    There's a Kodi fork called MrMc you can run on it but it doesn't support add ons. You're better off using Infuse for purely media streaming purposes.

  That's not a bad deal. Not as good as when JB HI-Fi sold the runout model for approx $175. I should have bought 2 then but didn't know if the thing would fit my purposes. It's actually a brilliant little machine.

  Curious - if I got a 2nd one for the same household - is there a way to mirror the settings and apps? Or at least do a backup of the current device and restore to the new one?

    there's a setting to turn on called something like consistent Home Screen - words to that effect anyways.

  Another thing to add as to why ATV over others is that the remote (which is excellent with its trackpad like area at the top) has a microphone for speech to text input wherever you would input text for searches. It works really well.

    It will get to the point Apple couldn’t be bothered making the old A10 SOC and it will just throw a more recent iPhone SOC in it.

  Sorry, new to this. Can I just use this to get FTA channels in the form of apps? Like 7Plus and 9Now. Also with the remote, can it wake up (and turn off) my TV when I use it to turn on the Apple TV box? Or do I have to first turn on the TV and select the appropriate HDMI input source first? I have a 2014 LG TV. Thank you.

    I can use the ATV remote (and voice control via Siri) to wake up and turn off my TV, but I think it only works on TVs with eARC? Another method is to train ATV to recognise your existing TV remote. That way you don't have to juggle two remotes and only reach for the ATV remote when you need to dictate or play games.
