This could be interesting. I certainly don't fly enough to warrant membership (I have in the past), and I wonder how many others won't bother to these days, after multiple years of people WFH and video meetings.

Mine lapsed so I'm up for joining fee as well. My plan was to just buy entry passes instead, but turns out they are admit-one and have black out dates (school holidays) whereas QC membership admits the family.

So far they have actually let us in though.

I'd bite on a half price 4 year.

    • Looks like the deal is only valid for 1 year memberships. Let me know if you end up getting a 4 year though! :)

      • +1

Yeah it would be nice but I'm not confident. I should have said I WOULD bite on a 4 year :)

    • So you can normally get another adult and a couple of kids in under one Qantas club account?

  • Can’t see how long the promo runs for? Have flights booked for mid November so would rather wait till closer to the date to apply

    • They're usually pretty short.

Annual 1 yr membership is 600. 50% price is $300. How did you get 270?

  • +2

Still a joining fee of $99? No deal.
This must go towards the CEO's bonus.

    • Pretty sure that's just for joining the frequent flyer program? Heaps of ways to get it for free.

      • +3

Nah - there's a one off fee to join the Qantas Club.
I reckon I'll just wait till I do a heap of flights again. Hopefully the Sydney/Perth Clubs have been done up - they were grotty and overcrowded pre covid.
As for Broome - well it's "friendly".

  • How does International lounge access work for Qantas club members?

    • There are some exceptions which are on the site, but generally you get access to qantas international business lounges and American Airlines and emirates business lounges in some occasions.

    • used to be access to business international lounge in Sydney etc from memory nothing overseas unless it was specifically a qantas lounge

I have to say qantas club has gone downhill since covid, less selection, understaffed, large queues & busy, they'd also done away with self serve coffee etc but that might not be all lounges

nothing beats paying $600 to wait in line 20min for a coffee and a toasted ham cheese sandwich. money. well. spent.

  • +5

Look it's a great discount….but the lounges are already terribly over crowded and dropping in standards.

I can't imagine a load of new members lining up for their toasted sandwiches will improve the situation.

    • +2

They were getting this way pre-Covid.
      Ridiculously overcrowded in Sydney/Perth/Auckland.
Haven't bothered flying since Jan 2020, so can't comment on current state.

Not so exclusive any more hey. I never traveled enough to warrant it but did have silver for a bit so got a few entries, then a mate who transferred his to me for a while. The lounges seemed to be not much more than a food subscription and a place to sit because half the airport was in there. Then there was talk of some extra fancy exclusive club which required platinum or gold membership to get into.

If you are credit card churners and manage to get to Point Club Plus (350k qp) , you get Qantas Club membership for free.. Just saying..

Otherwise, this is a good deal for flyers 🙂

How do u see the discount

It says 699 when ur up to the review and join section

    • +2

Do you see the in 4 days part of the post or their page that says 50% off Qantas Club Individual one year membership offer commences Tuesday 11 October 2022.

  • This is good, I was thinking the lounges weren't crowded enough yet, we can definitely fit more!

  • I'm surprised about the lack of negs and comments about lost luggage (at the time of posting this comment)…

I was on a flight to Port Moresby the other day and the ground crew packed the food & drinks, but no cutlery for economy. GG

Just shovel that slop in with ya hands!

I fashioned a nice spoon with a pen and the foil food cover. Tremendous

Is Qantas club lounge & business class lounge different? Can you access club lounge if you are flying with Jetstar?

What are the locations for overseas club lounge? little confused on their website. I can see LA & London - saying international lounge.

Additional luggage for international - So It gives additional 12kg allowance, do I have to buy ticket from qantas.com to use that or they just allow additional luggage at the airport?

  • +1

The lounges are very average these days, even the business lounges. $300 would by you a lot of toasted sandwiches that’s for sure, unless you want to go there just for the open bar, even still, better off spending $300 at Dan Murphys. Their First lounges are still a great experience IMHO.

I don't understand why closed shoes are required in there. I've thought about it a lot and it's really ridiculous. I'd pay this if I could go in footwear that I actually find comfortable to travel in (definitely NOT closed shoes)

not 100% sure but I think this started around the the 'cashed up bogan' became a thing. Lots of cashed up FIFO workers hitting the open bar pretty hard, I never saw it but i heard that the QC in Perth could get a bit ….colouful . I suspect an attempt to keep it 'classy'

  • any idea if this will apply to corporate schemes? I suspect not as it is 'Individual' menbership……

    • I tried logging In but couldn’t get pricing as we purchased a corporate program.

How much is the pricing for various memberships please

  • Cheaper than my corpo scheme.. Good thing I forgot to buy for a couple of weeks

  • Looks like you can pay points 46500 + 16000 points for this too.
