    Damnation - it's VA.

At this price point is there any 34"+ non-VA monitors that are curved?

      • +9

Nah course not. Just felt like a whinge.

        • The one they didn't honour?

@Jazza2400: The one that muzeeb honored

@Jazza2400: The one that most were not honored, just for those who managed to get their orders pushed through.

            • @hawkeye93: ah yeah figured they catch on to those that pushed to get delivered ASAP but if some got it then that's a great deal.

    • I have never owned a VA panel, but I thought VA would be pretty good for a gaming monitor. VA colours and contrast are good, but viewing angles not great. Since this is a curved monitor that you will be sitting right in front of, viewing angles shouldn't matter right?

It's a silly myth on repeat that "Va = bAd". It's basically misinformation.

VA has better blacks than IPS - which suffer from "IPS glow" in low light. Pronounced on large panels at night - when you want better blacks in games and movies. Nothing wrong with VA viewing angles. TFT has the awful viewing angles. No monitor is perfect, and quality differences between panels and brands exist, but the ultrawide VA panel I own is awesome. I've owned plenty of IPS panels too.

        • Blacks might be better but VA smearing is pretty bad for me, especially since I use dark mode for practically everything.

          • @JerraJones: My next monitor will be OLED. Probably the upcoming Alienware AW3423DWF if I dare spend the cash. Before then, these arguments about IPS vs VA are just squabbling over 2 imperfect display technologies. Looks like this deal has expired. Was a great price at $499.

            • @cerealJay: Yeah oled's definitely my next monitor buy/the future, I'm waiting till rtx5000 series+240hz oled panels that aren't as massive as they are right now (or ultrawide). IPS and VA are both imperfect but I tolerate one more than the other. Also looking forward to oled panels in VR headsets.

  • still good for WFH

  • Showing $949 now for me.
