  • Was curious around some of the claims and found these. Maybe get this to take during a heavy night on the turps!

What the manufacturer unequivocally labelled twice as Food Grade activated charcoal has became Medical Grade in quotation marks on the product page.

    Ingredients
“Medical Grade”, Steam Activated Coconut Charcoal powder. 100% natural. Contains no fillers or binders.

Whatever outlandish health claims the retailer has made, this kind of deception cannot be condoned.

    • I forgot to reply to your message. See below.

  • Food grade is actually below pharmaceutical grade:

"On the supplement end of things, food grade is the minimum federal requirement. USP verification for supplements sits firmly above food grade standards as a sort of middle ground between food grade supplements and pharmaceutical grade supplements. A USP verification covers four things during their auditing process."

Even so, I would not just dive into such supplements. Often the key is self discipline. Whether it's weight or food related other digestive issues, the key is self discipline and eating the right variety of foods in moderation. But people are too lazy so they look for easy ways that do not work.

  • mmmm…. coconut farts

  • Ok, so charcoal removes contaminants in a filter. So why not eat it?
Reminds me of Trump's suggestion about injecting bleach to kill viruses.

Does it have any benefits aside from emergency treatment for poisoning?
    Maybe, but evidence is lacking.

    https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/what-activated-charc…

There’s no evidence supporting the regular consumption of activated charcoal as either beneficial or helpful.
What’s more, the idea that you need support to help your body remove everyday toxins to stay healthy is a myth.

The "Health Activated" sounds like an illegal unsubstantiated claim to me.

  • After antibiotics messed up my gut years ago (thanks GP) I was given activated charcoal capsules to help with the gas I was getting after eating or after long periods of not eating. They helped keep my stomach quite when I was undergoing training at a new job. Would have been embarrassing having a co-worker have to listen to my stomach farting internally

Only used them for a short time cause I read somewhere it could stop you from absorbing nutrients
