Wow that was quick, instant transfer to VFF from ANZ Rewards including the bonus already, thanks.

    • +1

Can confirm the same experience for me too.

  • +1

Is 15% the most we can expect for amplify points?

  • +3

man, why not Flybuys!? i have 20k points was hoping to transfer

    • +1

Yea, bummer. How often do flybuy's-velocity bonuses occur? Don't see much of these on previous ozbargain posts….

      • +2

Never seem to happen anymore used to be reasonably regular

  • +3

Perfect timing. Just closed an ANZ card and was waiting for a bonus to clear out the balance of my rewards points.

    • for me too! I transferred to Velocity from ANZ Rewards yesterday without knowing this deal and had a nice 20% bonus!

  • -4

Has Velocity assured us that they aren’t closing any time soon?

    • +10

Yes, I called their help line for you today and they said they are open at least this fortnight. /s

    • I guess everyone has different requirements on what makes them feel assured. What do they need to do to assure you specifically?

    • +3

Yes, I spoke to someone who assured me they weren't closing any time soon! I had spoken to that same person on the phone years ago, so it was reassuring. They used to work at the Ansett call centre and told me the same thing about Ansett before.

      • +1

Yep, spoke to her too, her name is Gwen. She started off with Compass Airlines and said the same thing about them. I also feel very reassured now.

  • commbank awards site doesn’t seem to be working for bonus points - anyone had any luck?

  • never used VFF before, I have 170K ANZ rewards points, should I convert this into VFF or use it for Gift cards?

    • Depends, are you going to use the VFF points for a flight? This provides you with the best value per point (compared with buying something from the VFF store).

      • I don't think I have ever fly with Virgin before.
I used to convert points to Asia mile but found the tax and fuel charges are more expensive than just buying the ticket. So I used all my Asiamiles points for attractions.

        • +2

VFF gives you many airlines to book a flight on, such as Qatar, Etihad, Singapore Air, United, Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Virgin Australia and others.

        • +1

Virgin is probably the best for domestic flights at the moment regards to reliability

    • +2

Yes do it. Even business class reward seats are relatively cheap, I think it was only like 38K points + $80 cash for Perth to Melbourne which is pretty good. Economy is like 17K + $40.

  • can anyone confirm if it is worth converting Crunch (container refund scheme) for the 15% bonus to Velocity points?

  • Just called IHG to transfer out my points off the back of the Platinum status match deal and you must transfer out in blocks of 10000 points and the CSR said it would take 14-21 days to transfer through. I can see that the points have been deducted from my IHG balance straight away but haven't come through on Velocity yet. Will update how long it takes to show up when they eventually come through as well as the bonus points.

    • Looks like my points and bonus from IHG transfer have come through in the last 24 hours. It showed up on my points activity dated for the date I called the call centre though. So just under a week for the points to transfer in from calling it in.

  • Always rather useless for me. I'd like a bonus for transferring Flybuys -> Velocity or from Velocity -> Krisflyer
Most cards that I can transfer to Velocity can also transfer to Krisflyer

Now if Virgin Australia would join the Sky Team Alliance just as Virgin Atlantic have might be a different story.

  • Damn, got all excited then realised the points transfer are not 1:1 ratio haha

    • Yeah I normally get 1 velocity point for 2 ANZ rewards points. 20% bonus is nice but still not sure it's that good value

  • anything for Citi rewards?

    • Click above link. Citi looks like they get 25% bonus.

      • Thanks just transfered points earned from the CC

        • The promo doesn't appear to be advertised on the Citi Rewards site yet, just checking you still received your 25% bonus from VFF?

  • Was hoping I could transfer my QFF points! Does anyone know if Virgin ever do a deal for that?

    • At best you could get a status match if you have a Gold or higher with Qantas but I've never seen a points swap. You could try selling your QFF points on the Classifieds.

  • which one is generally better, QFF or VFF? also considering moving amex rewards to VFF…

    • +2

VFF seems to have more reward availability at the moment but a lot of factors to consider. If you have status with one airline or fly with them regularly it also impacts your experience and preference. If you have a particular route in mind, have a look at what the cost and availability is from both players and their partners before you commit.

  • commbank bonus points not working for some reason

  • Anyone completed this with NAB? No mention of bonus points on their rewards page which is odd. If anyone has done in the past how long does it take to transfer and bonus applied

    • I think it took only a couple days. They add on the bonus from velocity’s end not nabs end so it comes as a seperate line on your velocity points history

  • +1

Redeemed my 220000 anz rewards point to the velocity points only on 30th of sep. 😭

    • +4

Don't worry, you should be able to reapply for your ozbargain license on 30th September 2023

      • +2

Lol.. thanks for the smile. But idk why i got a neg for saying what i said!

        • +3

Yeah I dunno mate, here have some +

  • In November of last year I redeemed ANZ rewards points for a 30% bonus. Does anybody know if they're likely to do the 30% again and it's worth waiting or to do it now?
    Cheers

  • Is this worth to transfer from citi?

    • that's also I doubt. I used points to redeem gift card. roughly both on same rate 20k points = $100 GC. while with transfer rate CITI 2.5 points = Velo 1 point plus 25% bonus, so 20k CITI points -> 20k/2.5*1.25 =Velo 10k points? is this calc correct? then it's 50% loss on transfer?

  • -1

I just applied for the Citi Prestige card that has 300K citi rewards points when you meet minimum spend.

Does Citi have a set date for when its statements are issued? If I meet the minimum spend straight away (let’s say next week when I get the card) - any chance I’ll have the points in my account in time to transfer to VFF by 26 October?

Anyone had experience asking for them to manually push through points once you meet the spend requirement?

  • I also tried the CBA awards points but the bonus doesn't appear to be applicable?

    • +1

transferred from CBA awards and transfer+bonus appeared instantly. bonus appeared under my activity as a separate transaction

  • Is this good for Amex Explorer or do they do better?

  • So no need to register for this? It all happens automatically?

  • Just tried to transfer some points from Citi Rewards to Velocity but it says it could take up to 28 business days for the points transfer to happen? Does it really take that long? If that is the case then this promotion is pretty pointless as it would be way past the promotion end date if done today?

    • +1

It counts as the day you request the transfer, not the day it lands in your velocity account

      • Awesome so there is hope I may be able to get the bonus points if I do the transfer today. I believe the last day for this offer is today.

        • +1

I did a transfer from Citi on 23/10 and it landed on 25/10. so fairly quick turn around time.

    • Mine only took a day or two.

  • I have American express business velocity card and i have 170000 points i m not able to transfer when i login to the amex website its just only showing me the transaction history of my points
