    • Do I need to exchange it for an e-gift card to do this? And does Nandos participate in e-gift card program? It says not all retailers currently do…

  • Is there any chance to purchase other types of GC at locations listed above? Example) Ultimate Home gift card can be used to purchase Apple GC in JB-HiFi
I wanna use it for more stores like fuel or juwelry store… etc

  • Just went to my local woolies and got 2 Ultimate home gift cards, total just shy of $900, for the Pixel 7 pro deal at JB's. Paid and activated.

When I went back to get something else and used my everyday rewards card, the "Do you wish to use your monthly 10% off on this purchase?" came up on the screen. I've got this as I have car insurance through woolies.

I went back to the girls and asked whether I could have used this on the gift cards, tried one and it came up with asking the 10% off! The girl didn't see it or forgot to ask. They said that I can come back during the day, see a Manager, void the gift cards, do it again to get ~ $90 off!

    Score!

    • It hasn't worked on gift cards since 2017.

    • The same message came up as well but when you accept the offer, nothing will happen in the system. However, that won't stop a nice staff member for manually helping out :D

      • I noticed that on self service too. I accepted but it didn’t reduce anything. Does that mean I lost my 10% for this month though as technically I’ve used it (without effect)?

      • Is it worth going back to Woolies then? Would the Manager OK it?

        • Probably not, from my experience the 10% off does not work with gift cards. You get the popup message, you accept but nothing happens.

          • @mauza: Went to see the Manager this arvo, he couldn't do anything without sending an email to head office or something.. Oh well. Probably wouldn't have worked as you have told me.

  • Went and picked up 1450 in TCN gift cards yesterday and bought a new phone with them from JBs. Was just checking my rewards points in everyday rewards page…. Odd +0 points…. Me looking at ozbargain post again… Wait, it says nothing about TCN Him gift cards. Fuuuuuuuuu 🤦

Basically every card except for "HIM".

    • Unfortunately TCN deal was only for last week. It's Ultimate this week as posted, they're similar in function but totally different provider.

    • It's a trap!

      • It IS. I'm the first to accept I'm the n00b here and fell into the n00b trap for gift cards. I just saw a bunch of cards, him, her, home, style, etc and picked up a bunch of the Him ones not realising the difference. DETAILS MATTER! :headbutt:

        • It does seem like the selection of which cards are eligible is a bit random

  • The ultimate cards website (and the ozb deal description) lists more retailers than are shown on the card packaging. For example, 'the ultimate gift for baby and mum' includes the good guys, according to the website, but the card packaging doesn't mention TGG at all, as well as a few others… am I confusing myself? Or does the packaging just show a selection of participating retailers?

tl;dr I would rely on the Ultimate gift card website for participating retailers in nearly all circumstances.

When you purchase the Visa version of a physical Ultimate gift card, there will be a QR code on the front of the gift card (and the back of the gift card, IIRC) that will tell you where you can use the gift card, and that points to the same webpages as the ones listed in OP’s table. (The list of participating retailers in the OP’s table is sourced from the exact same webpages too.)

Participating retailers change for at least one Ultimate gift card once in a given month, so I would not always rely on the cardboard gift card packaging. Additionally, the physical Ultimate (Visa) gift cards you see for sale at a brick and mortar retailer (e.g. Coles, Woolworths, BIG W) were produced at least a few months before they arrived at the retailer, so there is always a chance a participating retailer was added or removed in the meantime.

The only circumstance where I would rely on the gift card packaging for the correct list of participating retailers is Supercheap Auto, BCF and rebel. Those three retailers are being phased out of the Ultimate gift card scheme, but Ultimate gift cards with the logos of any of those three retailers on it are still redeemable at those three retailers. It seems like there will be new versions of the Ultimate Him, Kids and Teens gift cards produced going forward where it will not be redeemable at Supercheap Auto, BCF and rebel, but brick and mortar retailers will still be burning through existing stock that still features Supercheap Auto, BCF and rebel on the front.

