

      • Yes, they will.

    • I just managed to get a gift card last evening.

    • I went on Tuesday. All done. Used my voucher

    • +1

we need a new deal or this voucher will go to waste..

  • Are they still accepting email to exchange for gift card? I know they are no longer accepting exchange for ticket but just wondering about gift card…

    • +2

      Updated on their web-site:
"WE ARE SORRY BUT WE CANNOT REDEEM VOUCHERS OVER THE PHONE OR BY EMAIL".

Went there today around 2pm, able to use stay voucher and staff are really nice to my family. Not many people due to rain. 🐸

I also got the email stating they stopped accepting the stay voucher, but they still processed it and sent me a gift card. The souvenir shop had sold out on most items, but I scored a cane toad purse.

    • How long did it take for them to reply with gift card?

      • 6-8hrs it took via email. I agree I included my name , mobile number plus a screenshot of the voucher

  • Have not seen any more deals like this, so looks like my $50 voucher will be going to waste :(

    • +2

Email them anyway you might get lucky. Make sure you include your phone number as they need this to process the voucher. Mine got delayed until today as they didn't have my phone number.

  • Let's hope you guys don't get audited as this is actually against terms and conditions of the voucher.
