Whilst it will be much more expensive, Pixel 7 & 7 Pro is releasing in two hours.

Almost positively the price of the 6a will drop once another 'better' model is released, holding on for a little while longer makes sense to me.

      • The 6 and 6 Pro will drop as well

        • So you agree? Hold on until the new model drops?

        • +1

Historically this has not been the case. The best deals are in the lead up to the new model. After that they don't want to provide any incentive to go with the earlier models over the latest gen. Just look at the price history of the 5 and 5a.

    • Quite a few leaks claiming that pricing will be the same, fingers crossed

  • 103,100 points + $240 then 177,300 points + $0. It doesn't let me use any points value between these two.

  • Wish it is 90hz or 120hz

    • Yea the refresh rate and charging speed on the 6a is a bummer.

not as cheap when it was $499 at JB with fake trade in

  • can repay the cash amount over 12 or 24 months interest free

ordering requires your drivers license or passport as proof of identity when delivered !

    • +2

Nah that's just what they write

They've been delivering without signature for last 2 years

      • This is incorrect, I've had a mobile device delivered since the "no more signatures" change, where the courier had to sight my driving licence.

        • Maybe you look shifty?

    • Yeah, they've recorded my licence number the last few times.

Should have got the Moto G51 5G deal from JB Hi-fi earlier in the week. $200 for a big screen and big battery. Android has came along way.

It sounds like your wife prefer iPhone for the status symbol. Apart from maybe photo quality, for everyday use like social media, web browsing, shopping, banking and light gaming like Candy Crush I doubt your wife would notice the difference in terms of performance between the $2400 latest iPhone and the $199 Motorola.

Photo quality wise, the Pixel will likely beat out the iPhone, but your wife might still refuse to switch because it's not an iPhone. Maybe get one of the Pixel 6 or 7 phone for yourself and show your wife the difference.

Blue and Green bubbles were something created by Apple and will most likely never come to Android. They won't be an issue anymore if you are all using Android and WhatsApp instead of iMessage.

Yes, Android phones are only designed for poor people. if you don’t believe me buy one and watch as all you friends decide you’re to ignore your calls and messages as you are now beneath them.

When you go to pay for things at the supermarket the checkout operators always giggle when you pull out a “google” peasant phone to pay for your groceries.

Ok jokes aside if you’re actually buying 5x pro maxs every 2 years that’s insane. Most iPhones sold are the base models, most people upgrade every 3-4 years or when support runs out.

I hate having to use the android peasants only line at the shopping centre.

Does your wife know you're on ozbargain eyeballing havianas instead of Louboutins?

    • If, and only if you can afford it, just stick with the iPhones otherwise my guess is that you will be in for a world for grief

    • Lol, well played. I really can't tell if you're trolling everyone.

Peasant phone, blue bubbles. I'm sure you'll get the android fanboys riled up.

All jokes aside, you're comparing a budget pixel phone to a flagship apple.

Your real comparison is should you buy a pixel 6a (with $200 change to spare) vs an iPhone SE gen3. Those phones sit in the same target demographic.

So the choice there is, do you value blue bubble and apple ecosystem higher than - better and bigger screen, better camera, Ultra wide cam, better bat life?

Another consideration is cross device integration. If you have iPads, Macs, apple tv, apple watch etc. There's no denying that apple products integrate and work together far more seamlessly than android. Apple really sinks their claws in and dont make it easy for you to exit their ecosystem.

Good deal in my opinion if you have Telstra points. I just used all of mine and it only costed me 240 bucks. I went with sage color - was confused between chalk and sage.
    Pros
    * Android UI which is light weight and free from bloatwares. Overcomes limitations of 6GB ram hardware
    * Camera is best in class
    * Chipset is same as flagship model
    * Good battery life on budget phone
    Cons
Didn't like the colours to be honest (plasticy), 6 gigs ram, screen is 60hz and no fast charging.

  • seems like a good deal. but did chat via app to transfer all family account points into 1 account but will take up to 7 days so i guess we will miss it.

    ref "Select a repayment option
    12 months
    $36/mth $20/mth
24 m" if you dont have enough points or cash is there any cost or credit check done if you choose a Telstra repayment option to pay the difference?