There was actually a major update to the Ultimate gift card program a few weeks ago, which explains the major discrepancy between the front of the gift card packaging you have seen in-store, and the Ultimate gift card website. The Ultimate Baby & Mum gift card underwent a major update in terms of retailers, so the logos of participating retailers you see on the packaging was the full list of participating retailers before the major update a few weeks ago.

You, sir, are a fountain of knowledge.

  • Note that Ultimate Students gift cards are also part of this promotion. They're listed in the catalogue and I can confirm that I received points on them today. Not as good as the Home cards but they do work at Officeworks and quite a few other shops.

Didn’t see the one transaction a day part…..whoops.
First store only had 4x$100, all good 8000pts.
Next store had variable ones, so bought 2 more. 0 Points. Damn.
Rang EDR and they manually credited 12000pts as goodwill. Lucky this time.

    • I made two transactions at two separate stores today and received the bonus points for both, though one was a regular Woolworths and the other a Woolworths Metro. I wonder if that makes a difference?

  • Sold out in Woolies Melbourne CBD. Hope they get replenished tomo morning.

Why everytime i tried to add them to apple wallet, it says incalid card
    Im so over it.
I really need to buy apple gift cards with this.
And rewards points haven’t been tracked aswell fml.
Also just wondering if is it more worth it to convert the 20,000 rewards points to be $100 credit, or to become 10,000 qantas points?

    • Yeah same, bought some from Coles last week and couldn’t add it onto Apple wallet so I can easily purchase some Apple gift cards from JB :((( some help would be appreciated!

    • Try adding to a different phone/google pay/samsung pay

      • This worked, but how many phones do we need to have? Seems I can only add 2-3 per phone, and no longer working after that. And that includes other type of Ultimate as well (as on my main phone, I added 2-3 Ultimate Teens last week, and I can't add Ultimate Home from this deal anymore). Changed phone, can add 2 then start having same error again. Deleting the previous cards after usage, didn't help neither. Just terrible system in general

        • I have never had a single card that cant be added after trying 2 different wallets. I dont think there is a limit.

          • @truetypezk: Ur lucky or I'm just unlucky I guess. Did try on 3 different phones in total (and about 10 different cards from last week & this week deal), each phone can only add 2-3 Ultimate cards, then stopped working with invalid card error. I gave up :(

    • If you have the home card, they worked at officeworks. A friend of mine tried getting some earlier today. May not be as strict as jb if just mention paying by card?

    • Try put 12/29 as expired date, I've used this to add all my UGC to apple wallet :)

      • Yea tried that but still doesn’t wanna work haha

If anyone wants Ultimate Home variable GC, they are available at woolworths Docklands near Costco.

  • I haven't got my reward points from $869 (2 in 1 transaction) of Ultimate home variable cards.

How long did it take for others to get their's?

    • Still haven't got my points….

      • +1

If u don't get it instantly, I never saw that it'd be credited automatically days later (it's a lie that it might take up to 14 days, IMO, u either get it or u don't). Have to chase them to add manually after 14 days (I'm on the same boat, they won't help before 14 days past)

        • OK, cool. Thanks for that mate.

        • Thanks for that. That’s bloody annoying!!!! My points go to Qantas, I wonder if it has anything to do with that…..

        • I still haven’t received any points either.

  • I can never find the variable GC only the $100 denomination….Sydney inner west

  • Shop back has a challenge for Kids and Home on right now $100 min challenge for $5 + 3% making it $8 back. Seems right for those who just want $100.

  • Thanks! Bought Ultimate Home $500 x 5 for Bes980bks! Plz 20% sale at TGG again!
My EDR app shows me +0 on this purchase.
20x bonus point not immediately to me.
Is Woolworths doesn't give 1% point on GC purchase?

    • I went tonight and no points yet either. I hope they’ll appear tomorrow fingers crossed.

how often do these 20x promos come around?

  • Is there an easy way to use small balances on Ultimate Eats? Given split payment isnt as common at fast food places compared to retail shops you'd use the other Ultimate cards at

    • How small? It might annoy the vendor but u can order potato cake from menulog for maybe $1-$1.50? Or if a bit more, chips/sides from nandos/schnitz?

    • Split bill works fine at Nandos and Grill'd

  • Someone received points?
Is it really have to wait 14 days?

    • I still haven't received the points either..

    • There is something wrong if you didn’t get them on the day!

      • So you got them on the same day as buying the cards Coops?

        • I got points instantly for the fixed value cards (ie. $100), but not for the variable denomination.

  • Anyone got the points yet?

    • +1

With woolies, either u got the point instantly or u have to chase them manually after 14 business days. There’s no such thing of points getting delayed for gift card and magically appeared days later

      • I mean if enough people complain, surely they should look into it but prob not hey

the things is the 20x TCN cards this week don't have that 14 business day criteria but the Ultimate cards did

        • +1

I stand corrected. Bought 4x in total during the promo, got 2 of them as manual credit today without calling, which curiously the 2 middle transactions. Missing the first and last (I bought different amount, so I know which ones)

          • @hanofee: can you tell me if the ones you got credited were gift cards with fixed amount or those ones you need to nominate an amount to load?

            • @Poor Ass: I bought fixes, variables, variables, variables. The ones being credited manually were the 2 variables in the middle. Maybe they're still trying to fix more, will wait another week before calling.

            • @Poor Ass: I got my points today manually loaded as well. For 2nd txn of 3. 1st txn was fixed denomination, rest 2 were variable denomination cards.
Their process seems arbitrary, no clear pattern.

          • @hanofee: I got mine manually loaded today too

            • @Poor Ass: @hanofee @art1delay got mine added manually as well, but I got 2 x $100 and 1 variable in a single transaction and only got the points for the variable amount. I am pretty sure the $100 were included in the offer as I tried to purchase them in another Woolies on Wed morning and got the points straight away, but decided not to proceed because I would like to buy them all on that day and the offer said 1 transaction per day only.

              • @mauza: That 1 transaction a day is written but not really enforced. You can pretty go again same day as long as it was not more than 10 cards per transaction

Yup I got the Home variable load card and they manually loaded the points

I reckon they wouldn't of done it if I didn't online chat and asked about it

                • @Poor Ass: The 1 transaction a day is a real thing, the 2nd transaction on the same day will never earn the bonus points automatically.

                  • @Coops1: Looks like I have to online chat then

                    • @Poor Ass: I did 2 purchases as first shop only had 4x100 (8000pt credit), then 2 variables for $600 (no bonus) next shop I went to. Rang up in afternoon and had 12000pts credited manually as a goodwill gesture

                      • @Coops1: Yeh I forgot all about it

                        Thought it wasn't enforced

                • @Poor Ass: I think everyone got points yesterday or the day before, not all the points that we are entitled to, but at least something. I will just wait for the 14 business days to expire to call them again as they gave me this same answer twice already LOL

              • @mauza: All of them should be included, fix or variable, they just messed up at the moment

              • @mauza: @Poor Ass @hanofee @art1delay just to update you on the missing points, I have just called them again and got the remaining 4000 points added manually to my account. They have been added as 2 x 2000 points "Goodwill Rewards" transactions.

                • @mauza: too bad they weren't on online chat or taking calls atm

  • I made phone call with woolworths C/S.
It will take up to 14 days except weenkend.
I bought on 17th Oct, staff told me please wait till 4th Nov.

    • you reckon they'll give it to ya or you reckon you would need to call back

      • I think I have to call back after 4th Nov.
I already experienced several times they delayed, anyway they gave me delayed points. Never missed.

  • FYI I got my points manually loaded today

  • +1

Only got part of my points credited manually. Waiting on the rest to come in.

  • Maybe this helps other but I got my points on Friday (13 days after I bought the cards), but had to called then up this morning to get one of the gift cards points added manually as it wasn't on the same transaction (as per the T&C's). And when I went to purchase the checkout chick said they couldn't put them through on the same transaction. So I didn't think too much of it at the time, leason learnt. At least they were awesome about it, and there was no fuss getting the points manually added on.

  • Made one transaction of $4,000, got my 80,000 points credited.
